Sorry for the delayed reply. This was at Waco Montana, near Yellowstone River. The location is about 5 miles East of Pompeys Pillar.

How did you manage to get the sound so good from what appears to be a distance?

My digital camera. (HP R707... Must be a pretty good one!) The camera does capture really good sound most of the time. My last camera (Gateway) had very poor sound quality.
