@alaric63 Haha... I just happen to be online right now. I have tons of chickens pics and videos on my blog - bexlifeDOTcom - just click on the "chickens" category. thanks for watching!
Thoughts upon watching this: (1) Your dad is HELPING you build the chicken coop? Looks like he's doing it, LOL. (2) Tell your dad the kneepads make him look more professional. (3) 70 years old is not old.
If this country had more dads like your dad.....We would be great Americans again....No need for government handouts....and pass basic skills to younger generations.
Wow, that's a bit harsh, eh. I mean, chickens are pretty benign! We are not allowed roosters in town (city limits), and I can understand the reason for that, but why you aren't allowed hens is hard to understand. Mind you, we don't have predators here. Does having chickens attract dangerous predators there? Is that the reason for the law? So curious, now...lol.
hello, me and my mom were trying to build a coop, and love yours... i was woundering if there was a part two to this video to see hhow he finished it.... its just beautiful... thank you
@oreoozz There's no part 2, but if you go to my channel youtube[dot]com/genghisgirl and look at my playlists, I have a bunch of chicken videos featuring the coop. I also have a smaller "bunk bed" style coop for a newer flock of bantam chicks. Thanks for watching!!
@getsmartnow2011 It's an approximate cube - 4 x 4 x 4 - and the roof slopes toward the back. There's three nesting boxes inside with a shelf for roosting. You can find more pics on my blog in the chickens section. bexlife[dot]com
@GospelTruth37059 I love my dad! Just today he came by to help my husband hang my new screen door. It takes him longer than it used to, but he's still the best carpenter around!
@wanditawandita37 That's just the thumbnail of the finished coop. You can find my blog at bexlife[dot]com and click on the chicken on the left side to see videos and photographs of the whole set-up.
@genghisgirl too funny ! you ever thought of getting quails? they are smaller and a little easier to raise and the eggs are so small, almost the size of popcorn!
If you live in the area of Portland, OR or Seattle WA, why not just order one from us? at: the chicken tractor company dot com We deliver! Check us out! We are all about green living and love to promote it by having the tractors available for those who do not have the time to build them.
4 stars for knee pads.. Would have got the extra star if you could have got him to wear hearing protection while using that electric saw. :P Although I know how hard that would have been, it took my dad the loss of an eye to starting wearing eye protection.
@trozza I had to yell at him to wear the knee pads, which he couldn't hear, because he's never worn ear protection in the 50 years he was a roofer :) I deal with the same thing with my husband, a music photographer. He's nearly deaf at 34 from never wearing ear plugs at a concert a day in his career. Men!
And he's in awfully good shape for 70...WOW... He could rival a large percentage of 30 yr olds!! Maybe I'll get up from in front of this computer now so I have the chance to look that good @ 70... LOL!!!
@kastnmagic My dad is super sweet... he helps me a lot and is a great grandpop, too. And yes, he IS in great shape... all on a diet of SPAM and iced tea ;)
@waylin46320 If you were a carpenter, you wouldn't need no stinkin' instruction pamphlet. Maybe you should swing a hammer for a while before you critique.
It's obvious all he needed was a length... the saw will cut it square... square as you need for a silly chicken coop.
Actually, my father is a carpenter who has owned his own successful business for over 40 years. The coop is finished and quite lovely. Thank you for watching. I also saw in other comments that you are curious about my nationality/background. I'm Irish and Indian, and I practice Buddhism. I'm not Jewish, but it is a lovely religion. Thank you for your compliment about my nose. I like it, too.
Wow! yer fast!
lol.. yes, I am featuring some coops.. er, I mean 'hutches'... on my private art blog.
It's rather artful, and besides, community chicken coops are the thing now, out of self defence...
anywhoo...
