ok im replaceing cv joint on 98 civic and im trying to put on the nut on bottom of ball joint but the hole stud is turning with nut and dont have anything to hold onto stud to thread the nut up on the stud on ball joint. do i need a new ball joint?

depends you splins in your balljoint are linneing up you don't check your balljoints like that. try using vice grips
