@StuckinMusic Actually he didn't turn it down. They chose not to ask him back. Primarily because his actions on the set of the Hulk movie left marvel with a bad taste for him. Norton asked marvel to let him rewrite the Hulk script, which they agreed to but; the director edited the vast majority of the re-write out and left it on the cutting room floor. If the information online is to be trusted.

Kevin Feige's statement to Hitfix is good evidence they disliked him however.

I feel bad for Mark Ruffalo. It's not his fault a bunch of fat cats have screwed up the Hulk franchise. Personally I think Eric Bana was awful, though he looked a little like Banner. Norton acted the best, but he didn't look like BB. Mark looks like Banner so maybe we should give the poor guy a chance, maybe he'll redeem Hulk? Or maybe he'll be the final nail in the coffin lol we won't know until Avengers comes out. Side note: I want to see She-Hulk!

He was willing to reprise The Role if The Script was good but they shafted him . I`m kinda disappointed Ed`s not returning but Mark Ruffalo`s a decent dramatic actor , kinda resembles Ultimate Banner and hopefully he`ll do justice to Ed`s Performance . On the upside , Lou Ferrigno will be voicing Hulk again !

He talked in some magazine about how he didn't "get" the new Batman movie, rambling on about how it didn't make sense to him, basically saying that it wasn't something that interested him. So I'm not surprised he bashed Inception and Nolan. This is why I usually don't care to know or see actors off screen, you find out what they're really like. Downey comes off as a jealous juvenile with no class.

He is actually one of the more charismatic and talented actors out there in Hollywood, Heck, he even got the most uproarious applause out of them all at 1:06 if that says anything. And his personality is even better (watch any of his interviews, he shines) Plus, 1:58 didn't he say Inception was an ambitious movie?
