  • is she related to vlad the inhaler?

  • She's hot.

  • I'm amazed at how gullible people are.

If you look at provable historical evidence surrounding the case of Bathory and its historical/political context, it looks convincingly like a frame-up. A powerful protestant woman in the Holy Roman Empire, with lots of jealous noblemen wanting her lands? Amazing how a little torture of an old woman (sorry, a "witch") and a dwarf (!) can yield confessions of Bathory's "satanic" activities.

    Grow up, people, FFS.

  • @crapatev thats why its called "a legend". are you going to yell at little children for believing in santa and the tooth fairy? -_- and also, how much "historical evidence" have you looked at with your two eyes, other than good ol' wikipedia and the "world wide web"? let people believe what they want, and stop dumbing them down.

  • KPOPP ANYONE!?

  • She's so interesting! I find most psychopaths are. Especially the women.

  • My friends say I'm the reincarnation of Elizabeth Bathory. Sometimes, I think that's true.

  • @Anilucard1

You're not alone on that and my name means Elizabeth, so that's worse..

  • @gothvamp133 My name IS Elizabeth.

  • @Anilucard1 My name is Elisabetta, translated in English is Elizabeth... (I'm Italian)

  • Vlad the Impaler was not the inspiration for Count Dracula, just where Stoker got the name. If anyone, this little beauty queen was that.

  • @IXB34RXI Actually he was a small inspiration, as was she. Not to mention they were related. Stoker to many ideas from various real people and Eastern European folklore to write his novel. Including real accounts from Dracula's life ( battling the turks etc...impalements....).

  • @1981kmal You sure they were related? I don't know how familiar you are with the Magyars (Hungarians), but they've been a very separate group, unrelated to any around them for thousands of years. Their closest linguistic relatives are the Finns and Estonians...

  • @IXB34RXI I am pretty sure, at least all the research I have done or encountered claims that they were distant cousins. Hard to find concrete bloodline information. But you have to remember....back then families were also interbred. Like western European nobility and royalty..almost every country in connected through marriage.

  • fake and gay

  • elizabeth bathory ftw

  • Hitler would love her

  • Try sleep thre :S

  • i would tap that

  • Have u checked out that new audio drama about the Countess at 3Dhorrorfi? It's pretty creepy. BLOOD & STONE it's called.

  • if u believe in ghosts and urban legends go to scary for kids .com its a cool scary site

  • she is crazy bitch if u want to read about the blood whore (countess) go to scary for kids .com

  • her story is very creepy and bloody groooose.

  • can someone send me the English translation of the text?

i can't understand German(or whatever it is) very much

  • Haplogroup M is considered as the Asian / Mongoloid gen. Slovak genetic structure contains the Haplogroup M. Hungarians haven't haplogroup M. It shows who are the real Asians..... Just google it!

  • @celebration81 How can Slovaks be the real Asians If they are Slavic people. Do you mean that Slavic peoples are Asians???lol !

  • @strondalam30 Spoken language doesn't mean real biological genetical origin. Learn genetics, (which is a real science) instead of your romantic nationalistic fantasy. It is the only explanation, why slovaks have darker average pigmentation (hair eye color) than Hungarians.

  • @celebration81 Thank You ,that is very interesting. My children are half Slovakian and people are always asking if they have Chinese or Mongolian in them because of their facial features.

  • there's no countess Dracula... there is/was no vampire Dracula.

a man lived by that name 600 years ago and he died at the age of 45, then some irish wannabe writer couldn't invent a name so he took his.

    EOS...end of story.

  • @Kamadeva01 Dracula (actually is Drakulya) it was more a surname/tittle by which Vlad III was referred after joining the Order of the Dragon (monarchical chivalric order who fought the Turks) and it means "son of the Dragon", his father Vlad II was also in the Order and referred as "Dracul" (The Dragon).

Alzbeta Batoriova (real name) was a noble so she get a life sentence while her servants Dorka, Ilona Jó (put to the fire for witchcraft) and Ficko were put to death.

  • @DocStrange0123 really, thanks for the attempt to make it clear but i already know who Dracula was and what his name stands for...we kinda share the same etnicity.

  • English!!!!! Plz!!!!!!!!!

  • COUNTESSSSSSSS BATHORAY!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I'd like to believe that the 600+ victims part is just hearsay. Things couldve been exagerated over the years.

  • she was very good but made a stupid mistake

  • the thing that scared me the most is that it really happened...

  • I actually looked it up because i am writing a book on serial killers. And the countess was actually in the Guinness book as the greatest murderess of all time. she had killed 600 virgins to me out of all the killers im working on she is the scariest. Cause she had so much power over alot of people they trusted her. and that makes her the worst in my book.

  • english plz?

  • im not the type of person to feel creeped out cause my room is full of creepy stuff but the paintings of Bathory creep me out she looks really creepy if i seen her Spirit i would probably die from a heart attack

  • @MegaAzazel666 id like to see ur creepy stuff. im into horror stuff like this n clive barker

  • @Pfalzgreven.. nope.. try the 16th!! u'll find it more efficient:))

  • Eine wirklich kranke Frau

  • WOW does anyone know where to search for the type of jewelry at 3:10.

  • Try the 17th century!

  • I meant on google or something lol

  • LOL ;)

  • :P.

  • Yes this movie is really good and i must to say the countess Batory was ill and that why she murdered

  • translation please..

    lol

  • @XXkisseXX the translation: she never bathed in blood. a professor has proofed that because blood doesn´t stay liquid that long. but she drank the monthly blood of young girls hoping to become younger and more beautyful because she was never very pretty herself. neutral view: she envied real beauty, as I read it.

she began to murder girls after seeing her husband having sex with another woman.

i hope the translation is ok like that ;D

  • creepy... why would she drink blood?

  • beleiving it would preserve her youth

and she had a sadistic streak

  • What about all the tortures, the cruelties, the seeming lesbian penchant, herself being abused as a young girl, practice of black magic, the total of about 650 victims, etc is all that still seriously believed?

  • @WinterwolfFFM she started killing because her husband died

  • to bad i cant read slovakian...good video though.

  • Its german though, hehe

  • yea hahaha i just noticed by taking another look on how the words are spelled....now its to bad i cant read german or slovakian..damn haha.

  • There was another movie"Countess Dracula"by Hammer Films.I dont know how accurate the film was but it was a good movie

  • What an absolutely brilliant video! Wonderful images & very imformative. It's a favourite.

Ein absolut ausgezeichnetes video! Voller Infoformation.

Ich habe ein grosszügige Bewertung gegeben. Machen Sie bitte weiter!!

If your interest lies with Elisabeth Bathory, you may like to view my video on the long lost painting of her.

  • hey 1812, james madison was alive D: like woah. so her husband was that vampire dracula or something? i like how they made a movie with her, Stay Alive, it was pretty beast.

  • Many people with power got away with murder in those days and she almost did except she made a big mistake when the last girl got away and told what happened inside the castle. Elizabeth just happened to get caught. Think about how many actually got away with murder because of their power Its the same in the world today. Nothing has changed really Missing adults and children all over the world each and every day What do you all suppose is happening to them.? The powerful still rule

  • Id love to meet, this woman. .and talk to her, and see what was going on threw her mind, and Id love to meet one of her victims, and speak to them and see how she got them. .

Though, id like to do it with a nice large gun, and some body guards, with her in a steel room. .lol

  • I wish I could read this

  • CTHULUgreatoldone go suck a dick you prude i was just justifing what i think what the hell is ur problem if you take the time to replay to this comment i know your life is in the shitter

  • Her name sounds for like Elizabitch and She is one badass.

  • oh murdering innocent peopel in cold blood is badass?that is interesting

  • Indeed.

  • ich liebe dich elizabeeeth!!!!!!

haha gott, ich bin total verliebt, dein vid is cool, schöne fotos =D

  • she's the best EVEr, I love her so much, I've drank others blood, I've had it on my skin, it´s like WOOW *___*

the best experience ever, she was so perfect!

  • what the FUCK?are you SERIOUS...do you understand that this woman killed INNOCENT people?she was a mass murderer..she brutally murdered 600 innocent girls and bathed in their blood that is fvcking PSYCHOTIC..am,azing that people like you would actually PRAISE someone like taht.

  • yes, I am totally serious, I made a presentation about her... the idea was to present a short bio about a recognized woman in history and say why we admire them and that... my teacher said really bad things about me.. I don't care, she's a fucking slut and she knows. Elizabeth is really important to me, she's fabulous, she has a lot in common with me and I admire her a lot, I want to be like her in some aspects that sadly I'm not yet. My teacher made me write why I admire her and I wrote 8 pages

  • hmm sorry... but I have a question for you....... what the hell do you mean with """people like you"""?????

that's something that you people should learn.. there's NO people like me, there's no people like people.... each person has their ideas and opinions... and between likes and likes there are no dislikes... if they are, then it's not my problem... and if anyone ever tells you something like that, then tell them, it's not your problem if they like it or not, it's their problem!

  • if a certin group of people are exposed to the same things they become similar

thats why steriotypes useually are true

im just saying dont wear a star of david in iran because you think all people choose their opinions. some people are forced opinions

  • hmm yeah, that's right, but that's not my case, I choose what I want, I don't give a fuck of what they say or think about it.... I have a lot of problems in my family, in my school, in my life.. just because I'm completely different, none I know has my same ideas, thoughs, feelings, likes, abilities, nothign! I don't have 1 steriotype, I have many and one of them is my own person....

  • So you admire a mass murdering phyco path women???

    ummmm...WTF

  • I admire Elizabeth and some other people of history that are not really angels...

  • why??

  • because they have a lot of things that people don't see and don't wanna see....

and that things have a lot to do with me...

like Elizabeth, she used to have neurologic problems, something like epilepsia, none knows what exactly, but anyway, she had combultions and a lot of violent attacks.... and she recovered, she overcame it in a time where medicine was not enough. and that was my case 2, but with the difference that I was treated and took a lot of pills and shit and now I'm... fine.

  • is easy, there's a lot about these people that "normal humans" don't see or understand.... I love that things

    AND...

    I'm a fucking sadic bitch x'D

I hate to see an animal suffering, bleeding or sying, but a human? gosh, you don't know how I enjoy it.... I can live without eating meat of animals, but human meat... haha I could eat it without feeling bad

  • It doesent change the fact she murdered 600 people..

  • yes, I know it doesn't..... but as I just told you I'm a fucking sadic bitch and well, I hate when animals suffer... but I love when people do, I like to see their pain, their fears... they deserve it....... (maybe me 2, I'm almost sure I deserve it too)

    I love her, that's it.

  • you need to seek help

  • thanks, but I have no time to waste on that

  • Comment removed

  • Kri, you are a beautiful girl with a beautiful voice. There are others in your shoes right now, I promise. It's a part of life, to go through the feelings you suffer. But I'm telling you girl, it WILL pass and you will be better for it. I hope life goes well for you, because that is something you really DO deserve.

  • wooow *__*

thanks a loot! really, I appreciate this soo much <3<3

hmm, well, pain is something that I've been living since before I knew I was alive... but this is really nice, so thanks again and lets hope so..... and well, maybe I don't deserve it, but I think I deserve a chance to try it =P

  • thanks for this again, but I have a question...

    what made you think that?

  • oh and yes, I understood what you said in your other coment =) that's pretty nice as I said and well, I'm sure that you can improve it =) I'm not that good at english, so it's ok =)

thanks for everything you said... I just think I'm weird (different), crazy and take it easy haha that's why I put that vids here xD

I think you're pretty nice and cool person...

sadly I have no way to see you =/

  • ooh, just one more thing...

I DO like to see people suffering, I swear it, I've seen it and when they deserve it I enjoy it like no other!

I'm not "dumb ass"... I'm goth, yeah, kind of... but I'm not a kid... maybe I'm the age of one, but life makes me grow everyday and I feel sorry for all that people who don't know me and talk pretending they do...

    I DON'T think I'm a vampire... that's soo stupid....

I like them, a LOT, I LOVE blood (because red is my favourite color after BLACK)...

  • but I won't pretend to be something that people made up... I have my own ideas, imagination, phylosophy...... and if I'm something I'm the only one who knows about it, so vampire?? .... is the wrong answer for me.

  • Hey, I do apologize for the meaner of the three comments. I don't think anything I said in that was true, I was just barking. So, I'm sorry. But I am glad you understood my comment I left in Spanish xD good to know I'm getting better. And it's really cool that you can be all those things, your own woman. Just....don't let those idea get you into too much trouble =]

  • hmm ok, don't worry =)

well, I just wrote a comment saying I liked this, then ppl started discussing and I answered cause I'm in holidays and don't have anything better to do... but thanks and well, this is my last answer here.

    4. you changed something you liked just for nothing

  • My grandmother has researched our family history, and she discovered that we are related to both Elizabeth and Vlad the Impaler. I always thought that was interesting blood in the family.

  • HOLY SHIT AWESOMESAUCE!!! that would be crazy... watch out for lots of mental diseases.

  • May Elisabeth Bathory burn in hell as she deserve.

  • Vlad and my ancestor were good friends! Vlad liked to stay at the castle.

  • oh what being related to psychotic mass murdering sociopaths is INTERESTING...?maybe you willl get lucky and find out you are related to adolf hitler...

  • damn, you're just like heer!!

yeah, I agree with you, this Motherfucking society is completely sick and idiot, people are the worst shit EVER and that's why I admire people like Elizabeth and many others.. but believe me, she had much much more that many admire and if people don't admire at least 1 little thing about her knowing her story, then it's because they're even more idiot than what I always thought..

  • Are you a writter? That was an excellent compendium of this horrific event. You were concise and historically accurate on every major incident, but you never got bogged down in the minutiae...wish I could write like that!!!!

  • english motha $^&&^%$ do you speak it??

  • OK WTF I have been looking for some real info on this women with very little luck. Now this german stuff. It's too funny.

  • She was a real person did a project killed more than 600 girls real said and drank their blood and sometimes made them eat each other for her entertainment and also had her aunt who was gay totally sad and she was the Dracula of her time and also lived in the same castle as him too. Weird to me but i wouldn't blame her she got married at the age of 14 so some dude really weird called him the prince of darkness and she had about 4 kids or less and ya totally told you more then this film i hope!!!

  • that sounds like in africa how some bad people make little girls eat each other alive( not every one there just bad people ) and if they dont eat them they are killed .....thats just what that reminds me of ... my freind saw a doco ....evil shit !

  • ok im going to correct your words with acctual facts. here's her biography. this may take a few boxes...

Elizabeth Bathory was born in Hungary in 1560, approximately a hundred years after Vlad the Impaler died. One of her ancestors Prince Steven Bathory, was even a commanding officer who helped Vlad Dracula In 1546, when he claim the throne in Wallachia back again.

  • At the time Elizabeth was born, her parents George and Anna Bathory belonged to one of the oldest and wealthiest families in the country. Her cousin was the prime minister in Hungary, another relative was cardinal, and her uncle Stephan later became King of Poland. But the Bathory-family, beside the very rich and famous, also contained some very strange relatives. One uncle was known to be a devil-worshipper, and other members of the family were mental insane and perverted.

  • In the spring 1575, at the age of 15, Elizabeth was married to Count Ferencz Nadasdy, who was 25. The Count added her surname to his, so Elizabeth could keep her family name Bathory. After the marriage they moved to Castle Csejthe a mountaintop fortress overlooking the village of Csejthe, which lies in the north-western part of Hungary. Count Ferencz spent a great deal of time away from home, often fighting against the Turks.

  • He was a very brave and daring soldier on the battlefield, and later in life he earned a reputation as the "Black Hero of Hungary".

While her husband was pursuing his passion for war, throughout all the 25 years they were married, Elizabeth was often left to herself, and her life became more and more boring.

  • To kill some time, beside admiring her own beauty in the mirror for hours, she took on young men as lovers, and onetime she even ran of with one, but she soon returned home and the Count forgave her. Another thing Elizabeth did to amuse herself while home alone, was to pay visits to her aunt Countess Klara Bathory, an open bisexual. She presumably enjoyed herself with her aunt Klara, since she visited her aunt's estate frequently.

  • It was also then she began to develop an interest in the occult. An old maid named Dorothea Szentes, also called Dorka, who was a real witch, instructed her in the ways of witchcraft and Black Magic. Later Dorka became Bathory's helping hand, when she was encouraging Elizabeth's sadistic tendencies, like the inflicting of pain upon people. Together with Dorka, Elizabeth began the task of disciplining the female servants, and torture them in an underground chamber.

  • In the Countess's service, as helpers in the macabre punishments of the servants, was her old nurse Iloona Joo, her manservant Johannes Ujvary and a maid named Anna Darvula, who alleged also was Elizabeth's lover.

With the aid of this crew, Elizabeth made Castle Csejthe to a place of pure evil. She would always find excuses to inflict punishment and torture, upon her young servant girls.

  • She preferred to having the victim stripped naked and then whip the girl on the front of her nude body rather than the back not only for the increased damage this would do, but so that she then could watch their faces contort in horror at their most grim and burning fate. Another favorite was when she would stick pins, in various sensitive places on the victims body, such as under fingernails.

  • In 1600 Ferencz died and Elizabeth's period of real terror began. First of, she sent her hated mother-in-law away. Secondly, she would have peace to enjoy a new kind of bath, that nobody was to known of. Short before her husband died something happened, that changed Elizabeth's life. She was now close to 40 and time, had taken it's toll on her appearance. Elizabeth tried to conceal the wrinkles through cosmetics.

  • But this could not cover the fact, that she was getting old and close to losing her beauty.

Then one day it happened. A young chambermaid accidentally pulled Elizabeth Bathory's hair while combing it. The infuriated Countess slapped the girl's head so hard, that blood spurted from her nose, which splashed upon her own hand. Where the blood had touched her skin, Elizabeth immediately though it took on the freshness of her young chambermaid's skin.

  • She then got hold of Johannes Ujvary and Dorka to undress the young girl, upon holding her arms over a big vat, then they cut her arteries. After the young girl was dead Elizabeth then stepped into the vat, and took a bath in her chambermaid's blood. She was now sure, she had found the secret of eternal youth through this vampirism. She had discovered that blood is life.

  • Over the next ten years, Elizabeth Bathory's evil trusted helpers provided her with beautiful young girls, from some neighboring villages, upon the cover of hiring them as servants to Castle Csejthe. Back in the castle, the young girls would be mutilated and killed, so the Countess could take her blood baths. Sometimes, she would even drink their blood, to gain some sort of inner beauty.

  • But soon Elizabeth began to realize that the blood of simple peasant girls, was having little effect on the quality of her skin. Better blood was now required. Elizabeth then started picking girls from some of the surrounding lower nobility. These noble girls were consumed in exactly the same beastly fashion as the peasant girls who preceded them.

However, with the disappearance of girls of noble birth, Elizabeth was now becoming very careless in her actions.

  • People who lived in the neighboring villages, had already begun to talk. And soon the rumor about the horror in Castle Csejthe reached the Hungarian Emperor. The Emperor then ordered Elizabeth's own cousin, the Count Cuyorgy Thurzo, who was governor of the province to raid the castle.

On December 30, 1610. A band of soldiers led by Elizabeth's own cousin, raided Castle Csejthe at night. They were horrified by the terrible sights in the castle.

  • A dead girl was lying in the main hall, drained of blood, another girl, who had her body pierced, was still alive. In the dungeon they later discovered, were several girls waiting in prison cells, some of whose bodies had been tortured. Below the castle, they found the bodies of some 50 dead girls.

During the trial 1611, a register with the names of around 650 victims, was found in the Countess's living quarters. But the trial was largely just for show and to make the occasion "official".

  • A complete transcript of the trial was made at the time, and it still remains today in Hungary. All of Elizabeth's four accomplices were sentenced to death. Only Elizabeth was not brought before a court and tried. She remained confined in her castle while her four sadistic accomplices were tried for their crimes.

But she got her punishment, when the Hungarian Emperor demanded her condemn to lifelong imprisonment in her own castle.

  • Stonemasons were brought to her Castle Csejthe, to wall up the windows and the door to the bedchamber with the Countess still inside. Here she would spend the remaining days of her life, with only a small opening for food to be passed to her.

In 1614, four years after she was walled in, one of the Countess's jailers found her food untouched. After peeking through the small opening in Elizabeth's walled-up cell, he saw her lying face down on the floor.

  • Elizabeth Bathory the "Blood Countess" was dead at the age of fifty-four.

please read from the bottom up you may have to go back a page or 2... this is her full biography.

  • wow..that is pretty sick...

  • I don't think human race is that retarded. I hope they're not, after all I'm kinda part of it

  • haha

  • i cant read that stuff!!!!

  • WTF no english???not everybody speaks german man!!!!

  • In 1945, fearing persecution and execution by the communists, the family fled Hungary. The remaining heir recently returned to claim back much of the lands taken in 1945 - though these were not on the scale they had been in Erzsebts time.

So, despite what she may have done, her lands were never seized (till 1945 anyway which was not for her crimes) and her descendants continue - albeit to a much lesser degree - to have some power and influence in Hungary almost 400 years after her death

  • hey, do you think that this whole bloodlust thing may be a conspiracy set up by Thurzo, and the Countess is actually innocent? At least that is what I'm getting from the movie sypnosis of BATHORY.

  • Indeed she was even permitted to dictate her will to two priests from her sealed room in the castle. Her property was divided amongst her children - primarily to her son who had the surname of Bathory-Nadasdy. At some point the Bathory part was dropped (17th Century Spin Doctoring?). Her descendants continued through the Nadasdy line to the present day.

  • Contrary to popular belief, her lands were not confiscated.

The King kept pressing for a trial so that after the guilty verdict (guaranteed!) the lands could be confiscated and he could seize them and ignore the huge debts he owed to her.

However, this never happened and she was simply subject to a particularly severe 'house arrest'. Her birth into such a powerful noble family meant she was NEVER going to have to face a real trial.

  • Murderer? Yes

Extraordinarily intelligent woman? Yes, more than most other women, or men, of her time. Fluent in at least 4 languages. At this time in eastern Europe even Kings were illiterate!

    Sadistic? - Brutally so.

Loving mother? Yes, by all accounts she was a perfect mother to her children.

    Ungodly? Depends on your god.

Beautiful? By all contemporary accounts one of the most beautiful women to exist at the time. Even today Hungarian women are stunning so this is quite likely.

  • Did she commit horrendous acts? Without a doubt. However, nobility across Europe at this time treated peasants in whatever way they wanted - often barbarically. In this, her brutality was not unique. She was only stopped when the supply of peasants stopped and she started killing women from some of the 'low-end' nobility. Would the King and Prime Minister (both her relatives) have cared otherwise? The King must have rubbed his hands in glee though... he owed her a vast sum of money!

  • There is rumored to be documents secreted in the nations archives from the time in question - including the Countess's own diaries. However, access is limited to the most scholarly of scholars and even then, quite useless unless you have an understanding of 16/17th Century Hungarian (I know, its in Slovakia, but it was then part of the Hungarian Empire). It may make interesting reading if ever published and would help to put some of the myths to bed and provide a contemporary record.

  • There is - apart from records from the 'trial' no contemporary evidence of the crimes with which she was charged, or indeed any record of her undertaking any crimes during her life. She never admitted to the crimes but many, many other wealthy noblemen and estranged family members benefited enormously from her 'conviction' - carving up her land amongst them. Her nephew, the Prince of Transylvania was murdered by his own bodyguard on the orders of Thurzo, bringing the Bathory dynasty to an end.

  • Read accounts of her life and then visit the crumbling remains of Cachtice Castle where she lived and where, after her trial, she was bricked up within a few small rooms and died four year later - and the hairs on the back of ones neck tingle and rise as your mind imagines all that happened on the very ground, rocks and stones that you stand upon.

The tower in photographs of the ruins is where she was held. Eerily, even in bright sunshine, there is a darkness about it.

  • Oh, and the legend of her bathing in the blood of virgins???... it has travelled through the centuries and several hundred years later across Europe people still refer to her firstly in that context. There is no proof she ever did this.

It was a rumour created by her enemies/estranged family to bring about her downfall and to further their own desires and one which, arguably unfairly, became a story, that became fact, that became legend and was to be how she would be remembered for centuries.

  • t is a fascinating story and, though she appears to have committed horrendous acts, there was a lot of manipulation by others and much of what was presented at her 'trial' - there never was a trial in the sense we would understand - was hearsay and malicious rumour created by her enemies. It was a classic example of the black arts of politics and wealth/power.

Contemporary accounts suggest that she was indeed very, very beautiful... and in a way that was to lead to her downfall.

  • There is a great deal of 'fighting' over the 'facts' of this tale on all the videos posted. I am going to post some of the facts - as far as it is possible to know them - as there were very few records kept in the 1600's. I am sure that these will put the proverbial cat amongst the pigeons, but it seems that there is a need for some balance here. I have studied and researched the history behind the story quite considerably so I hope some will find it useful or enlightening.
