I used to play that game online about 8 years ago with a low speed connection, X-D but i loved it. I still thing this on is the best of the series ever. A lot of different faces, a lot of guns...cool musics and sounds, cool missions, cool modes...cool multipler, ....and the plan thing...that is the best thing ever !
On "elite" level hostages may be killed by terrorists after first shot without silencer =)

I liked it too... and I felt strange because when I played that way I was actually playing it more like a RTS then a FPS. Two games in one. lol
