my dad asked my mum to marry hm to this song 60 years ago this week, happy days ,y ou are a tribute and an example to us all! love always your 3 daughtersx
Ezekiel 37 FTW, man. This also reminds me of TS Eliot's The Waste Land--because I'm great at literary analysis like that. Right. But I sure wish I knew how to harmonize, yes sir, I do.
This is one of my favorite songs right now, for some reason. :D I looked up "Dem bones" on Youtube and this was the first selection I clicked on. Love it!
@stjoestrummer The Delta Rhythm Boys were absolutely marvellous performers. I still remember their tv-concert from a Finnish church from the mid 80's I think, where Lee Gaines really could let his awesome bass roll and rumble in this song... Rest in peace, Lee and Hugh, and the Deltas before you, you are loved and remembered.
i/m sure it wasn/t this version, but this version sorta seemed somehow the creepiest. i had the original prisoner dvds, and was surprised at how *modern* (for the time) the music was on them (the beatles penny lane ?). but this one just seemed to creep everywhere. i/ll have to find who did that version ...
wikipedia identifies the version in the 'fall out' episode of the prisoner as being by 'the four lads' - couldn/t find a copy here (didn/t try *all* that hard).
I think it was "All You Need is Love" from the Beatles. Haven't quite figured out why it was in there though. According to several websites the Dem Bones version used was by the Four Lads.
I heard this song when I was a kid in early 1950 during a live performance. Hard to forget because the song was about bones. Here, the Delta River Boys are so good. No, I don't feel my age, so this clip is not posted especially for me. But I enjoyed it very much. Thank you.

that episode of the prisoner made this song one of the few things in my childhood that *scared me to death !*

I always think of The Prisoner when I hear this song. Gives me the creeps. Although I'm pretty sure this was not the version used.

YOU HAVE THE WHOLE SONG. How much "sample" do you actually want?
gestern48 2 years ago 22
what he means im sure is "sampling" this song. it means he wants to take a small segment of it and use it in his own song. thats how studio DJs work.

It's the "Delta Rhythm Boys" not "river" -- they are the best.
GwynneFrench 2 years ago
why don't more groups today do harmonies like this? even stuff like Boyz II Men isn't around anymore. everyone just wants to hear T-Pain.
