There was this thing that kinda boomed in the 2000s called hip-hop... I dont know if youve ever heard of it. I mean the 2000s were easily the worst rock decade since the 60s (if that), so yea bro. Theres this group called Outkast, might wanna give them a try. Also a group called Linkin Park (you somehow missed them), this guy named Eminem, this guy named Jay Z, then there were also the years 2008-2009, but lots of people dont know about all of that stuff. I disagree about the decade being weak on rock. In my opinion, there were a lot of good garage/post-punk revival bands like Franz Ferdinand, The Strokes, Interpol... I suppose you just had to look for the stuff if you were interested and not stick to watching MTV.

However that said, you should just suck it up and read some Pitchfork.Then make a new list when you have proper inspiration. This is coming from someone who is a BIG fan of your 90's list. Try to mix up genre's and not rely on rock so much because that was easily the worst 00's genre. Easily.
