You got the wood fom a tree at the side of someones building, it would just sit there for while anyways. Those bundles from the store dont burn that long anyway. When im in a forested area I collect wood from the side of the road for later.
I love France (well, I've only been to Paris, but it is my favorite place in the world!). I think that traveling alone is a whole different game than going with people. You get to do 100% of the things you want to do, and I definitely think that it is much easier to meet other people when you're solo.
It isn't like I was alone the whole trip. Almost every city I stayed with old friends or stayed with some new ones (Couch Surfing). I would have killed whoever I was traveling with, so it was best to go alone.

You inspire me with your solo travels!
I lived in France for a bit and did some traveling alone.
It can be somewhat lonely but I met so many people when I was alone that I think I may not have met had I been with others!
