oh, and ya, karate master shut the fuck up first of all you all gotta get more people interested i ur type of fighting. . .i've tried a lot of karate styles and they're all fucking boring. . .and it docent stick to your mind like chines martial-arts does. make it interesting bro! and ufc you should shut up the most. you always bragging how good you wannabe fighters all when all you care about is strength and appearance. when you lack control, discipline, and the lack of focusing.
ha oh ya:) ip man! i fucking love that movie. I've seen part one and two. but i wanna see part three. and what is it with mixing the name yip man and ip man. get it right bro its ip man!
look first people if you have nothing good to say about this style just keep in notice that because of wing chun, the hate between americans and chines stoped. you should be grateful that this man is even showing you these tactics. the difference between wing chin and ufc is that wing chun has more control and respect for other sports. and don't beat to the point to when they're dead. no wing chn is just a simple way to take you down without killing or seriously injuring your opponent.
people arguing about which is better, mma or wing chun are fucking stupid, theres a clear difference between mma where u go to fight and wing chun which is more for ur own defence, theres alot more into martial arts then oh ima fight this guy, it shouldnt be used for that
thanks for a great video hgamer, and double thanks for not posting long annoying posts or videos concerning the whole mma/WC debates. im happy to just see people focusing on great techniques and sparring and sharing knowledge and less whiny arguing. thank you
@LeungTingWT Wing Tsun is Wing Chun.. you know that right? It's all the same. Isn't all originated from one style by a woman called Wing Chun? After she was taught it by her master who observed a crane and a snake fight? since then its been passed down a few generations to Ip man and that is the style taught around the world??
@hgamer you talk about real fighting, when ed had his hand right in position to hit your crotch while you were doing tan da... so you're not protecting the top portion nor the bottom portion of your body.
@MrChumFm youre too used to a boxing situation where nobody watches below the stomach (except for footwork and moving). you want to lift your hands up to your head, what are you gonna do about your lower body?
wing chun doesnt need hands all the way up at the head, because they dont rely on being there to stay safe. someone like a boxer needs his hands close to his head and body because his only block is to immediately turtle up. wing chun moves hands as necessary to where they should
@StopFlaggingVideos Problem is, is that he's not adjusting at all. He charges straight through without considering where he's putting his hands to control the opponent or where the opponent is striking. However, I do agree with the boxing, but not entirely, because in Muay Thai and Kyoukushin Karate, they both keep hands at the head level, and they are both very effective martial arts styles/systems.
@MrChumFm the triangle means you keep and follow your opponents movement, but you don't need to do that in real street fight. he doesnt need to know that you know some kind of fight art untill he launches his attacks.
@shoesfx then keep your hands up, and facing your opponent. If they move sideways, you'll know because they'll be moving to the side, and if they decide to move forwards, you also know due to the shoulders.
one more comment, people who dismiss WC as not being effective or powerful have either none, or very little understanding/mastery of the art. their comments are usually ignorant and plain stupid.
One thing I have learned (and I have a long way to go) is that to be really effective at WC, you need to be able to relax and hold the correct body stance/structure. It takes a long time just learning how to relax the body and get the energy moving up the spine. Then the movements become almost effortless and very powerful. There is a huge difference between a practitioner who is relaxed an grounded and one that is not.
I have about 2.5 years WC training and I can honestly say it's a very effective system, despite the fact I've only been in one actual fight. I was also recently confronted by someone in the street over an incident, but as soon as I adopted my stance and guard and moved towards him, the guy backed down - he noticed I was relaxed and confident, as opposed to looking scared and backing off.
@aestheticcoder It dose not matter what martial art you or anyone else train in all the UFC fighter will beat you with ease not because of thier style it`s because they are Pro fighters not keyboard warriors.
@sifurey and since title UFC fighters are the only threat you will ever encounter on the street, there is no point to learning ANY way to defend yourself. Urdumb
I was saying that your logic is terribly flawed good sir. You were saying that martial arts are irrelevant because UFC sport fighters are better. I was sarcastically remarking, but i'll speak candidly now; due to the fact that UFC fighters are so sparse in the entire population of a single state alone, it is stupid to say that self-defense training is moot, considering that the odds of actually running into a UFC fighter are astronomical.
@bkzunltd000 If you meant to be funny then work on being funny.Let me make this clear you must compete and compare at your own level.Outside the safety of your gym make sure you train to fight.Most schools will not be able to train you to fight.To do that you must train at a school that focuses on fighting.good luck
i don't understand what you're saying you're pretty much contrasting your initial post now, by saying that it IS ok to train, whereas the initial post was saying that it is pointless to train because of UFC fighters. Also, asking if i was being funny to slander my clearly objective comments is an extremely crude way to try to insult me. Son, i am disappoint.
@bkzunltd000 Let`s make this clear.UFC fighter even the lowest ranked fighter will beat you or anyone else including my self.To say to train is piontless is not the case .To train other than to fight is pointless other wise it`s akin to any other hobby you might have like baseball,basketball,dance or what ever you desire.Insult are crude live with it.disappoint met is part of life
Sir, it is extremely alarming that your unhealthy narcissism is so flagrant it can be detected through text. Who gives a fuck if someone trains martial arts and they don't fight? THe fuck does that have to do with you? But i concede with my initial point: training for martial arts IS practical, because the chances that you will run into an UFC fighter on the street and engage in combat with him are extremely slim.
@sifurey so in other words baseball,basketball, dance, and all other human desires are pointless...wow thats deep. so is life pointless as well? should we all just end it all? its pointless anyways right?
yo first off of MMA is a sport its a something you use on the street it has how can you even compare something meant for sport against something developed from warfare. some people have this arongant notice that MMA is the ultimate form of martial art but the streets have no rules what BJ penn going to do in the street when in most fights they are not fair by weight or number of opponent you can't put five people in a arm bar Brah!!!!! trust me these streets aint nice and they were worst then!!!
@karateboyreno - Bros, MMA fighters, train to fight. What you see on TV is only a tiny fraction of what is actually learned in class. Rules or no rules the art of fighting remains the same. MMA is born out of traditional martial-arts and MMA bridges the gap between them. Plus you talk about rules, if you Spar, then you train with rules. When is the last time you killed someone in class?
Your example of BJ Penn is arrogant. He would smash any one of your SIFU's.
@karateboyreno - The problem with you Wing Chun practitioners is you see fighting through the old eyes of tradition. Whereas I would advise using more modern ways of training. Nobody is suggesting that Wing Chun can't be part of MMA training. But you will quickly find the traditional method does not apply to the new generation of fighters.
Here is a little clip for you haters and McDojo Practitioners:
5 MMA instructor and staff instructors challenged a tiny WC school once, and no MMA was witnessed and all MMA went down to the ground while all WC students standing. That doesn't mean MMA can't fight, it only means those MMA instructors didn't have proper training to know not to challenge a school that is not for sport, but for preserving an aggressive art of self defense. Why waste once time to put down WC, and other arts? With out them there will be no Chop Suey MMA. Have a nice day.
@hgamer I say that in wing chun you have 3 options, attack before being attacked, wait, or induce the movement (throwing a punch not meant to hit, meant to make the other move) and I say they can be used together or at certain moments in our life like attack(youth) Induce movement(adult) Waiting(Elderly
can u please anser me. i am a 12 yr old and i have a fear of fighting so i freeze up please tell me how to overcome beacause i got jumped today by two big kids and i seek revenge
@Sk8boybom3r12 seeriously dude just go and join a real boxing gym wing chung kung fu tai chi all those stupid things dont work. this is comeing from a prefesiona MMA fighter
@superkawasaki750 Why is it that alot of the MMA fighters dont have respect for Chinese martial arts or any martials arts that is not associated with a MMA gym? I dont understand. I've been a Wing Chun practitioner for 2 years now and if you've never fought a person of my art then how can you say it's stupid? Don't get me wrong, I have respect for all martial arts including BBJ and Muay Thai in your case. No one style is better than an other. It's the practitioner that makes it what it is.
Professional?? Doesn't that mean that you fight for money not because you're being bullied by the opponent or for your life? The difficulty nowadays is that the martial arts were NOT designed to go 10+ rounds. In truth, they were not designed to fight more than the first. This is because the martial arts are martial. Martial as in WAR. I've never seen a war where one person is giving the opponent (who usually trying to kill him/her a massage. Have you?
Furthermore, when I write of not more than one round, I mean that you do not make it to another round because you are either incapacitated OR decapitated (as in DEAD). Now if you still want to take a crap on the martial arts, where do you think your MMA acquired its techniques? If your first answer was the Carebears then I suppose you're consistent with your reply to Sk8boybom3r12
Greetings Sk8boybom3r12. I will state that I believe it is good that you have a fear of fighting. Fear is useful because it preps the mind for an encounter. Fear will also help ensure you do not turn into a bloodthirsty fighter. To help you overcome fear however, is difficult because even the greatest fighters in the world are afraid of something. To fear is human. God is the only person who fears nothing. I also discourage you from joining ANY martial arts training.
In addition, I must point out that the MARTIAL arts teach you HOW to wound, maim, and especially KILL (i.e. MURDER) your opponent. They do NOT teach you TO DO it but merely HOW TO do it. With a competent teacher though you will learn to also avoid physical encounters. Unless you become a soldier then murder is your No. 1 purpose for existence. Soldiers are trained TO KILL. They learn many things, true, but murder of any attacking enemy is at the core of their training.
Moreover, I hope you will understand that being a martial ARTIST is different from being a martial COMBATANT. It is our drive to preserve a life that sets us apart from the combatants. All life is sacred to a martial artist. A martial artist does not need to prove his/her martial prowess. It is integrated into their being. A martial combatant, sadly, constantly has to prove him/herself to themselves usually because of low self-esteem and morals.
Finally, I wish to stress that a martial artist is an ARTIST. If you become a martial artist your greatest grand masterpiece will be yourself. Combat requires 2 people, art just needs you. If you needed 2 people to do your painting, it is not really yours but both of you. Please choose wisely because your choices will define you and it is both wicked and selfish to give any martial art a bad reputation. Ask your parents/caregivers to help you. I wish you all the best. Good luck.
@hgamer thanks dude ^_^ i got to the point where i don't go to a docter i just pop it into place rap it and don't use it for a few weeks :( but i will try that cause down time sucks big time thanks again >_<
@Metal8Lover i believe my episode 6 will talk about wall bag training, but what you don't want to do is keep damaging it... your probably a young dude, so its not that big a deal right now, but later on you'll screw up your hand if you continue to do that.....
@hgamer k number 6 i'll have a look see :) yeah my grandpa was a boxer and his hands got busted up all the time when he was young but damn did his hands look like shit when he was old :( and i'm a chick ^_^ but thats for the advise sersously >_<
No man is a perfect fighter.W.t. speaks for the best posibilities.Anyway why you need a K.O. punch?Few people can do it in real situations.But believe me a good punch is very dangerous even is not for k.o.
@theawakener7 your example, i'm not really sure what your saying...... but i don't teach sparring, tournament fighting, or kinda like the videos i saw on your site..... i teach people how to end the fight right away and win..... Peace.
ok... i don´t agree completely with gorfjorf2112112... but i have to say that he is right when he said that no style is complete... And he is right when he said Wing Chun punches are no Knock Out punches... BUT i did WT for some years and i can say there IS power... i don´t think that you can say this style or this style is unrealistic or it´s bullshit or something like that. everybody has to find it out for hiimself. it´s individual...
Yeah...he used wing chun style punching just for stunning. But for knock out he used boxing style punches. After all he used whatever was most effective. He wouldn't study wing chun to learn take downs...he studied judo for that. He wouldn't study wing chun for knock out power...it was more like boxing. Wing chun DID have it's part....and that was trapping. Wing chun DOES NOT HAVE IT ALL. NO STYLE IS COMPLETE.
@gorfjorf2112112 Wing Chun Kuen is a complete fighting system. It is not a style. It is a relatively new collection of concepts and fighting strategies grouped to produce a systematic way of ending the conflict as quickly and efficiently as possible. In any case it's not about the system or the style. It's about the practitioner. You can find everything you need in the wing chun system from close to long range, stand up or ground fighting and weapons.
@strokesdogs A main principle is to stack on the enemy.That means you follow the move of the boxer and stack on him.That is easy to tell and hard to do.Thats why in w.t. must be really accurate.Hold the center line,have the weight back,be relaxed,etc..so you can follow his movement.The truth is that is not easy.A boxer plays with 2-3 natural moves.A wt fighter train to alter his human reaction,relax and then adjust.That may mean 2-3 years good train of a boxer is equall with double train for wt.
@strokesdogs In some system there is the concept of short range or inch power. We have it in wing chun and taijiquan. Bruce Lee referred to it during his famous demo of his one inch punch. We use this idea to strike from wherever the hand is positioned. This means we don't need to retract the fist in order launch a second strike. If I threw a right cross and the boxer slipped to his left I would immediately use inch power and launch a side ways chop to the neck without retracting the hand.
mma is a very general term but most people now just think mma as kick boxing with some jiu jitsu, kung fu and traditional karate revolves around the concept of doing whatever it takes to bring down your enemy, doesnt matter if its strikes to the groin, eyes - whatever it takes, unlike UFC most ufc fighters, who are not trained to strike the vital points of the human body
And I don't know why everyone's hating, regardless of what the video is about, alot of effort has been put into it so other people can benifit from it, if you don't lke the art or the video, then simply don't watch it, as you can clearly see there are more likes than dislikes, meaning the majority of people find this video good so no one cares about your hating opinions. Furthermore, don't hate on something you don't know anything about because all of you sound like idiots. IGNORANT RETARDS!
Wing Chun has not stood up in any real fight or sports fight either. I'LL TELL YOU WHY. 2 reasons: Wing Chunners practice 2, 3 or 4 moves for each move the opponent makes. UNREALISTIC. The next reason is that win chun punches have no power. I don't care how much you say it has power...just compare your straight wing chun punch to ANY boxers hook or cross. You'll be fucked. Wing chun has only one or two good moves to contribute to world Martial arts.
@gorfjorf2112112 actually i enjoy the ones who like to post their knowledge but are too big a pussy of showing what they can do..... those are the best
@gorfjorf2112112 well just read to your comment. its already explain how much you know anything in wingchun or martial. my advice try to learn more harder about anything that you say before and then comment later.
lol another MMA fanboy. here is the thing there is not way in hell you could be right because your knowledge of wing chun is as poor as your ability to pick a good username. as for your "anything other than MMA doesn't work" reasons for why WC can't be a sport.
1. its a fighting system developed for street fights, not sports. and about the 3 or 4 moves, you either can't count or don't know WC (I'd say both)
2. go to any WC school for a free lesson and try their punch yourself.
@gorfjorf2112112 ok but the wing chun doesnt just punch you shallow cunt, in fact, punching is like 5% of wing chun, there are takedowns, knees, elbows, strikes the the eyes, grappling and a lot more. Plus, the wing chun straight punch revolves around the concept of rapid, as in the instant you land one hit, you dont give your opponent to retaliate and you continue to pound their asses.
@gorfjorf2112112 yea the wing chun straight power doesnt compare to a jab in terms of power but the jab is thrown with the elbow being horizontal, whereas the straight punch is vertical, and when the opponent throws a jab and you throw a straight punch, the extending of the forearm will push the jab downwards.
@gorfjorf2112112 You say win chun punches have no power ?!?! Let's me tell you something, Bruce Lee is Wing Chunner !!! And you think his punches have no power ??
if ur saying boxing is realistic, then truly u know nothing,boxing needs u to move around, in a real street fight, u might have no place to move or even jump, and talking about punches, punches from sides is a long distance punches..or in another words it needs more time, while in wingchun punching is straight and fast or in another words we punch through the shortest distance and this is science and whether ur punch fucks a person or not, that depend on the person who punch.
@gorfjorf2112112 how do you know that wing chun has not stood up in any real fight - have you done a survey or something? the fact wing chun isn't a sport is an indicator that it is likely to do better as self defense. no capital letters please you simple moron. wing chun is all about simplicity hence why they can do their moves whilst BLINDFOLDED. watch 'wing chun basics part 1' an old video and do the correct wing chun punch and you will appreciate the efficiency of the wing chun punch.
I think you guys should all stop disagreeing and just watch the video they are putting effort trying to teach you something, respect it and keep your thoughts to yourself, thank you.
Why is it important for a diptarded, LARPing same sex couple like you two to have a "fighting strategy" when you have never fought a day in your lives and never intend to?
Decent video, agree with what's send for the most part. Only thing I disagree with is 2 different mentalities between sparring and fighting. The response should be the same with both. Otherwise, you are training bad habits when sparring.
@jpsandberg from my experience you fight like how you train, if you train to spar that's what will come out... a perfect example is kimbo slice, watch his early videos on youtube compared to now, its like night and day
@hgamer Not sure I understand what you mean about kimbo (?) And, if you spar just like you'll fight, I don't see why you would want to do one differently than the other. One should be training exactly like one would fight, and sparring exactly as if you are fighting. Otherwise, what's the point? I don't see any other way to do it..
@hgamer let me ask you for clarification: are you saying you only train and fight (with no sparring)? Do you spar as well? And if so, why would spar differently than how you'd train or fight?
@jpsandberg Wing chun is a street fighting system, it aims for vital areas and pressure points, you can't have that in a class with a variation in abilities. You pretty much still use the same techniques when you spar but in a street fight you just want to quickly end the fight so there's no holding back, the video pretty much explains everything. yeah and bear in mind that it's not a style, it is a CONCEPT BASED STREET FIGHTING SYSTEM.
@hgamer Kimbo slice sucked then and he sucks now. Meanwhile, what the fuck would you know about fighting and how to train for it considering you've never fought a day in your life you fat fuck.
@hgamer Disagree with you here on Kimbo. Kimbo in his early videos on the internet was purely doing bare knuckles boxing. So the attacks were limited to punches.
When Kimbo moved to MMA he had much more to worry about kicks, elbows, throws, submissions, etc... It was a new world for him that he had to adapt to which was difficult for him.
I understand that sparring isn't fighting. But I do think sparring has it's place in training. But to each his own.
@hgamer What are the real chances of a slim guy say..145lbs...5`9 with half your skill taking on an average dirty street fighter/wrestler at say..6`2..225...actually being able to execute his(or her) W.C., is size a true factor?For most ppl it just doesnt work they always have to go out of there structure.I know you may just have to do enough to get outta there and you cant judge a persons spirit but really?How do you explain this?thanxs
@MrLexTalionis1 that's the only reason to take wing chun, its the only art done right where size doesn't matter.. there's a reason why ufc has weight limits
@hgamer I agree I wouldnt say its the only art that has that factor but it may be the best. The only thing close to Wing chun is certain types of silat and escrima like the (presas brothers) chin-na as well but thats been incorporated into some stylesof WC also.I guess its not WC its how well the student trains and executes it.Ive had ppl say man put on some weight, man lose some weight..f#%k it im good how I am.
I subscribed but I don't think this is your method.
I learned the traditional wing chun , which involves just going in and do the chain punches with no regret. I hope this isn't considered a bad comment to you...
I like your aproach to Wing Chun. Have reead some coments below. It is sad, that kinde of people give a bad name to martilal arts. Keep up the good work.
@satori111 don't be taken so back by the comments, people are people... most of them are armchair, video game street fighter, 2 week tae bo course people, who think they have a pinch clue about wing chun... its all good... they need a place to vent and feel important so i always allow them to comment
fighting. Belive me, cotnrol a resisting opponent who wont let you, no matter how good you are, you will get smacked. I sorry but I will not be taken in with all this theory on wing chun, fighting is simple and dangerous, but not the wing chun way, its outdated, and will not stand up in reality, it floored, but I am sure there will be those wing chun LOVERS who will disagree.
Thank you hgamer. Pretty much like my Sifu showed me. Just wanted to see how you guy's deal with it. I like the way you explain Wing Chun. I'm a ex-boxer i still have friends that box so I'm always trying to use my Wing Chun on them. And like you explained sparring is different from fighting so when fighting there's no in and out or playing tag,it's just finish him off.
@comradesbl Idk lol. I really I'm liking wing chun. Being that i use to box it's a bit easier for me to see incoming punches and I have good timing. Only thing giving me problems is my stance , I'm to narrow instead of being more square. Oh and i need to get the wing chun blocking down pack as well as coming up with combo's without thinking about it. In boxing combos come easy to me and my foot work is second to none.
@comradesbl WC to me is quick way to end fights they chop to the throat poke your eyes kick you knee caps ect. Boxing i gotta work dudes sometime cause not everybody goes down off of one shot. And in the streets you don't have 12rds. Not saying boxing isn't good cause i do end fights quick but just need something new. Plus Boxing is a sport that you have to train in everyday. I'm not getting up in the morning and running 5 miles no more lol. WC an old man can do it and still be effective.
@comradesbl As A boxer gets older he starts to slow down stance gets wider. Doesn't move around as much looks to pick his shots and relies more on timing and less movement. And WC just does that. Al ot of people don't know how to make it work for them, like Bruce lee said knowing is not enough we must apply. You need to spar with it and spar against different people and styles. My Sufi makes it work for him.
@sild123 lol, i'm not even going fast sild... i'm just goofing off, and speed's not that important compared to timing, as for the fok sau, i'm assuming your talking how is it applied in 1st form motion... That'll take awhile to explain, but you have to see what its developing and not look at it as how you would apply it... I see so many people think you'd use that first form motion to deflect a punch, if you try it that way you will be killed...
@hgamer well yeah, i have seen some "interpretation" of how fook sau (fok sau/fuk sau wtever how they call it) should be applied, or, the concept behind it. as a person experienced in wing chun (you), i want to hear opinion from you. in wsl, if im not mistaken, it trains lat sau jic chung, in the shape of fook sau, pressing forward. so whenever you used a technique (movement or wtever) you may apply the energy of fook sau concept (i.e jum sau), at least thats how i see it. but still not clear.

MrChumFm 7 months ago
@MrChumFm the triangle means you keep and follow your opponents movement, but you don't need to do that in real street fight. he doesnt need to know that you know some kind of fight art untill he launches his attacks.

@shoesfx then keep your hands up, and facing your opponent. If they move sideways, you'll know because they'll be moving to the side, and if they decide to move forwards, you also know due to the shoulders.

one more comment, people who dismiss WC as not being effective or powerful have either none, or very little understanding/mastery of the art. their comments are usually ignorant and plain stupid.
upaste 8 months ago
One thing I have learned (and I have a long way to go) is that to be really effective at WC, you need to be able to relax and hold the correct body stance/structure. It takes a long time just learning how to relax the body and get the energy moving up the spine. Then the movements become almost effortless and very powerful. There is a huge difference between a practitioner who is relaxed an grounded and one that is not.
upaste 8 months ago
I have about 2.5 years WC training and I can honestly say it's a very effective system, despite the fact I've only been in one actual fight. I was also recently confronted by someone in the street over an incident, but as soon as I adopted my stance and guard and moved towards him, the guy backed down - he noticed I was relaxed and confident, as opposed to looking scared and backing off.

@sifurey
lol baby boy? Eh... i've heard better.
I was saying that your logic is terribly flawed good sir. You were saying that martial arts are irrelevant because UFC sport fighters are better. I was sarcastically remarking, but i'll speak candidly now; due to the fact that UFC fighters are so sparse in the entire population of a single state alone, it is stupid to say that self-defense training is moot, considering that the odds of actually running into a UFC fighter are astronomical.
bkzunltd000 7 months ago
@bkzunltd000 If you meant to be funny then work on being funny.Let me make this clear you must compete and compare at your own level.Outside the safety of your gym make sure you train to fight.Most schools will not be able to train you to fight.To do that you must train at a school that focuses on fighting.good luck
sifurey 7 months ago
@sifurey
i don't understand what you're saying you're pretty much contrasting your initial post now, by saying that it IS ok to train, whereas the initial post was saying that it is pointless to train because of UFC fighters. Also, asking if i was being funny to slander my clearly objective comments is an extremely crude way to try to insult me. Son, i am disappoint.
bkzunltd000 7 months ago
@bkzunltd000 Let`s make this clear.UFC fighter even the lowest ranked fighter will beat you or anyone else including my self.To say to train is piontless is not the case .To train other than to fight is pointless other wise it`s akin to any other hobby you might have like baseball,basketball,dance or what ever you desire.Insult are crude live with it.disappoint met is part of life

@sifurey
Sir, it is extremely alarming that your unhealthy narcissism is so flagrant it can be detected through text. Who gives a fuck if someone trains martial arts and they don't fight? THe fuck does that have to do with you? But i concede with my initial point: training for martial arts IS practical, because the chances that you will run into an UFC fighter on the street and engage in combat with him are extremely slim.
bkzunltd000 7 months ago
@sifurey so in other words baseball,basketball, dance, and all other human desires are pointless...wow thats deep. so is life pointless as well? should we all just end it all? its pointless anyways right?

yo first off of MMA is a sport its a something you use on the street it has how can you even compare something meant for sport against something developed from warfare. some people have this arongant notice that MMA is the ultimate form of martial art but the streets have no rules what BJ penn going to do in the street when in most fights they are not fair by weight or number of opponent you can't put five people in a arm bar Brah!!!!! trust me these streets aint nice and they were worst then!!!
karateboyreno 2 months ago
@karateboyreno - Bros, MMA fighters, train to fight. What you see on TV is only a tiny fraction of what is actually learned in class. Rules or no rules the art of fighting remains the same. MMA is born out of traditional martial-arts and MMA bridges the gap between them. Plus you talk about rules, if you Spar, then you train with rules. When is the last time you killed someone in class?
Your example of BJ Penn is arrogant. He would smash any one of your SIFU's.
iApna 1 month ago

I've been a Wing Chun practitioner for 2 years now and if you've never fought a person of my art then how can you say it's stupid? Don't get me wrong, I have respect for all martial arts including BBJ and Muay Thai in your case. No one style is better than an other. It's the practitioner that makes it what it is.

yulaw3 11 months ago
@superkawasaki750
Have you?
AintNoSuperiorStyle 10 months ago
@superkawasaki750

AintNoSuperiorStyle 10 months ago
@Sk8boybom3r12
AintNoSuperiorStyle 10 months ago
@Sk8boybom3r12
AintNoSuperiorStyle 10 months ago
@AintNoSuperiorStyle
Yuan Kay San was a martial combatant lol.
anythingnew 5 months ago
@Sk8boybom3r12
Good luck.

ok... i don´t agree completely with gorfjorf2112112... but i have to say that he is right when he said that no style is complete... And he is right when he said Wing Chun punches are no Knock Out punches... BUT i did WT for some years and i can say there IS power... i don´t think that you can say this style or this style is unrealistic or it´s bullshit or something like that. everybody has to find it out for hiimself. it´s individual...
xXHampamXx 1 year ago
Yeah...he used wing chun style punching just for stunning. But for knock out he used boxing style punches. After all he used whatever was most effective. He wouldn't study wing chun to learn take downs...he studied judo for that. He wouldn't study wing chun for knock out power...it was more like boxing. Wing chun DID have it's part....and that was trapping. Wing chun DOES NOT HAVE IT ALL. NO STYLE IS COMPLETE.
gorfjorf2112112 1 year ago
@gorfjorf2112112 Wing Chun Kuen is a complete fighting system. It is not a style. It is a relatively new collection of concepts and fighting strategies grouped to produce a systematic way of ending the conflict as quickly and efficiently as possible. In any case it's not about the system or the style. It's about the practitioner. You can find everything you need in the wing chun system from close to long range, stand up or ground fighting and weapons.

What if the boxer sidesteps the attack?
strokesdogs 1 year ago
@strokesdogs i'll answer that in a later video.... but that's minimal to deal with
hgamer 1 year ago
@strokesdogs A main principle is to stack on the enemy.That means you follow the move of the boxer and stack on him.That is easy to tell and hard to do.Thats why in w.t. must be really accurate.Hold the center line,have the weight back,be relaxed,etc..so you can follow his movement.The truth is that is not easy.A boxer plays with 2-3 natural moves.A wt fighter train to alter his human reaction,relax and then adjust.That may mean 2-3 years good train of a boxer is equall with double train for wt.
dlvt79 1 year ago
@strokesdogs I'll put a vid of my sifu sparring for you when we have a end of the month throwdown.
cookiestastegoodinmy 1 year ago
@strokesdogs In some system there is the concept of short range or inch power. We have it in wing chun and taijiquan. Bruce Lee referred to it during his famous demo of his one inch punch. We use this idea to strike from wherever the hand is positioned. This means we don't need to retract the fist in order launch a second strike. If I threw a right cross and the boxer slipped to his left I would immediately use inch power and launch a side ways chop to the neck without retracting the hand.
jasma98 10 months ago
mma is a very general term but most people now just think mma as kick boxing with some jiu jitsu, kung fu and traditional karate revolves around the concept of doing whatever it takes to bring down your enemy, doesnt matter if its strikes to the groin, eyes - whatever it takes, unlike UFC most ufc fighters, who are not trained to strike the vital points of the human body
dynastyflygon 1 year ago
And I don't know why everyone's hating, regardless of what the video is about, alot of effort has been put into it so other people can benifit from it, if you don't lke the art or the video, then simply don't watch it, as you can clearly see there are more likes than dislikes, meaning the majority of people find this video good so no one cares about your hating opinions. Furthermore, don't hate on something you don't know anything about because all of you sound like idiots. IGNORANT RETARDS!
mustafabee1 1 year ago
Wing Chun has not stood up in any real fight or sports fight either. I'LL TELL YOU WHY. 2 reasons: Wing Chunners practice 2, 3 or 4 moves for each move the opponent makes. UNREALISTIC. The next reason is that win chun punches have no power. I don't care how much you say it has power...just compare your straight wing chun punch to ANY boxers hook or cross. You'll be fucked. Wing chun has only one or two good moves to contribute to world Martial arts.

lol another MMA fanboy. here is the thing there is not way in hell you could be right because your knowledge of wing chun is as poor as your ability to pick a good username. as for your "anything other than MMA doesn't work" reasons for why WC can't be a sport.
1. its a fighting system developed for street fights, not sports. and about the 3 or 4 moves, you either can't count or don't know WC (I'd say both)
2. go to any WC school for a free lesson and try their punch yourself.
mustafabee1 1 year ago
@gorfjorf2112112 ok but the wing chun doesnt just punch you shallow cunt, in fact, punching is like 5% of wing chun, there are takedowns, knees, elbows, strikes the the eyes, grappling and a lot more. Plus, the wing chun straight punch revolves around the concept of rapid, as in the instant you land one hit, you dont give your opponent to retaliate and you continue to pound their asses.
dynastyflygon 1 year ago
@gorfjorf2112112 yea the wing chun straight power doesnt compare to a jab in terms of power but the jab is thrown with the elbow being horizontal, whereas the straight punch is vertical, and when the opponent throws a jab and you throw a straight punch, the extending of the forearm will push the jab downwards.

@gorfjorf2112112
if ur saying boxing is realistic, then truly u know nothing,boxing needs u to move around, in a real street fight, u might have no place to move or even jump, and talking about punches, punches from sides is a long distance punches..or in another words it needs more time, while in wingchun punching is straight and fast or in another words we punch through the shortest distance and this is science and whether ur punch fucks a person or not, that depend on the person who punch.
netwiz2 1 year ago
@gorfjorf2112112 how do you know that wing chun has not stood up in any real fight - have you done a survey or something? the fact wing chun isn't a sport is an indicator that it is likely to do better as self defense. no capital letters please you simple moron. wing chun is all about simplicity hence why they can do their moves whilst BLINDFOLDED. watch 'wing chun basics part 1' an old video and do the correct wing chun punch and you will appreciate the efficiency of the wing chun punch.

Decent video, agree with what's send for the most part. Only thing I disagree with is 2 different mentalities between sparring and fighting. The response should be the same with both. Otherwise, you are training bad habits when sparring.
jpsandberg 1 year ago
@jpsandberg from my experience you fight like how you train, if you train to spar that's what will come out... a perfect example is kimbo slice, watch his early videos on youtube compared to now, its like night and day
hgamer 1 year ago
@hgamer Not sure I understand what you mean about kimbo (?) And, if you spar just like you'll fight, I don't see why you would want to do one differently than the other. One should be training exactly like one would fight, and sparring exactly as if you are fighting. Otherwise, what's the point? I don't see any other way to do it..
jpsandberg 1 year ago
@hgamer let me ask you for clarification: are you saying you only train and fight (with no sparring)? Do you spar as well? And if so, why would spar differently than how you'd train or fight?
jpsandberg 1 year ago
@jpsandberg Wing chun is a street fighting system, it aims for vital areas and pressure points, you can't have that in a class with a variation in abilities. You pretty much still use the same techniques when you spar but in a street fight you just want to quickly end the fight so there's no holding back, the video pretty much explains everything. yeah and bear in mind that it's not a style, it is a CONCEPT BASED STREET FIGHTING SYSTEM.
mustafabee1 1 year ago
@hgamer Kimbo slice sucked then and he sucks now. Meanwhile, what the fuck would you know about fighting and how to train for it considering you've never fought a day in your life you fat fuck.
Blndrfist 1 year ago
@hgamer Disagree with you here on Kimbo. Kimbo in his early videos on the internet was purely doing bare knuckles boxing. So the attacks were limited to punches.
When Kimbo moved to MMA he had much more to worry about kicks, elbows, throws, submissions, etc... It was a new world for him that he had to adapt to which was difficult for him.
I understand that sparring isn't fighting. But I do think sparring has it's place in training. But to each his own.

comradesbl 1 year ago
@comradesbl Idk lol. I really I'm liking wing chun. Being that i use to box it's a bit easier for me to see incoming punches and I have good timing. Only thing giving me problems is my stance , I'm to narrow instead of being more square. Oh and i need to get the wing chun blocking down pack as well as coming up with combo's without thinking about it. In boxing combos come easy to me and my foot work is second to none.
kungfuspic 1 year ago
@comradesbl WC to me is quick way to end fights they chop to the throat poke your eyes kick you knee caps ect. Boxing i gotta work dudes sometime cause not everybody goes down off of one shot. And in the streets you don't have 12rds. Not saying boxing isn't good cause i do end fights quick but just need something new. Plus Boxing is a sport that you have to train in everyday. I'm not getting up in the morning and running 5 miles no more lol. WC an old man can do it and still be effective.
kungfuspic 1 year ago

@hgamer First, Ken is a charlatan so no attention paid. Second, you face is so foul I could not bear to try and third, your gut is too HUGE to ignore. Bottom line, you have doubt about your own sexuality. Go to some Fing Chun clinic already!
