Thank you from a woman from California. I'm probably late to the party, so how did the challege go? Still got any hair? Sorry for my honesty, but I hope not. Excellent video, thanks again!
Great idea trying to live on less as an example. Yet why didnt you look at what the locals make do with or what the aid groups give out? Myself I buy a big box of rice a bag or two of frozen veg soya sauce put it in a steamer and voila!! Keeps me in meals for weeks. Breakfast egg and toast. I skip lunch and dont snack. Well maybe the odd frozen fries and a bit off a big cheap chocolate bar to keep down cravings. LOL
This is pretty cute, actually. I remember being down to about 10 dollars and two weeks left in the month for both me and my college roommate. But this was in '84, so it was probably equivalent to what you're doing. We bought a pint of vegetable oil, a pound of popcorn kernels, a 12-pack of ramen noodles, 5 pounds of pinto beans, and picked dandelion greens to make salad. We also had a neighbor who had too many vegetables planted, so guess who reaped what she sowed ;)
This is so helpful. We just hit hard times with our family and it's nice to know someone else cares and found a way. Although inflation means I can buy even LESS than what you were able to grab in 2008.. I hope we can learn something.
Go to an Indian store, get a bag of wheat flour, oil(optional), yoghurt(optional),salt. Cook chapatis and eat everyday. You should get through an entire week spending not more then 5 dollars.
Haha, that was pretty hilarious, yet also eye opening. That's an awesome thing you're doing, Az. It really shows a lot about how blessed we are here in Australia. I'm really looking forward to the future episodes.
