  • Every strategy has a point to start with. The start point here in my opinion is: Talibans do not come from Andromeda galaxy and have chosen Afghanistan as the ground for battle against US but they are are Afghans, they come from the people of Afghanistan and they belong to Afhgan people. From here you can develop your strategy. It is very easy. Build schools for them, create jobs for them, help them economically to stand on their foots then there will be no more insurgencies. That is it.

  • Helping Afghanis to be able to develop a society and a good economy is much cheaper than fighting Talibans and continuing this war. This war you will never win it you have to understand this, but you can win the Afghani people.

  • That's a fool's errand. None of those things happen without intensive security to protect the schools and the infrastructure that you suggest we build without bothering to fight. If we didn't protect those assets the Taliban would tear them down or destroy them like they have done before and continue to do so. A military strategist you are not.

  • And also 1 thing else, Afghanis do not love cheap and corrupted puppets like Karzai, so let them have a government of their own even if that government will not be very tasteful for you, by the way the same is true with Iraqis, they hate most of all those puppets you brought with you to Iraq 2003 when you first invaded Iraq. And do not tell me that you have a strategy in Iraq please because I'm Iraqi and I know every thing about my country and know very well what is going on in my country.

  • Listen, both Iraq and Afghanistan are hopeless. It's the rest of the world that wanted us to put in governments to replace the ones that were annihilated. The only thing you guys have going for you are your resources and we are the ones who put in the infrastructure so you would even have that. As usual, you squandered it. You go out of your way to run your countries into the ground. The entire middle east is pathetic, but it's always America's fault in your eyes. You live there, not us.

  • Really? so beautiful... At which wash machine have you washed your brain please? CNN? FoxNews? catie Couric? Iraq was the most best developed country in entire middle east and this was one of the reasons you destroyed it, it began with 1990, with First Bush. The infrastructure we had was not less quality than West world's infrastructure, our Universities were of the best ones in the entire region, people of Iraq were united, until you arrived. You drove us back 500 years in time.

  • If that's what you want to tell yourself then go right ahead. We didn't invade Kuwait, your country did. An act of war after an Iran - Iraq war that your side fought miserably in. Those were choices made by your government so it is your fault we went to war with you. In regards to being driven 500 years back, take away our technology and you have nothing anyway. As a point of reference for you, I was there so I'm familiar with your country. Don't need to watch cable news for that.

  • Those Talibans you fight against now, wern't they your best friends 2 decades before now? Didn't you fight shoulder by shoulder together with them against "THE DEVIL COMMUNISTS"? Didn't you supply them with most sophisticated military equipments at that time? Didn't you call Talibans as "FREEDOM FIGHTERS"?. What happened that those freedom fighters became your worst enemies? The are the same Talibans that once you loved. I want to fair answers to my question not fool ones.

  • I'm engineer, worked more than 20 years at one of the worlds most sophisticated power plant which was in in my country, where is that power station now? Your intelligent missiles turned it to smoke and it is gone with the wind 2003 when you "LIBERATED US". Do you know at nights we lighting candles? The Power station I was working there was producing 1.6 GW and we had more than 12 like that one.

  • Sir, you go and take care of your country and leave us, we will heel our wounds by our selves, just leave us and go home, and we will be very appreciative.

  • It's too late for that now. We'll leave you alone and let you wipe each other out, but our military will remain based there for a future challenge. It's a good spot to be for a possible altercation with Iran. Why do you think we are in Afghanistan too? Look at a map.

  • Good, maybe next time your country will toe the line and we won't have to obliterate your power stations. Again, it's all about choices. You chose to have Saddam remain in power, we chose to bring him down. A power station is a legitimate target when crippling a regime and eliminating their ability to react militarily.

  • No, we didn't fight shoulder to shoulder with them. We gave Pakistan aid which they transferred to them. They were never friends. Again, we don't care about your countries, they are useless. What we do care about is if you perpetrate acts of war, then we will devastate you.

  • I have nothing to talk with you about any more. Thank you, just leave us and go how and we will take care of ourselves.

  • No doubt, you have proven no body is better than you when it has with devastation to do. You have 40 million people sleeping on streets and are homeless and you devastate others at the same time, go and take care of your homeless people instead.

  • No we don't, you must have got that from Al-Jazeera or Al-Arabiya. Yes, you have propaganda news stations there too. Don't worry about us though, we can multitask.

  • You are not any more capable to threaten a chicken any more, you are finito, take a look at your economy, take a look at all those endless problems you have at home. Soviet Union fell once and now you. So best is go and do some thing about your problems and try to cope with the rest of the world and live peacefull with them.

  • What about our economy? It's as strong as the other major economies combined. You delude yourself, we aren't going anywhere. You might as will get used to it. We have interests at stake and those trump your utopian dream. If you think the world will be peaceful without us around, you are sorely mistaken. The world is a real place Farhad, power abhors a vacuum.

  • Look, I do not deny US importance in the world, this I have never said, US once brought to the world Thomas Jefferson, Lincoln and J. Washington, but LOOK, when the moral and ethic values in any society fall every thing else will follow accordingly, be careful do not follow Hitler's foot steps, you will lose every thing.

  • And the world loses a lot when US is lost.

  • Hitler's is a bad analogy. Like I've said before, America does not care about your countries. We are there because other countries want us to be. The majority of the developed world depends on your resources. Ours come from over here for the most part. What we do buy from you is exchanged for weaponry. It is moral for us to secure a relative amount of stability in your inherently unstable countries so other countries in the world don't suffer. You are the ones that have created any instability.

  • Here is the dilemma noiwudnttrip, that dictator Saddam was created by US. He was supported by US, we tried tens of times to get rid of him US protected him, provided him with all kinds of latest military equipments, WMD and every thing and now you blame us Iraq people for Saddam and the stupid things he did. Read about Saddam when he was in Cairo 1961 and how CIA trained him and built him for a day to rule Iraq. You have to see Iraq as a country with 25 million people not as your enemy.

  • You can not regard a country as your enemy because its dictator committed some stupid act. You Americans have to widen your perspective, you can not see countries as either your friends or your enemies, THIS IS STUPID.

  • A country that threatens our interests, supports terror against our citizens and attacks his neighbors is our enemy. Why would we widen our perspective to embrace such a country as a friend. Common sense. Live peacefully or suffer the consequences. We aren't going to let you be hostile. We'd be happy if you joined the rest of civilization, but you guys don't seem to be interested in that. It's to your detriment. Get used to troops being there, focus on your family and job instead.

  • But after all I'm very happy that you admit it is not the democracy you deliver, it is not freedom you wish for other people but all about natural resources you want and about protecting interests as imperialists. Thank you for admitting that.

  • Democracy takes place from the ground up, not from the top down. America formed it's democracy from the ground up. You will never achieve that because of your society. Also, we are not imperialists, we don't want your country or any other country. If we did, we would have taken them already. You need to realize that arab society produces nothing that the rest of the world wants. Why would we want to incorporate you into our nation? You're a financial drain as it is.

  • do you know what, the crimes you have done in Iraq if Hitler hears about them his stomach will turn up and down. 1 million killed, 4 millons refugees, our museums that contained historical arts at least 7000 years old stolen destroyed by you, Baghdad library which was 1000 years old was burned by you, torture, rape, murdering on daily bases have become our standard of daily life. Go to the hell you and your democracy, export it to some body else, we puke now when we hear the word democracy.

  • I was there for the invasion and I was there again a couple years later. You were the ones acting completely ridiculous. The entire world saw you iraqis looting and acting like animals. You should be ashamed of yourselves. It doesn't matter though, count yourself lucky that it was us as opposed to one of your neighbors. I'm sure they would go out of their way to make sure you weren't hurt.

  • the library was 2000 yrs old...but ur right in general...ALL that for neo con / zionist war pigs like mrs kagan..... a shrill arab hating / jew lover

  • One more point, we can't just give you democracy. You have to want it also. That means not just electing the first charismatic thug that comes along and electing him one time before he turns into a permanent dictator and never allows a vote again. There is a lot of talk in the world about how violent arabs are, but I never put much merit into that. Your people submit to violent dictators so easily after all. You want respect from us, but you need self-respect first. No sympathy for that.

  • YOU ARE A JEW, I cought you, you are a Jew, yes, you smell a JEW. And here I will put a point. dot.

  • I'm not Jewish but thanks for the illustration of how disgusting your culture is. I'm Scottish and English and I can trace my family's lineage here all the way back to the first settlers. I have an ancestor who signed the Declaration of Independence. I'm very proud of my family's history here and I love my country.

  • That is a perfect example of why the middle east is in as bad of shape as it is. You tend to latch on to every conspiracy theory that comes around to ignore your own real issues. We didn't choose Saddam, you presented him to us. He wasn't raised here, he was raised there. We don't pick and choose. You guys need to get your act together, stop worrying about what we're doing and start focusing on what you can do to uplift your society. Look inward to discover the sources of your problems.

  • Here you have a point, we know where are the roots of the problems, few of us do. Those problems are very deeply rooted in our societies and what is sarcastic is that US instead of fighting these roots of the problems and try to help us to eliminate them tries to strengthen these sources of problems. you know what I'm talking about. You ahve been there.

  • Rather, nature abhors a vacuum.
