OH AND ONE MORE THING FOR YOU TECHIES: the hardware is definitely not designed for a tablet computer. Google it, you'll see that inside the joojoo looks just like a laptop...if you know a little about computers,portable devices, and electronics, you'll know why that is a horrible decision when designing something new like this.

Who is going to buy this laggy, choppy product? The iPad does lack iSight. Flash will soon be obsolete after HTML5 is released. But there is still not a better alternative. This product is still not up to par to match the equivelent capabilites of iPad. And judging by the laggy-ness of the OS, don't be surprised if the camera interface is horribly slow and sketchy.
First off, the video is showing a prototype hardware, and BETA OS.
iPad has a huge advantage over this cause of the already established app store with millions of users who have already purchased apps.
HTML5 wont be implemented as a standard for 1-2 years, well after the iPad release, you'll be waiting around a long time without the ability to use Flash on the iPad. More likely when iPad version 3 comes out.
And for a company that just got into the market making tablets, I'd say they did a hell of a better job than apple and iPad. I cant wait to see what the next model JooJoo would look like,

It's about how you will use it.. for example keyboard on wide screen will be very small then you rotate tablet vertically, and very big then horizontally.. then cover more context.
Im not really evaluating it, I'm giving an opinion based on announced features/specs and overall hardware design. Aesthetically, this thing looks a lot better.than the iPad (that's a lot of bezel, even to help avoid blocking the screen with fingers)

im not saying the ipad is wonderful but its one amazing piece of tehnology (the touchscreen is amazingly responsive) and it runs the iphone OS which is also outstanding

i love apple, but the ipad was not up to par as i hoped it would be, but when you look at the joojoo the screen is amazing but the only things i don't like are the orange screen and the delay between swiping through screens; apple i don't like because it runs on itouch software and i feel that if you do want it to be in between laptops and itouchs than it would have been better with Mac OS, and no camera was another downer
The orange page is the home page layout, it was programmed to change colors each time you go to the home screen, but the you can turn the feature off so it doesn't do that.
Also, the OS demoed was only 75 % done and was still in beta, they are going to have the coding worked out before they ship.
It's gorgeous. So much better than the iPad. Perfect for online magazines and newspapers and fine art books. Great for graphic artists like myself. This thing trounces the iPud
@laphongtudo Why other prototypes do not have such huge obvious flaws in responsiveness? There are a lot of similar products coming out and there are lots of videos of them around.
Prototypes are only different in minor bugs not in major features/functionalities. I, too, personally do hope it will be fixed when the final product comes out but believe me, from my past experience, these kinds of unresponsiveness will remain annoying the future users.

Prototypes are not meant for production. To say Prototypes are only different in minor bugs is stupid. Prototype is to give better idea on how the production-ready will be like. It's no different than software companies putting out demos despite having bugs.

@laphongtudo Why other prototypes do not have such huge obvious flaws in responsiveness? There are a lot of similar products coming out and there are lots of videos of them around.
Prototypes are only different in minor bugs not in major features/functionalities. I, too, personally do hope it will be fixed when the final product comes out but believe me, from my past experience, these kinds of unresponsiveness will remain annoying the future users.

Prototypes are not meant for production. To say Prototypes are only different in minor bugs is stupid. Prototype is to give better idea on how the production-ready will be like. It's no different than software companies putting out demos despite having bugs.

@laphongtudo Id still rather get the iPad though, This thing is $499, and all you do on it is browse the web and social networking, Oh and flash, big woop. Id rather pay that and get storage, and all around media player, apps, games etc... This thing is a waste of money. I will wait for ipad v2 before i even think of buying one of these shit tablets

@damagecase13 But you can social network in full mode. Instead of small apps. Joojoo has apps. Fusion Garage is going to open a web app store. Joojoo has storage 4GB. Joojoo can play media from youtube or lala or something. Games , you can play that on the web.

@laphongtudo All the app store apps stretch to fit the screen, not only that the developers for the iphone will be making ipad apps as well. 4gbs? Thats nothing, I want to be able to have the music i want, plus some movies and tv shows on something like this. Its basically a portable web browser and thats it. And there "app sore" is basically a website that puts all the "apps (websites)" in one place. Your getting WAY much more for your money with the ipad compared to this.

There not actualy apps on the jooojoo though, all they are is websites. Complete shit. You can keep trying to 1up me but it aint gunna happen. This thing is not worth the money compared to the ipad...
