The Old Testament gives reference to "seer stones" but its important to point out as Joseph Smith did, that there proper Hebrew name is "Urim" and "Thummim". Translated it means "Lights' and "Perfection". You will notice these passages make reference to a breast plate and that the stones are placed into the breast plate. Joseph Smith's account is consistent with that description.

The only evil being done is by your preacher preaching against the word of god and you being with him. If you dont believe in jesus and his church, not the pastor that teaches you church but jesus church then you probably wouldnt believe when jesus established it himself and you would of been like every one else and ridiculed him. What about Paul saying that if we keep the commandments we will be heirs of God and JOINT-HEIRS WITH CHRIST? (Rom 8:14-17 - study the context all you want)

1 John 3: 2 - "when he shall appear, we shall be like him."

Galatians 4: 7 - "if a son, then an heir of God through Christ."

No, I think you need to better understand The WORD of God. God's Word does not include the book of mormon. How arrogant to believe that you will become equal to your creator. Do you not understand that God is a jealous God and you shall have no other gods? BTW, the mormons have taught you that hell is not a place of eternal punishment? Do you think that Satan might have something to do with this wicked doctrine?

You need to understand better our beliefs before making those acclamation. The Word of God teaches that we shall be like Him, but never that we are going to replace Him. Doesn't matter that you can grow up to the age of your dad, you will never be your dad, you will never replace him, but you can be like him. It's an eternal pattern and it's everywhere. Don't know about you but not living w/ God would be hell on itself. Since when man can decide or say or limit what God can do? Who is the Word?

@snookerjam and science is always accurate? should I believe more in something manipulated by man that changes principles and postulates, mixing ideas of just people? or shlould I trust in the voice of the Spirit of God?

My belief is based on what His Spirit answered me when I asked, not necessarily in what I was taught. The test is available for everyone willing to hear Him

Have you even read the Book of Mormon? By only looking the cover you will realize that it says "Another testament of Jesus Christ". ANOTHER. As you read it, you'll realize that it's a true sentence

The Book of Mormon is true. It was written by ancient prophets of God for us today. It gives warning and council and if we abide by it and follow it, we will be blessed.
