  • Although I am a big Gibson fan, Martin takes the cake.

  • D18 sounds like it'd be better for bluegrass lead or folky finger picking (john prine). J45 sounds like what i'd want for strumming or blues picking (lightnin hopkins). imho

  • gibson J45 sounds louder and we can hear each note seperatly

  • To my ears the Martin sounds way better. I guess it's all personal preference though.

  • gibsooooooon.. ^^

  • Both are great guitars bottom line.

  • Love the Martin, gibsons a bit watery o my ears

  • Longer scale = Warmer (more bass, more harmonic, more sustain). Shorter scale = Brighter (more treble, more spark, less harmonic, less sustain)

  • @SirZozzo n00b question of the day: Is the "scale" the distance between the frets?

  • @xchump scale length is the distance from Nut to Bridge

  • @SirZozzo Does that mean 12 fret guitars are more trebly?

  • @xchump scale length not number of frets

  • @SirZozzo ok thanks

  • Gibson J45

  • prefer the gibson
