Clearly you've never heard some of their newer songs like "Liar", "It's Me Again" or "Killing". Most of those songs are just straight up guitar distortion and minimal effects used except during a short interlude or something. Besides, I don't really see the difference. Munky's always liked using effects because he's a big Steve Vai fan. They just couldn't afford the equipment until they got bigger.

Yes, they do rule. But to me, it would seem that if they continue making records regardless of their sales, then apparently they aren't doing it solely for the money. They obviously do it for the love of music. The way I see it, going mainstream isn't something you do as much as it is something that happens to you. KoRn had no control over the number of their fans. The main reason people knew them was because of their relentless touring, and not MTV and shit. That's why they're cool.
