  • Вот это было нечто .

  • Sad thing is everyone was on the floor in an epileptic fit before they could play the game.

  • I can remember just praying that the tape loading error message didn't pop up :-)

  • Do not get me started on the volume control.

  • See for us original game playing pioneers this sound was the foreplay before the anticipated sex. :)

  • Can anyone remember the actual loading times for games? It always seemed like a lifetime

  • @dwbong11 Yes around 3,5 minutes for 48k data or 9 minutes for 128k games

  • @NostalgicJoe Some 16K games loaded in about less than 2 minutes. :)

  • very funny

  • The soundtrack of my childhood!

  • ohhhh that sound ssssssssssssssoooooooooo gooooooooood

  • Oh jesus those sounds take me back... :-)

  • THIS IS HOW BAD VIDEO GAMES WERE AROUND THE FAMOUS VIDEO GAME CRASH

  • If you plug this sound out to a spectrum, will it load?

  • @ourben Unfortunately, no, I tried it myself!

  • @ourben lol. it's not the sound that transfers the data into the spectrum, the sound is just a side effect.

  • @GregSidelnikov It is.

  • awesome post

  • 10/10 just that sound.Awesome! I heard some freaks can understand it :)

  • My favourite YouTube ever.

I want this video played at my funeral.

  • The graphics on those loading bars was so impressive, very smooth, no lag or stuttering whatsoever. If only today's PC's were as good at the speccy's loading graphics smoothness!!

  • If I have one memory of the spectrum, its the loading screen!

I went to bed with nightmares from this crap...

  • The Eighties really was an awesome decade in which to have a childhood.

  • 0:41 LET'S DANCE BITCH!!!

  • That actually sounds infinitely more melodious than some of the crap that gets played in these drug binging sessions called raves.

  • Excellent stuff - it is disturbing how easily this brings back vivid memories from 25 years ago - sat there, coke can in hand, gawping at the screen waiting for Daley Thompson to load... Happy Days....

  • Isn't this piracy? I could record it and then play the tape in a ZX Spectrum ;) (j/k)

  • Genius ...i actually thought that if i click on subscribe i might affect the loading and get an r tape loading error

  • I just made a Music video with the spectrum loading sound in it. check it out.

  • @FantasyMindedMan Ahh ha ha haa!!! Thanks for reminding me. I did a video of several loading sequences. It finishes with a gameplay of Chuckie Egg. I doesn't have any if the beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee csch though but instead has some ultra cheesy dance music I mashed up years ago.

  • memories.... like the corners of my mind.... misty water colour memories...

  • ano loi im smiling to this shit

its like music to thine ears : )

  • you know your never get bord of that sound,

  • These pauses in loading still make me anxious...will it work or crash...especially if it was a copy from a mate...ah the magic when it worked!

  • I know exactly what u mean!

  • @StuEvo Who and what in particular?

  • @DaveWBedford

Dude I KNOW! I remember breath held in while that paused, and "ah <:-)!" when it continued.

  • Still have mine here, i was 5 or 6 year old using this.. hated when it got stuck loading forever

  • One day youll be a millionaire computer electronics expert!

  • Just has that magical feeling to it. Some people just don't understand it but it's their loss.

  • @Amesuki - I am too remember this sound.

  • Hell yeah, the best sound of all time..

  • Pure music to my ears. Love this.

  • Spectrums were cool, I still have mine :) Loading used to take forever and then at the last minute it would crash lol. those were the days

  • that sounds... that modulation... hi addictive stuff :) i still have my zx+ !!!

  • i couldnt even do level one on this game how do you do it

  • 10 print "awesome"

    20 goto 10

    run

  • r tape loading error.

    Remember that??

  • I'm trying to FORGET that ;'(

  • @cosine303

    WHY???

  • @DictatorRoB well the last thing you want is your game failing to load

  • AWESOME!

Does someone know if is there any game build and selt on a 45 rpm vinyl single?

  • there is at least one.. that came with a shakin stevens record / flexi-disc.. quiksilva devolped it for him :)

  • @RDL1984 Would have been good and I like the idea. Just imagine that top 20 games from 1987 for the speccy on a 12" album. I think for it work you'd have had to have the one's and zero's close enough on the groove of the record and a tough enough needle to cope with the sudden changes from zero to one in the now analogue signal, to reproduce digital (binary) computer code. It may have been done as an experiment and nothing heard of it.

  • Awesome stuff! Always remember sticking the tape in to a new game and wondering what the loading screen would be.

My favorite where Trap Door, Jet Set Willy, Tagrget Renegade, Double Dragon to name just a few

  • I still have my spectrum! :D

First games console I've had the privilege to own :D

  • E P I C

  • ahhhh, I miss this

  • no jo starý dobrý časy ... až slza v oku jest ;)

  • fuckin quality....!! the hours I've lost in my life watching these pesky screens is something close to criminal... yet it still makes me smile :)

  • load ""

  • old times, really love this :D

  • r tape loading error

  • gotta love it.

  • That's brilliant

  • truelly wonderful, takes me back

  • epic!

  • dream sequence

  • oh god

  • Loading later highpitched software for the Spectrum was a nightmare I once tried out three different tape recorders to get Imagine's Hypersports to load and even then it only loaded up sometimes with the volume and tone at the correct level

  • I hated the fast loading games for the Spectrum.I know it reduced the time for the game to load. But,get the volume wrong and it would either crash or it would stop loading altogether.I've had this happen to me many times, especially with an adventure game called The Final Mission by Incentive.I've lost the number of times that I needed to reload it.

  • ringtone haha

  • man this is good memories, when I was a kid, I use to have 48 zx sinclair spectrum, the version with the rubber padded keyboard. it use to take forever to load, it was my older brother who use to load this, by the time it loads, we use to get very happy, and my cousins come over to play this. it was so cool back then to have it, because not many people had it in that time. great times

  • LOAD ""

  • ohh man thx for this...i remember old times lol!!!! load "" enter...xd. thank you...great old times... colecovision - cz spectrum - atari - comodore 64 - msx talent - cleaver game - cz 1500 - tk 1500 etc..

  • HAHA!! I still have this game, and it stll works!

  • man i have not heard that sound in ages...

man i used to spend hours a(waiting loving playing)

    with my zx spectrum +2

    good old days.

  • that is music to my ears. I remember having a sandwich while it was loading.

  • omg, i'm 10 again

  • god this takes me back to my old school days in the 80's.. it was kool stuff back then.. sometimes u would have to reload 3-4 times as it wouldnt bloody start lol..

  • mine still works! 1982! wooo-hooo!

  • i remmeber having a speccy 128k streethawk & knightrider edition pack for xmas which was a great day until i found non of the games would load :( turned out there was something wrong with the head so ended up spending the night soldering a phono wire into it and using a normal tape deck , those were the crazy days :D

  • *Seizure* WTFBBQSauce?!

  • Very creepy!

  • This loading sound, brings back memories... Good old times, the game were SO BASIC, but somehow, it carried a lot of MAGIC in it!!

    Tank u

  • Oh god, the memories come flying back.

An iconic sound for all thirtysomethings who grew up in the UK.

  • LOAD ""

    Yes... really great memories...

But it is an iconic sound for those who grew up in the UK and other countries...

  • i just loaded successfuly flying shark yesterday

  • man i miss the spectrum, i think all games should load this way

  • How very sad, I have the biggest smile on my face now after listening to that! Thanks

  • Music to my ears

    (thought I'd never say that)

    ;)

  • Man, this was like the soundtrack of my twisted life from about 2 years old till 8.

  • join THE INTERNET MEMORIAL WALL this is part of internet history too.

    watch?v=yOV5-eEM2qU

  • they made a remake of this for pc.. on "retrospec" although the lunar jetman i prefer =) .

  • ...barely enough time for a wink...

  • Mesmerising

  • screen$ longer to load than game LOLOL

  • I can think of at least one Amstrad game that took longer to load than it did to complete (Wizard's Lair). :-p

  • i used to quite enjoy listening to DKtronics centipede loading and used to look forward to the melodic parts. dear oh dear!

  • Lovely :) thanks for sharing.

  • Loading the screen has rhythm, like in the Enterprise 128. It's almost a symphony.

This video is disillusive. We wait the loading, and at the end of the loading we cannot play, the video ended :D :D :D

  • Ooh! This brings back lot's of memories. This is oldskool. :)

  • WOW! Thanks for the video!

I remember the loading process like it was yesterday. The sounds and the colors which match them.

  • WOW! Thanks for the video!

I remember the loading process like it was yesterday. The sounds and the colors which match them.

  • This was actually one of the first games I had for the ZX48 my father bought at the time. I also remember very fondly early titles such as "Hungry Horace", "High Noon", "Match Point" and of course "Manic Miner". Neither me nor my father got very far in this game though - but seeing the monkey calmly hitting the man while he was hacking trees for his life will forever remain one of the fondest memories I have from the 80's. Thanks for the video mate!

  • Bloody hell haven't see that in about 20 years now! I never had that game but the loading sequence was the same for al Speccy games.

After 15 minutes waiting for The Hobbit To Load...R:Tape Loading Error. Aaarrggghh!

  • YES, YES, YES!!! I love this.

Thank you so much for uploading this video. I just cant stop watching it.

  • Darwinia has that loader too.

  • nice..

  • Those loading sounds are designed to put you in a trance ready to play the games!

    R: Tape loading error !

  • You were lucky! When I was your age, all I had was a ZX81 and a steam powered portable television. Ha! Actually I chose the ZX Spectrum because I had the old ZX81 which I sold to a friend. Those were the days. This generation with its broadband computers don't even know they lived.

  • I had hated when it gives loading error, but was great. I was happy and didnt now.

  • If you drop your computer right now, and maybe kick it about the floor a bit, and then try to use it again, it'll be just like playing a spectrum!

  • Wow these were ace.I had the +3 and my mate had the +2 and in the tape slot we used to play music tapes while playing the game. The music would play on the screen lol

I had games like cobra command, the great escape, green beret how I wish my gran never through mine in the rubbish by mistake!!

  • I love it!

    nice music to my ears!

I feel young hearing that but at the same time old...

    nice!

  • welcome in the jungle

  • Hahaha, pretty cool !! I love this song !! :D

  • Ow.

  • The thing was brought back to life, by this time though (94/95) getting the (good) tapes was very hard!!! If only they told you on the box that that screw might fuck up at any point, could still be playing Cisco Heat in style :)

  • Haha, that takes me back. Who else remembers the little screw on the tape deck of the 128k? When games wouldn't load if you fiddled with this it would sometimes make it work. I was 9 yrs old and didn't have a small enough screwdriver so took away half the plastic of the casing as well

  • Hehe, I'm a freak like this, I load all my games on spectaculator off wav files of the original tapes.

  • thats kinda cool. i think it would be much more rewarding this way than just to load a rom on an emulator and start playing straight away. you dont get the same vibe :)

  • It makes you that bit more willing to play it longer than 5 seconds! ;)

Haha yeah I remember the azimuth screw only too well. I thought my spectrum was dead a long time ago so I sold all my games (which was lots) at a carboot sale very cheaply (like 50p for 5 tapes) it then became a £200 calculator....a few years after selling the tapes someone at my school mentioned about the screw when I described the symptons my machine had.

  • i LOVED those sounds when i was a kid lol

  • OMG this so takes me back to the old days loading a tape waiting for it to load & then there was no guarantee it would load awesome stuff anyone remember Punchy or Oh Mummy for the old zx lol.

  • BEST COMPUTER EVER!!!!

    (PC sucks!)

  • Tape Loading Error

  • Man that takes me back to the gold old days :D

  • dig those groovy sounds

  • i'm crying like a child

se me ha puesto la piel de gallina xddd

  • fap fap fap

  • Dare I say it, LOL. I did laugh out loud at that comment. :D

  • That said, I wish it had more colour variance, I like a good busy colourfill noise! ;)

  • Hace mucho tiempo que no escuchaba estoy ruidos!!

    El Spectrum es el mejor!!

  • ZX Spectrum rules!!!!
