@mikegigabyte Since filming this video I have purchased a computer radio (dx6i) w/ subtrim. I've also purchased EZ Connectors. I'd still recommend making your best effort to mechanically trim your plane first, and then use subtrim from there.
I'll have to add the "kinks" in the push rods to my slow stick --good idea! The two best mods I like for my slow stick are attaching my receiver to plane with industrial velcro from Walmart, and hot gluing a piece of balsa between my front landing gear to hold the legs apart and rigid. Also, I did packing tape my stab and wing --don't know how much extra weight that added, but I don't worry about a crash. Actually, with slow stick, I rarely crash, so my next SS I'll build as light as possible
Good idea on the balsa wood. 2 weekends ago at an RC Fun Fly, I saw a cool slowstick mod. A guy had taken 2 wings and taped them together top to bottom so that the wing had full, symmetrical dihedral (sp?). He added aelerons and was able to somewhat 3D it. I'll probably give that a try at some point. Also there's a cool "3d slowstick" video on youtube.
I am going to buy one and I like your idea. I'm a long-time-rc-car and a first-time-rc-airplane and having x-tra protection will help me to spend more time at the park rather than at my "local" hobby store...Thanks ;D
I'm still new-ish at RC flying. These are just tips I happened to hear from my local RC shop right before seeing kenstogie's video, so I thought I'd pass it along. I have posted a few flying videos on my wife, tsuasai's account.
I guess thats if you dont use a computer radio with subtrim adjustments
