Right, dig this, I'm a White Anglo Saxon Heathen and I work with a Sikh Punjabi named Jay. I Love the Dhol/Bhangra rhythm. Its somewhere between 4/4 6/8 and triplets. I Listen to alot of double bass-pedal fed heavy metal which I adore, but since working with him he has been feeding my interest into indian, specifically Sikh music (so I understand its a specific cultural/religious divide) and much respect to those drummers. Its always great watching musicians jam. Spectacular!

I like you Sikhs, and I heard that the Dhol style of drumming / rhythm is an old fertility thing? Is this true? It would fit that the guys drumming look like they are guiding an Auroch. I am sure there are many Sikhs out there who may answer this. I do not know your culture, and would never isult you by pretending to, but I like what Ive seen so far, and I very much enjoy Banghra.

@safemypikey This dhol style of drumming/rythim does not belong to any particular religion, these beats are common in the punjab region of india. It just happens that most punjabis in punjab are sikh, which is why safemypikey referred to this music as "sikh" music.
