  • I've become annoyed with irrational beliefs. I was raised believing in Santa, & Jesus. It has taken a long time to let go. My lowest point was depending on a deity for answers.

I see too many people investing in fakes: Religion, UFO,Conspiracies...etc.

Why do so many cling to fiction? Perhaps upbringing, for family, & social comfort. I see too many people that fear thinking too much as if it would lead to wisdom they know they don't want....Good video explanation, BTW.

  • Nils! It's Jeremy from MySpace. Damn well said, as always. I was surfing YouTube for some good religious debates and whatnot, and ran into you. I've had a dial-up connection the entire time I've been on MySpace. Now that I have DSL, I'll be able to view your video blogs both there and here much easier than I could before.

Take care, and keep bashing the opposition with your impressive logic. :)

  • Hi Jeremy, good to see you here, my friend!

I'm currently in Germany so it may take a while for the next video, but I'll be sure to make everyone proud.

    Don't keep the faith!

    ~Nils

  • Odin is a dumb unsophisticated god......He doesnt even have a host of Angels.

  • He had better than angels: The Valkyries, buxom blonde battle-maidens in armour who would personally greet the fallen and lead them to Valhalla. How's that for door-to-door service!

In fact, in Icelandic literature, Odin was described as a very wise god. You may be confusing him with Thor, a far more impetuous, childish and angry deity who's probably a lot more akin to YHWH in the Old Testament. They have very similar "hissy fits".

  • nnocturne. firstly i was trying to be funny. secondly thankyou for answering me. And a christian might say that the Norse people had found the christian God in their God Odin. In fact i expect all cultures who have had many Gods have one who is Knowledgable and wise like Odin, so a Christian could say all cultures have in-part known a flavour of the true god.

  • Apologies. My response was humourless and was not meant as a "come back", merely an overindulgence in one of my fields of interest. :-)

And, yes, you are of course right. Christians are amongst the first to try to reacquire the attributes of Norse (and other) pantheons. This is the case not only in temple location, day names and personality facets, but also in the actual myths associated with Christian mythology. Fascinating stuff. :-)

  • you are great and deserve alot more subscribers

  • Nnocturne, this was a fantastic response. I do think when people have an emotional void or lack of purpose, they naturally assume this has something to do with needing a god. What I find when talking to Christians is they will present subjective information as evidence. Such as I feel Gods love. This is tough to argue against.

    Peace to you Brother.

  • Astnbrns, could you send mesomeof your proof too as i am always interested in things that can educate me.

  • me too
