Muslims believe in this, it has already been stated in their religion. The bible also speaks of this, this film has less to do about the christian vikings and more about the one eyed man. u see the way he slaughters all & eventually those who live end up follow him. To those of u havent got a clue wat im talking about please look it up.
Actually it's about all of them, he has no powers, besides visions of his fate. Only the boy (who always followed him) and the warrior priest follow him; the son turns back to die his own way. Valhalla is the hall of the slain, which is an apt title, considering what that boat and the land they stumble into becomes.

film was great. REALLY great! totally different. VERY strong pictures, less talk and a good sountrack.
pitty for me: i like this type of movies and such movies are so rare.. idk if people are not familiar to old traditions anymore. for me, theres nothing more important than the old gods, vikings, edda and so on.
the only thing what made most people confused was the "300"ish like Dvd/Bluray-Cover. Bloodsplatters all over, nothing compared to this film actually.

don't think many of u know this but this story is based on the forthcoming of the one eyed devil (aka Antichrists or Dajjal) - he will have supernatural ability. Muslims believe in this, it has already been stated in their religion. The bible also speaks of this, this film has less to do about the christian vikings and more about the one eyed man. u see the way he slaughters all & eventually those who live end up follow him. To those of u havent got a clue wat im talking about please look it up.

Actually it's about all of them, he has no powers, besides visions of his fate. Only the boy (who always followed him) and the warrior priest follow him; the son turns back to die his own way. Valhalla is the hall of the slain, which is an apt title, considering what that boat and the land they stumble into becomes.

One of the most disappointing films in recent times. A very promising and intriguing beginning which soon turned to pure arrogant film making with a whismical and unintellagble plot. A fucking waste of talent. Don't bother watching it, you'll just end up perplexed and slightly irritated.

A very deep movie, too deep for most to understand in fact. Nice action scenes, without them this would have been so boring. Slow moving plot shakes it down to a 4/6

the fuck, this movie was boring as fuck, what a waste of money.. k maybe i didnt get the point of the movie, scenery was beautiful though but thought it would be like 13th warrior, no action at all, all the action scenes gathered last like 2 min.. but seriously didnt understand the movie at all.. no disrespect to the director and actors though but i was just disapointed

ps. This is the worst manipulated story of the Vikings ever. It's clearly they know nothing about the history; or trying to give us another image of the reality back then. Shouldn't movies like this be based just a little on facts? I mean it doesn't say 'Fiction' anywhere on the cover.

And those who died of disease or age went to Helheimen to spend eternity as pale shadows of themselves?? Sounds abit unfair, doesnt it? No, my friend.. The vikings were not stupid, so i call this CHRISTIAN PROPAGANDA. I'll tell you this: "Valhall" was the name of Odin's "house". The other gods had houses too, Tor had "Bilskirne", Frøya had "Folkvang". So perhaps there was a place for everyone.

@ceoinline I understand sarcasm fine, but sarcasm most often needs a very specific context and is 90% recognised by devices such as intonation, stresses etc.
None of which are discernible on the internet unless followed by one of those amusing little smileys. I don't have kids so it's not really my concern, but I would expect a certain degree of parenting, i.e regulating what the children watch and generally looking after the results of the union of your genitals. (by "your" I mean people)

@WoodlandAsh Exactly. We agree. Parenting. Unfortunately most parents know nothing about what their children really have access to. I did it myself. But when I was young we at least 'had' to meet in private watching/doing all the things we wouldn't want our parents to know of. But today it's just one click with a mouse and you are there. And the parents don't know (or subconsciously don't care). Ahh. It's movies. It's fiction. But it's closer to a child perception of reality than we think.

Because you didnt get a shit about what the movie was about! And the quality of the picture were scandalous, looked like a telesync or some cheap R5 shit. The movie was divided in 5 chapter witch was worthless! A swedish movie reviewer described the boys function in the movie like this; "For the most part, he has with him(Mads Mikkelsen) a little blond boy whose function in Movie is about as unclear as the cucumber slice on McDonalds cheeseburgers"....

I get what you guys were going for; it was a good idea. But the delivery was a train-wreck. Whoever made this needs to have their job re-evaluated.
