I WANT to say I LIKE this, but really it just makes me sad, having lived there during what was probably ONE of the 'Golden Eras' of A.P, the wonderful and innocent 60's. I was young, but can't remember a place I lived growin' up where I had MORE FUN!!! Even when we were broke (which was usually) it was still a gas, & a kid could ALWAYS find something to do, and a fun way to make a buck too! Amusement guys always needed help w/something. Then, there was the eternal sea, watching over it all!
Spent many a summer painting the fun house, the carousel or the bumper car walls. Who remembers Sally, a fixture there for years?
There will never be another place quite like the Palace. Those of us who had the privilege of working there will remember the "behind the scenes" family fun that went on there when no one was looking ;-) I can still hear the unique blend of sounds that made up this place. Nothing else could ever sound like that.
Beyond The Palace hemi power drones scream down the boulevard. Christ, Bruce, you could have saved the place.

The fun house was the best when I was a kid, till my parents began to bring me farther south each summer!
