Not staged. This is a trick by a mentalist called Max Maven and the name of the effect is called "Shape Up". The spectator can really stop at any ESP card and the outcome will always be the same. Oh and there is only one card in the envelop.
This is a stunt. No presentation, no explaination. For the spectator how do you match the symbol? Without a presentation, the effect is only a card trick. A mentalist transform this into a miracole, Mentalism is an Art, don't destroy it with this kind of useless video (Exept for your own ego). Magic and mentalism are arts for who want to dedicate at the odience experience, not for shows that you are good. Just my opinion. Nothing personal.
i took this test and got them all right, even the pick famous people from 15 photos i got it right this has happened with a class of kids once in 4 years
great trick great effect this effect is not staged i can guarantee or even rigged what happens happens in real time ive been doing thiseffect for some time and great reactions
Just enjoy Magic. This will give you more fun. I play magic also, but I don't know how can the performer do that. However, I do believe that this is not a staged show.
How do we know that wasn't staged? Him choosing a card to put in the envelope wasn't shown and we don't know that the person going through the deck didn't know the card was. Too many open ends in this trick; try covering all the bases next time.

Great, now have him guess 9 more times, and if he gets those all right...then you have a psychic.

i bet it depends on what flap you open determins what the "preiction" is

5 flaps in one small envelope?
IAmTubz 4 years ago
at least 4... top, bottom, left, right,..(maybe)
chuckfrmgamestop 3 years ago
@IAmTubz - Yep. How you rotate or flip the envelope depends on which card you need.

If you think the effect is staged, you haven't thought about it hard enough. The spectator had no clue what card was in the envelope.
