CES 2010: Intel i3 Processor

hi i need some help. Im thinking of buying dell's xps 8200 ( DESKTOP) , and i have no idea about computers, so help me!! I want to run, black ops, crysis 2, adobe after effects, photoshop, premiere, probably more video editing and photoediting stuff. Would it be okay to get the i3 proccessor thing. Because they recommend it just for surfing the internet, i can't really afford the i7, so i3 or i5?

there is really minimal performance difference between this and a similarly clocked Core 2 Duo, the only real difference is battery life, and even that's not staggering.

Guys I need some help, I need to decide which computer to buy. One of them has a Core i7 720 with 230gtm and 6 gb ram. The other one has a Dual Core Processor at 2.16ghz and a gtx 260m and 6 gb ram. They both have 7200 rpm hdds and I want to know which one would be good for multi tasking and playing games like Combat Arms, Fall-Out 3, and WoW

i3 is kind of a fail ONLY for desktop computers, really it should only be i5 or i7 for desktops. otherwise i3 + 4 GB RAM with SSD on a laptop for $800 or under would be nice.
