One of my favorite movies. I usually watch it with French subtitles since I can read French much better than understand spoken French.

The only thing that was a bit disappointing was the ending which seemed to be taken from 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest'.

Michelangelo and Da Vinci, and Mantegna were huge artists, and Jeff Koons and Damien Hirst are not. The real reason there is gravity is because we believe in it. The scientific reason for gravity will be our own creation. The physical universe is based on the collective belief in separation and therefore limitation. When enough people don't believe in these ideas any longer the universe will simply disappear.

I've read the book in French, and the film is very faithful to it. There is dialogue in the book that is used verbatim in the film. This is a truly great French film, and holds up under repeated viewing. Timeless, touching, terrific!
