this is definitely what i consider to be underground...
there are so many people whom claim to know types of underground music, and i find out they are just garage bands playing covers of popular mainstream bands...
this is completely original and gives you a completely new set of feelings and emotions when you listen to it... when u hear this song, u can't quite think of a group or genre that can truly describe what this sounds like..
@Nhordmyr i agree... i'm just glad my genetic structure has been wired so that i enjoy all these amazing atmospheric sounds that seemingly take me to worlds unknown, in the darkest, deepest depths of my mind... amazing. purely.... amazing.
Actually thats progressive breaks, made popular in the mid 90's.
Check out "Orbital - Insides" (1996)
Wrong...its not underground and NO...its not "completely original" and niether was Orbital. I head some hip hop cd from the EARLY 90's that sounded very very similar to orbital. True, original, creation is very very rare. This, sir, sound very predictable and cliched.
Actually its calleed progressive electro breaks, or similar. It was made popular in the mid 90's

No...its not underground and No....its not original. I heard music like this from the early early 90's and even late late 80's....yeah. Its not bad, its not a breakthrough in music though. But its good to hear people think thats underground...keeps the underground secret for a little longer.
@NoBodiJones but you see, this is what im talking about, its not a breakthrough in music based on ur perspective, but to some ppl it is! i think it is, and maybe just a small handful of others that discover it, but it hasn't hit mainstream AT ALL, which makes it quite underground to me... i was born in 89 and am still amazed to find amazing tracks that make me ponder how such amazing sounds could be made even if they were made years before i was even born... nonetheless a masterpiece to me!
@Kaiekae yes, but what ppl don't really credit is the artist whom made this track FIRST! then a bunch of programmers get together and say, "HAY! HEI! this is so cool lets put it in our video game and it'll become cool too!!!!!! OMFG SO BRILLIANT!!" pshh yeah... heard it a million times already.
@twiceasfastasyourass ...What does that have to do with what I said? I was talking about how the music sounded like something that would be in a video game, and you're talking about giving credit to the original music artists. There was no need for you to get so defensive off of a comment like that, my good sir. Explain?
@Kaiekae I'm sorry for confusing you, I'm not trying to be defensive, but I just know many ppl whom claim tracks to be solely credited to the game it was featured on, but never come to credit the artist whom composed the track itself... I agree, it could very well be put into a video game, hell, it could be put into a movie! However, I just feel very strongly that certain ppl should learn to find out where originality comes from and credit it appropriately. Hope that makes sense :)
I love how easy it is to make this style of ambient music. Because of the high amounts of tremlo you just dot a standard drum beat. Add some eery synth pads and some sound effects and thats it mostly.
I know that ambient music has that soft 'air' like feeling about it, but is it still ambient if you have a loud bass line or drum beat? Just curious.
Thank you for the upload, this is some nice music.
I think it all depends what style you choose. Say you were going for dark ambience, it's not easy to make, it's easy to choose the instruments (i.e. various strings, environment sounds, wooden blocks). But choosing where is fits and how it should sound is difficult.
The reason I think this particular style is easy is because of the simple use of patterned pads, though this particular track would have been difficult. idk, I usually find it difficult to make any music lmao! Thats me for ya xD
someone know music this style? recommned?

Well it isn't exactly easy. Sure you need to have a good bottom end, but to master all of the elements and make a perfect ambient song is hard.

Haha. I hear ya.
I see what you mean with the instrument choice though. It is easy to find random things that sound eery with lots of reverb :P
zaporzan38 2 years ago
yeah thanks for that... so many tracks overdo the high end because the mixers have defened themselves
zimant78 2 years ago
Sounds cool. I like the dark atmosphere of the track.
