I sincerely admire what Don Bosco has done for the poor & abandoned children. He is such an inspiration. BUT, what has happened to the current Don Bosco educational philosophy? Unlike how it was founded, a student that is found to be "unruly and disobedient" gets expelled and left to his own devices. Where is the conversion? Shouldn't the current Salesians be practicing what they preach?

I'm not being a rebel. I'm just stating an undeniable fact.

@dj9769 I have heard from a Salesian, an experience of him expelling an "unruly and disobedient" student. Years later, this same student approached the Salesian who expelled him and thanked the Salesian for doing a great favor for him. Because by expelling him, the Salesian gave him a wake up call and made him change for the better. I hope that you will have the same experience.

@Yuneeks - FYI, I was not expelled. As a matter of fact I'm a full blooded Bosconian, i.e. primary to college Don Bosco education (18 yrs). I think you missed my point. What I'm just saying is - the philosophy of Don Bosco's AS FOUNDED is not the same philosophy being carried out in running the current schools. If Don Bosco's philosophy was to expel "unworthy" students, I won't even raise the point.
