  • Sehe ich da Brian Wilson?

    Sensation.

  • I love this guy.

I mean today onstage he srely can't do what paul mccartney can do onstage (playing bass all the time, playing 4 other instruments) sing all his old songs in the same key (even helter skelter), but then again he never had the breakdowns and psychological problems brian had.

But Paul really still is what he always was.

While Brian just some years ago started to finally be himself again, especially after smile was finished and that was from hsi mind after 40 years.

  • he was a bass player some times

  • I like that Brian's up front on bass.

  • His voice is still is as amazing as it was nearly 50 years ago. I'd pay anything to see all the surving (even david marks) get together for a concert.

  • @ddr122

sorry to say, but everybody knows he has lost his heavenly falsetto during his alcoholism in the 70s.

  • Dancing bear.

  • Awesome! It's great to see Brian Wilson in such fine form after all these years!

  • What the fuck. Brian cannot hit the high notes? He used to rule all!!!

  • @LifeIsGood63 Don't do drugs.

  • @majortuff Ya I guess I should be a little more respectful that he is still with us.

  • @LifeIsGood63 see your a fruit cake like John Lennon

  • @LifeIsGood63 People age. The Party! version was done in his early 20s, this would be him in his late 60s. Bit of a difference, don't you think?

And yes, like majortuff said, the huge amounts of coke he did and cigarettes etc. in the 70s are certainly to blame, too.

He still has a pretty nice voice when he tries, and it's amazing that he's still writing some great stuff and alive at all, really.

  • One of the truemusical genius's of our time!

I put Brian Wilson in the same category with Benny Anderson (ABBA) and Burt Bacharach,

Barry Manilow, and Boyce and Hart.

Think there is one person, in the developed world who does not know "Barbara Ann?

    Thank you God for YouTube.

  • @B52sguy

I put him one step down from Lennon/McCartney, the greatest of the last century.

  • @OropherThranduil The Beatles were great, but the lyrics were weak.

Just my opnion. They, (Beatles) Had great songs, but the lyrics were weak.

Eleanor Rigby, This Bird has Flown, Happiness is a warm Gun, Back in the USSR, Julia, The End, All you need is Love (that one should be like that, it was the first ever worldwide broadcast, it should be understandable to everybody around the globe), Hey Jude, Across the Universe (my favorite for lyrical poetry) and many more.

  • i saw brian at the waikiki shell after the honolulu marathon one year........we were in the front row, it rained and most the crowd left.......I've never expericanced a string of hits that this guy played along with rarities ( hawaii!) other than paul mc carntnen,.increcredible show , I was happy to have all access backstage passes to the beach boys in honolulu in 1978.brian absolutely ripped on bass for " i get around' he was on his knees crazy, the band even mentioned it in the backstage area

  • faking on bass! boo.

  • It looks as though the guitarist stole Mike Love's hat and it takes fifteen backup singers and band members to try to replicate Brian, Mike and Carl.Sad really, Beachman.

  • True, but you have to admit that The Brian Wilson Band is better than "The Beach Boys", in the state that they are now.

  • @safefortheozone Yes, the band is.... but the current Beach Boys (Mike&Bruce) are focusing more on the Surf&Cars era of the Beach Boys, while Brian's show more on the period from Pet Sounds and later. Brian's voice (and facial epression) really seems out of place on the fun, upbeat songs.

  • Brian has still got it.

  • Aguante el loco Brian!

  • love BRIAN!!!

  • i love how his bass player has that "creepy messed up jazz bass player" look. haha

  • Gotta love Bob Lizik

  • @seandrumzmusic Hey Brian is not creepy

  • @coolsweetgroovy Not brian! his actuall bass player haha! i'd never say anything like that about brian wilson. genius.

  • @seandrumzmusic Genious Brian is and yeah you're right his bass player is creepy

  • brian rely noes how to rock he never grow old. or his music

  • the usage of studio musicians was at the recording season of Pet Sounds, before that Brian always played the bass himself at the stage and studio. Before writing silly comments about his bass playing just watch "The lost Concert",you can find it at Youtube too....

  • @tamerabi2007

he played bass from 61 to 64, and yeah, back then he was good livre and in the studio, but from 64 on, after he left touring, he got session bass players, california girls being the first i think he did with carol kaye, in 64 he used another one from the wrecking crew whose name i forgot.

  • That is so untrue. Brian was a very good bass player back in the day. Just watch any of the real live clips from the early days and see for yourself.

  • fuck off dwighty u prick!! dont u realise its his fuckin song m8?...the band wudnt sell the venue out if he wasnt ther!!

  • class!

  • Love the Beach boys and Brian but lets face it,this is a another band singing and playing while Brian stands at the front doing very little.

  • Brian Wilson is a one man Lennon,Mcartney & George Martain all in one, But only better than all three! The Beatles admired Brian and stole his ideas because they new he was a Genius. There will only be one Brian

  • @nken411

They never stole anything from him.

pet sounds came after revolver, not the other way around, brian was inspired by them.

and then pet sounds inspired sgt pepper, which in turn was a part of the decosntruction of brians smile project.

  • its fuckin sad just sad how he is holindg the bass but the other guy is playing it, but still he is the fuckin legend

  • why is Surfin USA cut off

  • sorry, chip ran out. I never usually do 2 songs together, but couldn't resisit USA when it launched straight into it!

  • When I saw Brian perform Smile back in 2004, it was probably the greatest night of my life. I felt something very spiritual in that theatre. Brian is the best and always will be. I am so pleased he is doing well for himself and has got his life back in order and is happy!

  • I love Brian, but he's not fooling me with that bass.

  • @Inacatsuit I suppose he just needed something to fiddle with rather than just stand there and sing.

There is another bass player over to his left.

  • Have to love the way the string section gets up and boogies during this love watching the whole group getting involved in everything.

  • You've got me rockin' and a'rollin'

Rockin' and a'reelin' Ba Ba Ba Ba Ba Barbara Ann

  • Wasnt it usually Brian Wilson who sang the falsetto voice?

  • Yep. He's not able to do it anymore though

  • he also played bass

  • bravo on surfin USA, he did a good job

  • feels like a gospel revival, BB style

  • This was the best gig off my life!!!

i was sitting pretty close to where this was filmed.

  • Brian looks like he is enjoying himself. I'm so happy to see him in this new phase of his life. I saw him perform live in Tokyo during the SMiLE tour. God bless him! Way to go Brian!

  • Brian's looking relatively fit, wow!

  • hihi,he learned 2 play the bass?!

  • Brian Wilson was the bass player in the Beach Boys he's been playing the bass for over forty years.

  • @BritishArrow

Actually he played bass from 61 to 64, his touring years, than he wrote down the notes for the studio bassists to play them.

  • the drummer is really good at playing like dennis.

  • one of the best gigs ive been too bloody awesome good quality vid mate!

  • brian and the band members love having fun with their fans. my brother nick is the one wearing the black cap standing on the right side playing guitar. (leader of the wondermints) brian is a real humble nice person.

  • i just love brian! just bloody love him!

saw him 2 days ago. god i wish i was still there.
