  • cool nice turtles but your voice kinda sounds gay thanx for the video post take care =)

  • if all ur turtles cant fit in the dock buy a bigger one and put it on

  • This is a good lesson out there for those of you considering a pet turtle. Red Ear Sliders get to be around 10". So unless you are sure you will be able to give them at least a 100 gallon tank by then or have a personal outdoor pond do not get!

Musk and Map turtles will make a better pet for those that are looking for a smaller turtle.

  • i have 5 RES and they are 6 months old living in a tank and all fit on the basking dock fine

  • cant wait till my turtle get this big this fast :O

  • 6 people outgrew their tanks

  • u sound like u could be a turtle.....

  • these days

  • thos arnt red ears

  • @isaiah911i yes they are.

  • @isaiah911i learn to fucking type

  • you could go to Walmart to buy a 10 dollar pond for your turtles if your in fresno

  • dude wtf that torture to them

  • i♥your tank !!!! how many gallons is it ?

  • ...can anyone please make a vid of how to release a res turtle..? i might release mine and i don't know what to do

  • @titanic98810 if you are going to release it, then please release it to a reptile rescue centre. Any animal bred and kept in captivity as pets will not know how to feed or protect itself in the wild. By releasing it into the wild you are only going to kill it. :(

  • buy a turtle topper that is a lot of extra space

  • buy a turtle topper that is a lot of extra space

  • what do you feed water turtles?

  • Four Months!

  • Is it hard taking care of them? is the maintenance for them hard, easy or okay?

  • not even 4 months old! I recently got 2 new born red ear sliders that are about 1 inch each in a 15 gallon. good thing that i already bought a 200 gallon tank of of craigslist for $50 =D

  • what do you feed them?

  • No thank you for help I got 8 turtles now 2 juveniles 4 an a half inches :)

  • HELP!! Igot 7 RES. 1 is 4 inches, 4 turtles 2 inches, 2 turtles 1 inches! And they live in a 29 gallon tank and they fit(check my vid) and they seem to fit. In 2 years I'm upgradeing to a 125 gallon tank? Is that the right size for my future 1 adult, 4 juveniles.2 juveniles? Plz answer me or I should get 2?

  • what the hell there 4 months old and they are about 4in. thats like an inch per month THATS CRAZY!!! my turtle is five months old and is only 2.5"

  • lol i have tht same basking platform....

  • It's always best to start out with a big tank. Even if your turtle only fits in the palm of your hand. They DO NOT grow to their environment like most shop owners will tell you. This is so you will keep coming back and buying a bigger tank while your turtle grows. Always start out big.

  • wow if any of you see my channel, you'll see a video of my 6 months old turtle and its not even 3 inches. i think its because it hasnt had exposure to uvb

  • Your accent is fucking weird. I like it :)

  • i have a question, sould i buy a tank then have half of it water and the other have land? the water will be no greater than 4inches

  • @mogoshark no make all of it water depp water and a basking area

  • dried shrimp is supposed to be treat !

  • hahaha awesome

  • This is why turtles are not a good "pet" for most people. I bought a 4 foot tank, $300 canister filter and the biggest turtle dock i could get. Now i just spent annother $425 on a 300 gallon (1136) liter pond and still have to buy a pond pump and make/buy annother filter for the pond.

    5 Red ear sliders

    1 Map turtle

    1 Cooter

  • He obviously overfed them, which is why they are so big at 4 months old. Their shells show signs of pyramiding.

  • it so happened that my 4 turtles are slowly outgrowing their tank too.

hence, 'll start to dig up a pond for them in 4 months time from now.

but heck! the expenses are gonna be insane =/

  • wow, where do i start? you sound like a douche, talk like a douche and your turtles are way past crammed in that 10 gal, lol looks like u cant use a saw wirht shit either. lmao cut it again lazy, n you havent even got anything for them "we gotta rebuy all new stuff" all u got is heater n w/e filter some lil dock n lil hiding spot, put some thought into it man jeeze

  • Do these turtles spend most of their time in the water? What's the ratio? Like, 90 water/10 land?

  • my turtle is a baby and it is7 months old and its still only around 4 inches...

  • this guy sounds like a turtle lmaooooo

  • 4 months?!wow my turtles are like 3 years old and they're about the same size just a little bigger. lol.

  • I have a 52 gallon for mine.

  • that dude is not 4 months old he is like 7 pretty cool vid im gonna strt puttin up some vids of my 2 yr old res

  • i love my turtles, they get a 20 gallon tank with 4 filters XD, and they get a water and gravel change every weekend, 1 is about a year and a month and the other is about 3 months, do NOT over stock on turtles, it will cause thier death ~.~ and we all dont like that now do we

  • @10foldexolithium i'm going o get a red eared turtle nd getting them a 75 galleon tank

  • lol @ 2:00 he's just like "ooo sea food *CHOMP* hey where'd it go?"

  • Dude seriously, my turtle is going on 5 months and hes under 3inches. WTF, I think I may have a midget turtle.....uhhmm sorry.... I meant little turtle. No offense to midgets of all species.

  • @jalbm222 That's completely normal. They usually reach 4 inches around a year to a year and a half and then grow about 1 inch per year until maturation, slowing as the years progress.

  • soo it doesnt matter that i have 4 turtles in 1 tank

  • i have a red eared turtle.. hes like 5 years old.. like how many feeder fishes should i feed him?

  • Go big when upgrading. I would do atleast a 75 gallon tank. My sliders hit 11+ and was huge!

  • WOW, my res is 6 months and not even half that big.

  • @Heatherandharry I have had my red eared sliders for ten years, and they are huge, like as big as a salad plate. My male is slightly smaller than my female. Umm, honestly, I would get the biggest tank possible that is in your price range. I started out with a ten gallon tank when I first got my turtles and I have had to upgrade four times in ten years, which has been quite expensive......

  • 4 inches in 4 months? how big is the tank?

  • mine is older than four momths and its not as big as those.

  • im gettin one of these. wat should i feed it

  • Younger turtles tend to be more carnivorous. Try krill, chicken, shrimp, and worms. Also, try balancing their diet with lettuce and other leafy stuff!

  • Wow i got my turtle in June and now its January and he is a little bigger but he is still alot smaller than those turtles you got O.O

  • When I get the lamp for the turtle how long should I let the light on?

  • 12 on 12 off

  • Holy shit! I had a 3 year old RES and he was only 2 inches long! He ate like crazy too... wonder why he didnt grow.

  • I don't know if this is true, but I heard that the bigger the tank the bigger the turtle...

  • yup bigger tank = happy turtle

  • sorry i read wrong it doesnt matter the tank size they will still get big

  • 4 months old? they look huge

  • holy crap not 4 months old and they grew that fast!?!!?!?

  • can some 1 tell me what will happen if i dont have a heating lamp for my two baby red eared sliders i just have a heater no filter or light or a place 2 bask wat will happen and they are in a 10 gallon

  • @MrJahsheemangus2 can you post a video?

  • At least have a place to bask... they need to breathe and relax...

  • you will need at least 100 gallons per adult redear.

  • one of my red eared sliders hase 1 red spot on is neck and 1 on his leg and a tiny one on his eye. its is alot less active plz help i realy love my turtles

  • well that means it like got hurt because when i bought my new one today and there was a one w/ a red spot on its neck and it actually was BLOOD and they said it got in a fight and hurt it self ur turtle might be inured and

    die?

  • cool turtles i have 5 turtle 2 which r Red Eared Sliders check out my vids one is still a baby

  • how many gallons is this tank? i know ur getting a bigger one im just curious

  • you need 350 + gallons for those three just so you know.

  • are you a bitch no you dont that would be better but they cost like 500$ they only need a 125 gallon for 3

  • 125 for 1 female unless you want jail cell they get12 inchs biatch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!dummie

  • yea only females fucker when they get 12 inches you dont put them in a tank you get a little pool with a heater and they live in that biotch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!dummie

  • you can't leave pets out in the wild. animals that have never lived in the wild will die a painful death outside by either starvation or predators. only stupid people will do that

  • which animal can eat a turtle ? a turtle has a strong shell and is able survive alone because it is omnivore and it can eat anything ! even a turtle is able to live during months without food !

  • Birds, dogs and large reptiles eats turtles. And not all lakes have turtles there naturally, introducing a environment to a new specie can be deadly for existing species. thought turtles are good to adapt, not all will know how to get food, most turtles have the luxury of being fed. A aquarium is NOT the same as a lake

  • @KiwamuTheKappa i dont know becuse i live near this huge pond wich are full of huge red ear slider turtles

  • I had my turtle tank in my backyard. Is that bad?

  • @shatterstarbox as on as they are safe from predators (or thieves) and they have the required temperature it should be fine, but I would have taken them in for the night

  • I had a painted turtle and a RES. The RES was always at the bottom the painting turtle was always at the top. The painted turtle escaped and I never saw it again. But I still have the RES.

  • @shatterstarbox don't know about other turtles, but RES are insane good to climb. Mine scales a chicken fence 4 times their own length (nose to tail) with ease, so having something to cover the tank is wise, or have a good water line so the turtles can't climb out of it.

  • @KiwamuTheKappa gr8 thanks for that!! reason. some other are against of this...

  • @KiwamuTheKappahealthy turtle should b just fine...OFcourseUneed to findAgood place/new home forAturtle... read ear slider is an invasive species inEurope.because they can adopt to a" new" place VERY EASY :) and ITis not an European turtle.I bought myself a read ear slider whenIwas17and for next 6y i really cared for him and i did everything to create good habitat for my pet... i seen many EXTREME dirty turtle tanks and when i had to move to US i decidedTOgiveMYturtleAfreedom.

  • ... i let them walk on thier house but we do not have POND! =(

  • can RES drown?

  • Anything can drown if they don't have anything to climb on.

  • @Lizarrdo How about fish, dumbass.

  • @OscarzNTurtlez Retard.

  • @Lizarrdo fish?

  • they can drown if they get trapped underwater.

  • I have 2 of them if i get a few more will they fight?

  • yes.Exept if they are female and male

  • Is it better to have more than one RES in the same tank? I am planning on getting a RES turtle, but was only thinking about getting one.

  • i only have one, but they might be happier with more

  • if your turtle is male buy a female,if it is female buy a male

  • it depends one female res needs atleast a 100 gallon if u want only one get a female more than one get males

  • My turtles are definately outgrowing their 10 gal tank too, like yours, mine are eating like crazy they love that Reptomin.

What kind of water filter are you using?

  • yes consider getting a 50 gallon aquarium. Yes they love to eat. Consider getting another basking rock.

  • u shoud get a waterland tub like my 1,they do 8 foot 1 for about £330

  • 1. copy and paste

    2. send this to 9 other videos.

    3. hold your breath for 10 seconds

    4. press refresh twice

    3. LOOK AT YOUR BACKGROUND IT WILL BE FREAKY

  • Comment removed

  • your filter is not to small i have the same filter in a 20 gallon long tank with 7 turtles and goldfish for food also a alge eater and my take is crystal clear so u dont have to get a new filter as for the dock u going to want to purchase the large size the one u have is the small one

  • i have 2 turtles and when both go on the dock it falls and i have two of them

  • ha my turtle is biger than my hand!

  • Did you hatch them yourself?

  • damn 4 inches in 4 months? i have had mine for 7 months or so and its only 2 inches

  • Kraezeeace

Maybe you should feed it some more. Don't all of a sudden feed it like a lot...rather...gradually give more.

  • wtf are you talking aboutt..thats soo not a 10 galllon tank. there not 4 months because mine is tiny and its 4 months. you dont know what your talking aboutt.

  • Your heater does not affect the turtle when they touches it???

  • hold up whats pyramiding ?

    and whats a terrapins?

  • pyramiding = getting pyramide shape's on their shield its like they get spikes in pyramide shape (not really good)

    terrapins = terrapins

  • Your turtles are pyramiding. That's not a good thing.

But since this video is 2 years old, I hope your turtles are better now.

  • can 1 FULL GROWN red eared slider live in a 55 gallon?

  • turtles need at least 10 gallons of water per inch of turtle..... so ten gallons is way to small. if you have three 4 inch res then you need a 120 gallon tank.. i would take the fish out as well...

  • is it normal for them to try to attack the fishes? o_O

  • If you're putting fish in the tank, the fish are usually for eating. Don't put fish in that you don't want eaten/harassed!

  • lol yeah, they're omnivorous

  • @NguyenEmpir3 yes i buy mine some living fishes that they have fun and hunt theif own food^^

  • @NguyenEmpir3 yeah!! turtles love to eat fishes!! especially mi noes and guppies!! get 10 for $1

  • @NguyenEmpir3 Yes lol, they eat them eventually.

  • @NguyenEmpir3 haha they eat fish look it up here on youtube

  • @NguyenEmpir3 yes? in nature they only eat fish o.o

  • @NguyenEmpir3 yeahhhhh

    they think everything is food

  • @NguyenEmpir3 Yes It is... Don't be surprised if you wake up and you see your turtle eating a fish or a fish is gone... I think feeding them insects, worms etc. will make it more rare, I think, I'm not too sure...

  • @NguyenEmpir3 yes of course, they are still predators :)

  • @NguyenEmpir3 yes, they do eat fish...

  • @NguyenEmpir3 yes it is normal and if your turtle bites the other turtles put fishes in to distract and the turtle that bite will stop

  • four months?? i've had mine for 3 and it's about half as big..hm

  • nice video turtoooooooooos rouck

  • your turtles are soooooooooooooo cute!!!!!!!!

  • when you get a bigger tank it should be at least 75 gallons because red eared sliders get at least 8 inches

  • You sure you fed them 3 shrimps. Cause turtles from a quarter size dont grow 4 inches in less than 4 months like that. My turtle is like 3 inches and I bought him when we was a quarter and for me its been about a year and a half and I feed him 4 long pellets a day!

  • its growth also depends on wether or not its a male or female...

females are much larger and males are smaller

  • I have a female.

  • Turtles can drown, so the cave thing is indeed a big worry. I would make the hole much much larger than the turtles or remove it from the enclosure.

  • does she need a bigger tank?

  • do they fight alot. beware of over feeding. you should look at my tank it offers large land area

  • when i feed my turtles dried shrimp, they sometimes get stuck on their head. one of them tries to get it and they fight for a second or two then stops.

  • noob sauce

  • noooooooo really!

  • That cave thing is a worry they get stuck

  • how often do u feed them?

  • 3 shrimps per turtle. If you have pellets and they are babies, split them in half and give them 3 half-pellets

  • are the turtles male or female? is that the fully grown size for RES? please reply because i might be getting some for my birthday in 17 days and need to know about them. i am also looking on the internet to get information. thanks

  • i vant help but laugh at the turtles, they look funny going into that dome

  • Nice video. However; I dont recommend releasing a pet turtle or any pet into the wild; it would be hard for them to adapt and hunt their food.

  • the first turtle looks like she is pyramiding....

  • i wanna know if it ok to the turtle to change the skin of shell ?

  • We are now on our third tank for our Red Eared Slider and the on that we were on is fourty gallons. We spent about 300 dollars on her on the new tank rocks a new filter and a stand because the tank was so big.

  • yur only supposed keep 8 inches of any reptile(s) in a ten gallon tank right?

  • Your turtle might survive in the wild, but it will cause a disturbance in the ecosystem plus im pretty sure it's illegal

  • nice turtles!

I have 3 RES and they live in a pond. today i found one of them swimming around like a MAD FISH, totally stressed out!

So i had a close look and she had a big bee sting under her neck, it is now removed. she is six months old. think she will die?? is there anything i can do??

  • I like your video, I have had three res for about two months now and I need to get a bigger tank, what would be the appropriate size of tank to buy for three full grown turtles.

  • Hey wheres the your heat lamp?

  • your just showing off to people who don't know about turtles that you do. trust me public everyone with turtles knows this.

  • NO u cant use drift wood, trust me

  • how come

  • can you just have like chunk of wood for them to get on?????

  • i'll keeep my turtles in their 50gal tank until they get bigger then my hand then ill buid a pond for them instead of beign a dummy buying a big as tank for a turtle

  • dude 2 things you need gravel on the bottom and your water is too deep

and i have two turtles and i have a dock but they strugle to get on top of it

  • Red eared sliders love to swim they like deep water

gravel can be dangerous as they can eat it i also i have 2 red ear sliders

water is a bit deeper than that

    they dont struggle at all

  • Oh, mine are bigger than my hand. But I think you shouldn't worry as long as she is eating and acting normal. Especially having her in such a huge tank she must be happy! I dont know how fast they grow. They usually grow fastest in the first and second year. :)
