My CoolIT product failed within the first year of use in my PC. I couldn't find my org receipt, even though I could provide the serial number off the pump. So they won't even give an exchange. 100 dollars down the drain and a damaged PC. Before you consider the Corsair models, know they are also made by CoolIT. I suggest you go with Noctua instead.
I don't trust Liquid Cooling anymore since 2 years ago. :(
One day when we were out and the PC was left on, one of the water tubes cracked, and water leaked onto the Motherboard, and then caught on fire, and then our house caught on fire and did some pretty bad damage. Thankfully we had insurance at the time.
YAAA...FINALLY SOMEONE that will test newer technologies using a freakin AMD processor. Man I have NOTHING bad against intel 980x, 960, 920 etc..but I use amd cpu's. So it's more coherent to what I'll guestimate if i plan to buy this item. Thank you Rodney. I would also LOVE to see how that cooling setup works with phenom II 6 core 3.2 gig cpu. cheers
@ImmortalUniverse The H50 doesn't even compete with high end air coolers..More quite, but I would never call it fantastic. The H70 is only marginally better, but it only competes with high end air. Costs more too.
Noctua NH-U12DX is 80 bucks where as the H70 is 105. LCLC (Low Cost Liquid Cooling) just aren't very good on current processors. They may keep up with AMDs but Intels just bake with them.
@ImmortalUniverse You can think its bullshit all you want, its your rig. If you want, I can show you test after test after test where high end air coolers consistently kept a processor cooler than the h50 could. Everywhere from xtremesystems cm, skinneelabs cm, overclockers cm, etc.
The I3 is hardly something to to base your opinion on.
If you really want to get into water cooling, go give the Swiftech 220 Edge a look. Its a real w/c starters "kit."
@ImmortalUniverse The problem is its only 2 physical and 2 virtual cores vs the 4 and 4 of I7s. Those 4 extra cores put out a ton more heat. The 860, my current processor, runs just as much Vcore as you do. I'm currently at 1.3475 vcore @ 3.6 ghz. Wont stabilize lower than that. I3s aren't running any higher than that unless you are getting 4ghz+ on the oc. When I tried the H50 on it, it kept that meager OC around 61c in OCCT, 64c after 24hr p95, and 69c on Intel Burn Test. Panaflow fans on it.
@ImmortalUniverse If you are really interested in Water cooling, I can tell you most of what you need to know. Some barbs are cheap, but there are several that are very good. Bitspower and koolance both have very good barb tips. Combine it with a metal hose clamp and it will never slip off.
After doing your initial build you should leak test it for 24 hrs by allowing only the pumps to run and not the cpu. Go to overclockers cm and check out their stickies in the w/c forum for more info.
@ImmortalUniverse I'm using the same barbs, clips, tubing from a build I did 3 years ago. Not a single leak yet. The clips from bitspower really are top notch pieces.
Oxidation was a problem in older setups, but not these days since we don't use mixed metals.
Refills are part of it, but it's not as bad as you would think. I do a thorough drain/cleaning every 6 months, but they can go a yr without it.
SLI are so hot that w/c is almost a necessity from what I've seen.
@jeenormus AMD have made good on their socket installations, by making the 939/940, AM2, AM2+ and AM3 screw positions identical. Hell, I can even fit a 754 cooler to the AM2 and v-v. So it will fit all current consumer AMD(the opterons are different, but nobody uses them on everyday rigs - too expensive)
@jeenormus It will fit ANY case with a 120mm fan hole, but you need to have the clearence for the display section. As long as you don't have a fan in the way of the display, it should fit. Look up the dimensions on the CoolIT site or the review(if present), then measure the case. It's the safest bet, though these are designed for use in mid tower cases as you can fit full custom systems to full tower cases.
it not for on game and cant not overclock system because it cant get heat down but risk +29C!!!! that must be heat and sometime it stop work system on game etc!
if anyone want better system then get Cooler Master RR-B2P-UV10-GP V10 Cooler it much good system or water cooling system up to ok i had Cooler Master RR-B2P-UV10-GP V10 Cooler and core i7 960 3.6Ghz to 3.99GHZ overclock temp -7c to -10c it much better system and hot speed game puls it geat system Cooler Master RR-B2P-UV10-GP V10
@AMDOscar The bios reads the temp from the CPU's core and the domino reads the temp of the coolant in the system. So it depends what temp you're interested in reading really...
you can buy a good waterblock for about 20$ use solid copper pipes and synthetic oil if u must . also and please hit me back on this if you dont agree but..... it would make a lott more sense to have the radiator fixed to the outside of the case not inside . and despite what people may say theres absolutely no reason why you shouldnt use an aquarium pump .there reliable and run 24/7 .keep tanks resevoirs rads outside of the case or in another sealed section/compartment. have fun and be safe
@101Hoody no, the point is people watch this and companys know his review affect purchases, so companys send there product for free and he gives a good review. everyone wins, the company wins, he wins. Exept us, we get told a bunch a lies
@101Hoody Well, I purchased this exact item and have not had problems for over 2 years now. I decided to upgrade and was able to use the radiator and Water Block. Great item for the price!
according to the reviews on newegg this cooler got a 35% leaking rate and some of the 1 star reviews said they tried it twice. I am not sure if I would trust this. Seems like corsair h50 is probably the best all in one liquid cooling.
This cooler is junk this thing broke after like 5 months leaked all over my vid card and psu cheap plastic junk this is a warning for all DON'T BUY this save yourself the stress down the road
haha i got that one l0ol for my 1156 came with a 1156 converter bracket pretty nice like 35C on idle stage 2 pushed on stage 3 its about 27C on idle on load its about 49C stage 2 45C stage 3 ^^ core i5 750 at 4 ghz btw
I've been using the Domino A.L.C. for a year now and it's working perfectly still, I'm getting lower temps though. and for a Phenom I CPU that's saying a lot.
CPU is a Phenom X4 9850 BE
32F (0C)minimum and 115F(46.1C) maximum on Idle.
95F(35C) minimum and 131F(55C) maximum on full bore.
I liked this video very very much but really annoying "olympikus" advertisement on the right top corner, very very annoying!!!could not enjoy the this amazing review so d/l instead so that way i could be more concentrated to it.
@HimselFGaminG it might fit, but since the scout case got a window with ventilation and places where you can put fans exactly where the Domino would be placed so it would probably not look so good. it would probably be better to buy the new ECO or Vantage. They are better and nicer looking too.
hey i really need a new cpu cooler for my i7 920 I've looked at the Cooler Master V8 and coolit domino alc i have locked at many difrent benchmarks but i am really confused i have a haf 932 case so spase is not the problem
i dont think you can use this watercooler with a HAF 932 because of where the fans and the window are on the case. id say go for the zalman reserator xt but i think you may have to purchase a new waterblock to go with it, but they are only like £30.
Would not recommend this. I've had both the Coolit Domino and Eliminator. Both of the fan speed controllers on the units failed to work properly. Also, the pump on my Eliminator failed after a few months of use. Coolit refused to allow me to RMA the unit.
I now have a Corsair H50, which is much more impressive. Just a warning. Plenty of people love Coolit, so I'm in the minority. But be aware that these things DO fail, and Coolit may be less then eager to help.
@jeroeniskoning YES YES AND YES!, i have o ne and this is amazing,
first off this is liquid cooling, it will out preform any air cooler and the h50 has the pump inside the water block so that will heat up the pump, this is one of the best liquid cooling solutions for the price of air cooling
I bet u dont need to refill it.... cuz Its sealed I think...... If it does need refilling ~ 1:24 in this video, see the Circle stopper looking thing around where he is pointing at, Maybe thats the refil;ll if it does need a refill
Do I really care? No. Because i'm not overclocking to over 3.8ghz, and the most hardcore game I play on the comp is mw2. So that extra few degrees I don't care about. Don't bother responding cuz you'll sound even more like a troll, you tard.
I was just wondering, at the start of my build i will keep the i7 heat sink installed but, when i upgrade to this one, how would i be able to remove the thermal compound left behind from the i7 heat-sink?
i own a Q9550 E0 which oced to 3.77ghz and using true with Xigmatek 1500rpm 120mm fan , Tuniq Tx3 compound. Ambient temp is 30c idle at 38c and load at 63c
The pumps used on these systems are garbage. Mine lasted 3 months before it went out. It took hours of speaking to CoolIT before they finally agreed to fix/replace the unit, which would have required me to pay for shipping to them and back to me. I ended up scrapping the unit.
I repair computers for a living and every system Ive gotten in for repairs that used a CoolIT system had something wrong with the cooling unit. Save yourself the headache.
@Anapwntian Yes they are. I own a Corsair H60 and I keep a wet filter next to the radiator. I tested it on my Core i7 980 Extreme (4.3 Ghz) outside with an ambient temperature of 38C and the Evaporative Cooling method kept it at a constant of 50C. But you do have to keep on making sure that the filters are wet and not dry.
None, if you are going to go with a budget kit, don't waste your money, get a Megahalems cooler or a TRUE with a good high CFM fan, it will cool as good as those cheap WCng kits. If you are goignt o water cool do it right and spend the 200$ for a good CPU loop.
lol just half a minute ago a guy gave me a completely not matching answer the the same question , I tried to make it clearer in my question and maybe we can get somewhere =D
well i might get this or the coolermaster v10, which one do you think is better, i think this is alot cheaper and easier to fit but ive herd some bad reviews any thoughts
I did that to this cooler with that exact fan, but for some reason there wasn't that much improvement over the stock fan for me.
I replaced the fan on mine because the stock one it came with was making clicking noises when running on low RPM. I'm guessing the ball bearing on it was going bad.
This is still a good unit if you wanna get your feet wet (no pun intended) on a basic watercooling setup though.
...so I did a re-test between this unit and my old Zerotherm Zen 120 heatsink, both using an Ultra-Kaze fan in an air-conditioned room to eliminate any external heat factors, and now I have second thoughts about this Domino Cooler.
It's not as good-performing as I thought. The Domino ALC cooler has a higher Temperature Delta than my previous air cooler, and not to mention my previous cooler was about half the price.
Check my latest video (CPU Re-Test) and see what I mean.
I have AMD Phenom 8450 Triple-Core processor 2.1 GHz. Im gonna buy this cooler and overclock my cpu to about 2.6 GHz or more. But do i need to setup the overclock before i use the cooler? cause i think this cooler could freeze my cpu cause its only 2.1 GHz.

my feelings tell me i should NOT buy this, and go for the H50-H70 corsair.
and i was never wrong when it comes to quality.
i saw some horror tales too about this cooler, from comments on you tube.
so i think ill pass.
i know the H50 is great ,i bought 1 already for a friend.
it works fantastic and silent .

@Landrar personally i think thats bullshit.
i bought the H50 for a friend and he got a i3 core cpu .
his cpu temp is at idle below 20c and on full load/ stress with prime 95 40c.
and thats way better any air cooler could do.
the noctua air coolers are shit in my eyes.
they damage the motherboard and ram slots ,because they are to heavy and bend the mobo.
havent you heard the horror tales yet?
i am gonna buy the new H70 myself.
if it really works better then the h50 im very happy.

@Landrar
listen
a i3 core is using more vcore voltage then a i7 core .
if a h50 can cool down a overclocked i3 core @ 3.6 ghz perfectly, it can also cool down a i7 core perfect.
thats my point .
besides i am a low noise freak, thats why you barely hear my case fans.
so im not planning on air cpu coolers ,goz they are noisy at loads.
ive seen the H50 in action with my own eyes.
so i know the H50 is dead silence at all loads .
and thats the thing that got my eyes on the H50 / H70.

i was thinking of a custom water coolers.
but to be honest i am little scared of water leaks.
the barb and tube connection on custom coolers look so cheap to me .
im afraid water will leak after a while.
maybe in the future for my grafics cards if i dont like the noise of the Zalman V3000Fcooler.
then i probably buy a custom water cooler with big radiator and only cool 2 sli grafics cards with it.
i would still do the cpu seperatly with a H70 and leave the mobo as it is.

aha, well thnx for the info.
i still dont trust it to be honest, 24 hour test is not a year or longer.
what will it do after a year?
will there be oxidation or will the metal clips get looser.
i also dont like rerfills and checking the water level.
im gonna stay away from custom coolers as long as possible.
so i hope i dont need it when i finaly got 2 cards in SLI .
i hope the Zalman v3000f cooler is silent enough.

hey i really need a new cpu cooler for my i7 920 I've looked at the Cooler Master V8 and coolit domino alc i have locked at many difrent benchmarks but i am really confused i have a haf 932 case so spase is not the problem
hhgbb 2 years ago
i dont think you can use this watercooler with a HAF 932 because of where the fans and the window are on the case. id say go for the zalman reserator xt but i think you may have to purchase a new waterblock to go with it, but they are only like £30.
steevyp 2 years ago
Would not recommend this. I've had both the Coolit Domino and Eliminator. Both of the fan speed controllers on the units failed to work properly. Also, the pump on my Eliminator failed after a few months of use. Coolit refused to allow me to RMA the unit.
I now have a Corsair H50, which is much more impressive. Just a warning. Plenty of people love Coolit, so I'm in the minority. But be aware that these things DO fail, and Coolit may be less then eager to help.

Will this perform well in an Antec 902 case?
Does this outperform a V8 in such a case?
Does this outperform a H50?
Do they ship an i5 brace thing?
PLZ answer cuz I want to one if it does those things =D.
jeroeniskoning 2 years ago
@jeroeniskoning YES YES AND YES!, i have o ne and this is amazing,
first off this is liquid cooling, it will out preform any air cooler and the h50 has the pump inside the water block so that will heat up the pump, this is one of the best liquid cooling solutions for the price of air cooling
Fitality101 2 years ago
so how do you refill it if it runs out of liquid?
Quicken2k 2 years ago
No. modern warfare 2

boobie284 2 years ago
how come i dont need to refill the reservoir
sjcronberg21 2 years ago
if it is fully closed where does the liquid go ?? it just stays inside so you don't need to refill
themassau 2 years ago
I bet u dont need to refill it.... cuz Its sealed I think...... If it does need refilling ~ 1:24 in this video, see the Circle stopper looking thing around where he is pointing at, Maybe thats the refil;ll if it does need a refill
boobie284 2 years ago
Eh, I got the corsair h50 instead. It just seems better in my gut.
simysimy9 2 years ago 2
LOL, ur such a tard. Do u ever compare specs with other items? this out preforms the h50.
Fitality101 2 years ago
Do I really care? No. Because i'm not overclocking to over 3.8ghz, and the most hardcore game I play on the comp is mw2. So that extra few degrees I don't care about. Don't bother responding cuz you'll sound even more like a troll, you tard.

Hi.
I was just wondering, at the start of my build i will keep the i7 heat sink installed but, when i upgrade to this one, how would i be able to remove the thermal compound left behind from the i7 heat-sink?

I just have one more question. Does it require watercooling maintenance?
ZoneDamage 2 years ago
so how do i know if it needs refilling ?
yoda40111 2 years ago
it does? he said that it needed "less refills"
If you wonder when you need to do it watch the temp if its getting higher as the pc have been up for a time u might wanna refill ;)
marcus2630 2 years ago
it doesnt need ANY refills :D

i own a Q9550 E0 which oced to 3.77ghz and using true with Xigmatek 1500rpm 120mm fan , Tuniq Tx3 compound. Ambient temp is 30c idle at 38c and load at 63c
stevenlys 2 years ago
The pumps used on these systems are garbage. Mine lasted 3 months before it went out. It took hours of speaking to CoolIT before they finally agreed to fix/replace the unit, which would have required me to pay for shipping to them and back to me. I ended up scrapping the unit.
I repair computers for a living and every system Ive gotten in for repairs that used a CoolIT system had something wrong with the cooling unit. Save yourself the headache.
xndrxw 2 years ago
This hardly keeps my Q6600 cool on summer days in california, I've even once hit thermal threshold temp with it on high performance cooling..
This was not the solution for me, very very dependent on the ambient temperature.
Anapwntian 2 years ago
@Anapwntian Yes they are. I own a Corsair H60 and I keep a wet filter next to the radiator. I tested it on my Core i7 980 Extreme (4.3 Ghz) outside with an ambient temperature of 38C and the Evaporative Cooling method kept it at a constant of 50C. But you do have to keep on making sure that the filters are wet and not dry.
P.S: I used a Delta 220 CFM Fan. ;)

jesus u on air cooling ? what board you have ? im not an experienced oc'er. and also what temps are you getting ? in crysis for instance thanks XD
NOMADLEON 2 years ago
i have to chose from this cooling kit or the corsair H50, witch do you think is better for overclocking?
8RUT4l 2 years ago
None, if you are going to go with a budget kit, don't waste your money, get a Megahalems cooler or a TRUE with a good high CFM fan, it will cool as good as those cheap WCng kits. If you are goignt o water cool do it right and spend the 200$ for a good CPU loop.

lol just half a minute ago a guy gave me a completely not matching answer the the same question , I tried to make it clearer in my question and maybe we can get somewhere =D

any chance you already got the answer for this quistion? I'm looking for the same thing

well i might get this or the coolermaster v10, which one do you think is better, i think this is alot cheaper and easier to fit but ive herd some bad reviews any thoughts

Yeah, why wouldn't it? The Antec side panel might cover up some of the Domino's LCD screen though.

is the coolint temp the temp of your cpu?
90102noob 2 years ago
no. if you want to know that use speed fan
dacooter 2 years ago
im going to get this for my e8400. Does this come with thermal paste or will i have to buy some?
90102noob 2 years ago
in the video he said it comes with a thin layer of thermal compound.
dacooter 2 years ago
does it need thermal paste?
laksan93 2 years ago
It comes pre-applied with thermal paste. Most users use higher grade paste.

watch the video. he says it comes with a thin layer

I'm planning to build a rig with the antec 902 case, and the e8600 processor. Will I be able to overclock my processor safely with this cooler?
nNaoh 2 years ago 2
yes, im getting this cpu cooler next week. cooling a E8400, But im planning on remove the Coolit stock fan with a good Ultra Kaze fun.
94519933 2 years ago
I did that to this cooler with that exact fan, but for some reason there wasn't that much improvement over the stock fan for me.
I replaced the fan on mine because the stock one it came with was making clicking noises when running on low RPM. I'm guessing the ball bearing on it was going bad.
This is still a good unit if you wanna get your feet wet (no pun intended) on a basic watercooling setup though.
soma1509 2 years ago
@94519933
You can't. The electronics might burn out in the unit and it is really tough to swap the stock fan. :(
Unasigad 1 month ago
The e8400/ e8600 could be easily cooled by the new Thermalright low profile cooler. You can do so w/o a fan and will cool just fine under load.
If you are running a quad core, then it's better to mount the fan.
AdmiralCecil 2 years ago
...so I did a re-test between this unit and my old Zerotherm Zen 120 heatsink, both using an Ultra-Kaze fan in an air-conditioned room to eliminate any external heat factors, and now I have second thoughts about this Domino Cooler.
It's not as good-performing as I thought. The Domino ALC cooler has a higher Temperature Delta than my previous air cooler, and not to mention my previous cooler was about half the price.
Check my latest video (CPU Re-Test) and see what I mean.

I'm buying one of these tomorrow! I can't wait. :D Watercooling for dummies!
