I still loving you Mary......to meet you here, In your unique visit... was one of best things of all my life!nora(Official Argentine Beatles Fan Club -sixties)Argentina
To continue what I meant to say is that I could listened all day, every day to both of them. What a awesome experience to be with this woman on a daily basis to hear her voice. It would be the greatest gift in the world.
Yes her voice is truly exceptional. I can't imagine anyone not being stopped in their tracks and waiting breathlessly for the next note. The voice of an Angel. Pure, honest, exceptionally haunting and spellbinding. I don't want to make comparisons here because they are so different and yet unique but Lara Fabian is the only other singer that has exception power of expression and tenderness in her voice. I could listen all day, every day
When I was a teenager, I had all her records. Not one singer at the time had a voice as beautiful as hers. There's many female singers that I enjoy listening to today, but in my book Mary's still the best!!!
She was a beautiful child and just kept getting more beautiful and she still hasn't stopped!!!!! Thank you for posting this fantabulous video!!! I sure wish I could speak Welsh, because it sounds like a beautiful fluid language, almost like Castillian Spanish!! I wonder if all the Gaelic languages are related to it!!! Welsh, Cornish, Scottish, Irish, Manx, etc!!!!! Have a nice day my friend!!!!
I have rediscovered Mary and her music having missed the full range of her talent the first time around as although we are the same age I was into "cooler" stuff then.
She was (is) a seriously good singer and what an angelic face as well.
I hope she will make some appearances on TV but I respect her need for privacy
I've always liked Mary's singing, so thanks for this. 'The Early Recordings' is great too. Nice to hear the language of heaven on You Tube too! Dai iawn, diolch!
Probably not alibarthez but as a Mary Hopkin fan you learn to be an 'optimist' so I never say never... If someone had said 6 years ago to me that "I would now have 4 new Mary Hopkin albums in my collection" I would have laughed!
Wow. Only song I really know from Mary is 'Those Were The Days' which is fantastic. But I never knew just how beautiful a voice the woman really has. THX alot for posting!
2005 she released, "Live at the Royal Festival Hall" December 2006 a Xmas song called "Snowed Under" as a download May 2007 she released an album called Valentine With 12previously unheard tracks dating from 1972 to 1980 three of which were written by Mary
November 2008 recollections was released in includes 2 written by Mary Also a CD EP of Christmas songs a re-mastered Mary Had A Baby and Cherry tree Carol from 1972 and Snowed under a new song from 2006
For those of you that may be confused, I give you an explanation: GIBBERISH
gib·ber·ish (noun)
(noun)
1. Unintelligible or nonsensical talk or writing.
2. Unnecessarily pretentious or vague language.
[Probably from gibber, to speak unintelligibly (of imitative origin) + -ish.]

The language of middle earth?
jsilence418 1 year ago
@jsilence418 Well.. it's Welsh. Tolkien being a scholar of early European languages nicked sounds (and words?) from Welsh for his Elvish.

Hello,
At about 2:09 Mary sings a bit of a song. Can you tell what song it is?, or can you make out the lyrics?
Thanks,
