Boromir and his brother are my two favorite characters. They display the most heroism and love for their country, even though they are misguided at points.
Rest at ease, Son of Gondor, your quest is done, your sword sheathed, your horn is quite. Now you stand with the heros of the past, truly there is no more fitting place for a warrior as you.
If he would only had his shield with him, he might have survived those arrows! Boromir is my favorite of all time.(Although I dont know if he had a shield in the books)
@SwedishViking1988 in the books he did have a shield also a helmet is mentioned just as something he had with him he was never described as wearing it though and yeah i feel the same way he by tolkien was described as the best swordsman in the books (better than aragorn) regardless of what the movies said he was great thats why i got his shield tattooed on my left forearm lol
boromir is amazing. sean bean is the perfect actor for him.
because both portray boromir as a strong person and i think the way he protects merry and pippin in his final moments is so heroic. he is one of my most favorite LOTR characters. all because he is so strong and caring for those smaller than him- which is practically the rest of the fellowship
Boromir was a good man at heart. The tragic thing is that the Ring took advantage of his fear of what would happen if they failed. His fear became so strong it manipulated him into his action.
This would have been a good video without the music and with the quotes. When people search "Boromir" they aren't interested in what music you listen to.
hehehe i like Boromir very much also :-)! THe typical fighter, warrior and a champion, too bad that he have the fate that fell upon him! i would like to see him fighting through remaining parts of trilogy! what is the song by the way, it fits very well!

my friend knows boromir (the actor who plays him) he lives in sheffield, apparently hes really stuck up, and has a really slaggy girlfriend :S meh, amazing film
People aren't looking at it in the way I think that tolkien wrote him. Boromir is a tragic story, he is everything that a hero should be. Strong, handsome, a little bit brash, sacrificial, it's a story of how even the strongest of people can always be tempted by power, no matter what they use it for. He was tempted and he fell, then in his last moments he redeemed himself. Boromir's story is exactly that. Even the strongest can fall.
Well said, I think Boromir represents men much more than Aragorn, as another not so good movie said once "They are great people they wish to be they only lack the light to show them the way" trough the journey you can see Boromir asking Aragorn to trust men, and that is what he does eventually so for the movie (Not the books)Boromir has an effect even in Aragorn and represents all of our powerlust all of our potential at the same time, made lil video about him /watch?v=VSlncmnpkSY hope you like
@Projechtjericho exactly, people get overly focused on his redemption but they fail to recognize that his death is ultimately a tragedy. The life of Gondor's greatest was ultimately snuffed out in the wilderness alone. He never had the chance to return home to the kingdom and people he loved like he wanted to, he never got to see his homeland again. I think its a wider testament to Tolkein's experience in war- even those who should sore in life can be robbed of life but conflict.
Look at it like this. Boromir took down more than half the assault party's thugs singlehandedly, and if it hadn't been for him, Merry and Pippin would have been killed. One of the few characters that truly went out in a blaze of glory.
just the same - i miss Boromir for the remainder of the story and light up like a firefly whenever he is referred to and spoken of (remembered). That is why he is the right sacrifice - if we couldn't identify with him - it wouldn't work. Aragorn is man but he is of Numenor - a bloodline of greater pedigree than Boromir (so they say, sniff), Elf blood included, etc. Boromir is us. All of us.
ugh, cut off half my message - Boromir is the sacrificial lamb or in this case "man" necessary to maintain a poetic balance for man's time to rule middle earth yet to come. a rite of passage so to speak, just as aragorn's exile has been (i.e. myths, religions etc, all follow this recipe for a compelling story).
/ valiant princes is an iconographic must. Had Boromir not been there to take the heat Aragorn would have been the only man, and (maybe) the one to die - Unacceptable not only for the story line of a returning King but for the iconological balance of it.
I liked Boromir *Sniff* oh well i'll eventually get over it as long as I don't wath the movie again. I almost cried wen he died cause the scene was so sad.
Fantastic vid, great choice for the soundtrack. Boromir and Pippin are my favorite characters, the former for his noble nature and that he could protect the Fellowship from anything...except himself. The latter because Pippin was only a young thing, not even legally an adult, and he went through so much and became almost man-like and loved Gondor until he died there as a very old hobbit. Also because these two had such a special friendship. Thanks for the great vid!
Boromir is my absolute favorite because of the reason the ring was able to corrupt him. He would have taken it from Frodo for the good of his country, Gondor. After seeing what he did, he was repentful and sacraficed his life for hobbits whom he cursed moments before. Truly a hero and a fitting person to die. :(
Sean Bean is amazing, he was sorta shy during the making of this scene, because the only people actually shouting were the filmmakers, and he was yelling as if he were trying to rise above 20,000 people, so, that I think is courage! 5 stars!
How could they delete the best scenes? I've seen the film at least 10 times and some of these scenes I see for the first time. Shame they aren't included in the film!
