  • Does anyone know what JPS is saying at 8:37 and a couple of seconds forward?

  • These are so great and rare, thanks a ton for all your great postings. Do you have any of the old British Strongest Men shows and/or any footage of Kazmaier and Capes armwrestling?

  • A 80kg*2 farmer's walk, my god strongman's come a long way.

  • @Maddolis jezus even a normal person could do it with 86 kgs loool i am 18 and can handle 120!

  • @luiscarre You can't be that "normal" if you farmer's walk with 120kg*2

  • @Maddolis sorry, maybe i am used to see this type of shows where they even do 160kg farmer walk, my bad

  • @luiscarre 120 kg farmers walk is not normal, that is really good. 86 kg would be very easy for me, but an average person would probably struggle even with that weight.

  • @HITstrongman i had no idea, i wish there were competitions where i live, here i can only train and watch videos

  • @Maddolis this is more a show event. The wsm and pure strength competitions from the 80s and 90s were as demanding as modern competitions.

  • @LDP060681 For their time, sure.

  • @Maddolis no I mean that overall the weights and difficulty of events of the wsm competitions havent gotten *that* much more since 1983 or 1997 or any of the golden years. This show here is more a showpiece for a family day out. Wsm competitions and winners are always comparable: the winning deadlift in 2011 was 430kg. Jouko ahola won the deadlift in 1999 with 395kg so it's not a huge difference by any means.

  • @LDP060681 A 35kg change in deadlifting over 12 years seems like a large difference to me.

I'm sure the differences between 2011 results and 1980 results are massive.

Kazmaier was an absolute beast looking back at the early-80s videos, but Zydrunas would make those weights look like child's play today. I'm sure if Kazmaier were around today (at his peak) he'd still be elite and a lot stronger than he was in the early 80s, but that's just how the sport develops.

  • Look at Olympic Lifting, on the other hand. The world record clean and jerk set by Taranenko in 1988 still remains (or would 'officially' still remain if they didn't restructure the weight classes- but it's still the most weight ever C&J'd), yet strongman records are broken every year.

  • Awesome this is a classic. Thanks for sharing. This must be one of Jon Pall's last competitions.
