  • I want this video on my KC910 Renoir unit.

  • Your vid is popular on Honiara

  • @maidenmadness1 I listened to jeff loomis he's very good.. but i think yngwie malmstien is better.. i yoused to listen to shred, and play it..ive been playing for 29 years ,I can shred awesome.. but I got bored with it..Im glad there is still some shedders out there.. long live Metal!!!

  • @Spectra1Beats I'm guessing he understands tone just fine.

  • so since this video was recorded on july 1987 , and considering that jason was born on july 1969 .. that means that he played it when he was 18 ?!!

    Fuck .. That's way too impressive !

  • This guy is amazing, but the shred wars went out with the 80s.. Page and Hendrix are still the best rock guitarist ever.Jason Becker was a classical shredder, one of the best, but let's face it, shred is dead..the blues rock style is what true rock came from and it still stands the test of time...

  • @ronpoolman1 Lol, are you fucking serious?

Shredders still populate the earth and shred is still popular. Ever heard of Jeff Loomis??

  • @ronpoolman1 Yes i agree, rock was rooted from blues, but shred was most often metal in a neo-classical form, so its unfair to compare. Shred will never be very popular because people feel like they suck after listening to it.

  • God bless Jason and all that went through, well, JFK! God speed.

  • What the fuck

  • @Spectra1Beats And I'll respect your opinion.

  • @Spectra1Beats do you even know who the fuck Jason Becker is and what he accomplished from the time he picked up a guitar until he got ALS at the age of 20? More than anything you will ever accomplish. He accomplished more in the short years he had with a functional body than normal healthy people do in their entire lives. Why do you think top critics have compared Becker with Mozart and Beethoven and Bach.... because the man was a musical genius. People have no respect for true inspirations.

  • I wouldn't be shocked if the pickups caught on fire.

  • DEMON NOT HUMAN

  • PRODIGY

  • some of it does sound a bit sloopy and MarkG80615 is somewhat right about no soul but to be able to play shit like that at around 16 is fucking amazing hands down

  • I will say this verison of the 5th caprice has taken me 6 and 1/2 months to get up to 140-150. By far one of the more demanding technique building compositions.

  • what amp are you useing

  • That's just noise. No sense of meter. No dynamics, NO SOUL.

  • dude... WHAT THE FUCK?

  • Axxe247

You are asshole. How you can giving link from someone big to the some bitch.

  • at :53 he hits a sharp note!

  • Comment removed

  • I'm learning to place this exactly like Jason! It should be perfected in about 1200 years...

  • Who else wishes Jason Becker was never touched by Lou Gehrigs!?

  • This guy now has Lou Gehrig's disease, and is almost as bad off as Steven Hawking. Sad.

  • And this is why I chose to play drums.

  • demasiado talentoso

  • Jason Becker rules. It's really sad what happened to him but at least we have some stuff like this to see how great he was

  • Yngwie Malmsteen! Betcha can't play this!

  • naahh to much distorstion sounds very sloppy he should have paly this on an acoustic with his fingers

  • my dad says if i practice i can be as good or even better than Steve Vai, Jason Becker etc.

    and I reply with

    "HA!"

  • @guitar908 Why not? If they play it it is possible. I want to play like me and incorporate their knowledge. I tell my son the same and he plays Jason Becker at 18. You can do anything you put your mind to if you want it bad enough and you have passion and heart for it. YES YOU CAN or as Steve Vai would say.."I am That".

  • @hickoryou812 you know what your right but god its hard work

  • Oh this doesn't look like it'll be hard *clicks on video* dear lord...

  • for those of you who are going to say that this was sloppy or malsteem is better i want you to listen to his stuff recorded on his cd's and look at where jason is now then comeback here and say thats sloppy (btw im prolly gonna get crap for this but jason is better then malsteem if jason could move malsteem would be dead)

  • that's how i warm up.

  • i saw him on tv sick....so sad his history.....he was a fantastic musician......life sometimes play jokes!!!!!!!!

  • u hit every note and added one or two but u know what ur doing but the tone sucks and u might even be out of tune otherwise great

  • @bad4good100 please search some info about Jason Becker please. thanks

  • All thats missing here is a cumshot.

  • sloopy is the perfect word, malmsteen is king

  • Jason Becker is the only guitarist who cant move his hands and still write better shit than you.

  • Sloppy.

  • well damn. I bet paganini would have liked that.

  • no matter how manty time i hear this i keep adoring it for a whole host of newly forming reasons.

  • Call it sloppy if you want, but Bill gates would give up all his money to be able to do that.

  • AWESOME!!!

  • i actually like the way it sounds

  • "sloppy"? HAHA! I mock you all, you no-good judges of what you will never have even the slightest hope of achieving!

  • @ElgartheWise But it is sloppy.

  • i can play this song perfectly note for note.....by putting on my ipod a pressing play.

  • Jason Becker one of the Greatest

  • I can do this with my eyes closed doing a handstand

  • @idiotboyification

I can do this without using my hands

  • that was that fast that im still trippin ow the shapes...

  • Amazing hurts my ears Screamin cats scratchin each others eye's out after a booze binge

  • O_O his skills were unreal

  • i dont like the sound of electric guitars playing clasicals song but i must say that jason becker is a fkin good guitarrist

  • damn impressive, just wish there were more dynamics. God Bless Jason Becker.

  • man u guys dont even no wat ur talking about i bet ur gear setup is probably worse than his u r probably using a roland cube amp and a crappy paul reed smith so get a life dumbasses

  • look leave the poor guy alone. he's in a fucking wheelchair now and all he can do is blink. now he cant even play guitar anymore

  • lol @ people saying Jason Becker has shitty technique. If you know anything about musical gear, what he is playing is garbage. Plus his sound set-up is horrible for a piece that's better played with clean setting.

  • @Despond dude sriously shut ur fucking mouth u probably dont have a musical bone in ur body ists called improvisation do i need to say it slow for u seriously shut the fuck up

  • No I can read perfectly fine. You fucking moron, my post is DEFENDING Jason Becker. Attain some comprehension skills you fucking deadbeat. Go get two University degrees then come back. I teach music on the SIDE, let alone having studied two instruments for over 10 years domestically.

The idiocy of telling someone to "shut up" when you've completely misread what I initially said. I have over 30k worth of musical equipment, his sound there was shit, I didn't say HE WAS SHIT.

    Fucking idiot, die.

  • he went and ruined it by trying to play it fast. end result was a sloppy sounding recording. idiot! has nothing to do with shitty gear. shitty technique.

  • @ampworx1972 haha, para tocar bien no necesitas de a madres de pedales y unos amps de 200 watts, asshole!

  • god was jealous

  • I can't tell. Is that an Aria Pro II guitar? If yes, I haven't seen one of those in forever.

  • The Devil sold his soul to jason becker.

I met jason, great guy. Very kind.

His account is beckerooski, you should all drop by and say hello :)

  • man. what a monster

  • hes 19 in the video

  • awesome :o

  • I turn 16 in a week.

    Fuck.

    *goes to practise*

  • @ChucklesMginty Hahahhahahaha actually my case

  • Scalloped frets also provide a bit more sustain, supposedly. I myself never have really cared for them though.

  • @slingman6 Actually it's the opposite, you lose some sustain when you scallop your frets.

  • the piece ry cooder played in crossroads

  • wait is it me or the frets are scalloped?

  • It's you.

  • yea...0:54 i thought it was really scalloped... but he doesnt need it

  • wait a minute, is playing with scalloped frets easier then playing with a normal guitar????

  • i played a scalloped guitar: it's more comfortable, looks good, plays fast, and it's better for vibratos and bendings

  • @ivanwulf what is scalloped?

  • when the frets are curved inward rather flat than, harder to play but better vibrato.

  • GOOGLE IT

  • its you? or none care about that? HE WAS A MONSTER

  • is... he can move some fingers and some muscles

  • Brilliant!!! Such a shame that such a talented and beautiful soul as J.B is struck with a disease like ALS and a piece of shit like George Bush (just an example) fucks the world and profits.

  • your right!

  • Excelente!

    Un Saludo!

  • he was amazing those days! and he's still amazing to this day as a human being and composer!!

  • Are you fucking joking? Ive personally seen your fucking spam on tons of guitar videos, what the fuck makes you think anybody will buy this bullshit? Get a real job you lame motherfucker.

  • he was 15 when he played this? :o

  • WTF!!!!!!!!!!...he is so fucking fast!!!..i can't believe that he was 15 when he played this!!...if he was still alive he would have been one of the best guitarists of all time!!

  • he can't play guitar, the guy isnt dead though...

  • He Writes The Music!

  • He is still alive. Just not able to play the guitar. :) Still, you got a point. :)

  • He is still alive, he just has ALS but he continues to compose. Also, I think it is safe to say he is one of the greatest of all time despite the fact that he lost his actual ability to play in his early 20s.

  • @aLeXx1314 He is still alive... He just has ALS...

  • He is Alive

  • This guy was a prodigy. Sloppy or spot on time with a poor recording? I pick the latter.

  • @Uberloinvongenchler No, he's just using good distortion, so extra, unwanted notes randomly play out.

  • at one point his fingers look like a spider, the spider walk

  • hes like 16 or 17 teen Geez ..love to see anyone here do better ?

  • that sounds cheap

  • Quite good!

  • godly

  • That's..... Just not right....

  • He definitely sold his soul to the devil...

  • @ToothDecay7758 i know man and now look at what lucifer did

  • @ToothDecay7758 then the devil got jealous and took his ability to play too

  • @ToothDecay7758 he is the devil

  • @ToothDecay7758 i would..

  • wat are you twats on about? Its not sloppy, hes using shitty gear and its poor quality camera sound recording. Hes 15 in the video also

  • @ToxikWaltz actually he is 18 in the video, anyway, pure genius ;)

  • @ToxikWaltz what !? are you shitting me XD?!

  • @ToxikWaltz He wasn't fifteen, he was eighteen, but still damn good at that age

  • @ToxikWaltz he was born in 1969

    so in 1987 he couldn`t be 15 ¬¬

  • @ToxikWaltz It's not sloppy because he's 15?

  • @xTiLkx it's not sloppy because now he has MS and can't play anymore and people told him he could never play any of this in the first place so fuck off because he's one of the greatest.

  • @thatguyfromaylmer lmao, how does that argument, in any way possible, connects with him playing sloppy in THIS vid?

Yes, I know his story. And yes, if he would still be able to play he might even be technically equally or even more skilled than Shawn Lane, but why delude yourself into thinking this isn't sloppy playing? I'm not saying his skills are sloppy, the amount of people who were able to do this at the age of 15 can be counted on one hand? But this vid is. Think before you start ranting.

  • @xTiLkx you have shit in your skull

  • @ToxikWaltz he sounds great. totally not sloppy or forced. Emotive and badass totally.

  • @ToxikWaltz it says 1987 he was born in 1969 so hes 18 in this video

  • @ToxikWaltz they are just picking on the guy because he could still outplay them today even in a wheelchair.

toxic waltz = awesome by the way

  • @ToxikWaltz and in the 80' s the hd tech didnt even exist.

  • He got one right note at about 1.43 What a shambles . LOL .

  • he didnt play the whole song

  • he aint clean

  • Yea pretty sloppy

  • It's sloppy idiots cause here he is 15 years old or something..I bet you couldn't play that stuff at this age.

  • he was 17

  • u no i was playing like that once ... i was 15

u wanna no what my daddy did?

HE PUT HIS FUKIN CIGARETTE OUT ON MY NECK

  • but he is fast

  • you seem to have overlooked the fact he was 17 do this at 17 and ill have complete musical respect for you clean or not

  • @concussedcarneous This is like probably when he's 17 or something

  • alright fine ok

    fuck!

can we agree he's just sloppy?

  • @concussedcarneous lol yeah he is a bit sloppy in this one...still impressive though really heats up towards the end

  • @concussedcarneous No, we can't. Because he isn't sloppy. *facepalm*

  • All you shit talkers put up or shut up. This is pretty damn good especially considering his experience up to this point.

  • @concussedcarneous well he also aint steve vai.....just sayin

  • Hmm, don't know about Jason Becker being God. I mean he didn't create this, Paganini did. It does bring into question if Jason Becker exists, well I suppose if man created God, he created Becker as well. But seeing as God is a metaphysical creation built upon a book of stories which was edited over a thousand years ago....etc.

  • I like the part he played fast

  • some percision

  • this was crazy...and now a days there are some people who say "he has been lost in history".........my god!!!.....

    you will never die jason.

  • Yeah..Jason Becker was a beast back in that day when everyone was into that neo-classical guitar. I believe he, Paul Gilbert and there was someone named McAlpine..they were the best of the bunch..outside of Yngwie.

  • his final smile tells that capricce it's nothing for him...

  • HOW ARE HIS FINGERS NOT TIRED!

  • Called exercise :P

  • HOLY MOTHER ! O.O

  • i bow in homage

  • umm wow..

  • Song?? caprice=exercise

  • it's one of Paganini's famous caprices...

  • hard to believe he was only 17 when he did this

  • what hapend to this guy?

  • he got ALS - he can only move his eyelids - look him up on wikipedia

  • It's such a shame this guy is immobile now...

  • eugenes trick bag? crossroads battle? i didnt know it was paganinis haha

  • Fuckn sweet. cant believe he probably figured that out by ear lol. just luv it =]

  • hasta el pincho

  • whats all the sqeaky sound
