  • It certainly would have been interesting

  • I think so. I remember seeing two CEltics hanging on his arms went he went in for a dunk. Lokk at his Biceps. ALso his reach was huge

  • @60slover1 huge biceps ..that's skinny man bodystyle...7 feet and weighs 220...that's below average...tehse basketballers have thin arms, and legs,,,and the biceps might look accentuated, but arnold was past his prime in the late eighties...and his biceps was still a lot bigger than wilt, being a foot taller....

  • Wilt would have killed him. One of the most powerful men I have ever seen

  • @60slover1 Wilt's one the greatest athletes ever, but does that mean he could automatically beat one the best boxer's of all-time?

  • I can't hear shit

  • That was funny. Three of the greatest in sports right there. Howard Cosell was a master of sports narration.

  • What does Ali say and before we fight I want you to chop that beard off because.. because what?

  • @KidDynaMyt i think Muhammad Ali said "chop that beard off because im not fighting a billy goat."

  • wilt dont get your ass whip dogg lol stick 2 BBALL

  • Wilt doesn't look the least bit worried. Ali on the other hand.......

  • What's wrong with you sissies? This shit is classic! These guys are like two larger than life cartoon characters. It's just banter for the sake of entertainment. I wish Mayweather would get into it with Dwight Howard.

  • now i know how unsportmanlike that nigga ali is. glad he crippled now

  • @saigondj Don't complain about the lack of sportsmanship when you're talking mega shit behind a anonymous username. It makes you look like a huge faggoty pussy.

  • why does ali so cocky? he aint my hero

  • In terms of endurance I think Wilt could last sometime, there is no question as it relates to basketball that he had the most stamina of any player of his time. He holds almost every record in relation to minutes played. But boxing and basketball are two very different kinds of endurance. Wilt's strength and reach may give him an advantage early. But Ali was a master at psyching out his opponents and he was so quick in the ring. I'd say Ali would run circles around him late in the fight.

  • @freshprinceofbaz: go fuck urself too...

  • What killed the black man? His ego

  • @movalcadillac black man's ego = thinks he the greatest fighter/backetball player

White man's ego = spray women and children with high-powered fire hoses because white people are "supreme"

  • @HanomanSuper That's right, we are always being kept down, we need to unite to rise

  • Wilt would have got his ass kicked, but considering how much of an athlete wilt was, one of the fastest, strongest and obviously biggest of his time...Id say he'd have a CHANCE to knock ali out...my reasoning? Ali would underestimate him, and wilt COULD have got a lucky shot off...considering the man was around 300 pounds I'm sure a punch from him would feel like a mule kick....it would have to be a lucky shot though...or Ali just testing how hard he its....Otherwise, alo is a pro...come on now

  • If anybody ever tried to box 3 minute rounds and never did it--its hard to just hold your hands up for 3 minutes and Wilt would have been swinging like a sissy by round 3.

  • I remember Dallas Cowboys' Ed Too Tall Jones who stood at 6'10" tried his hand at boxing and got knocked out by an unranked heavyweight.

  • It would have been a sight to see a 7' foot man fall like a tree.

  • Muhammad Ali said Chamberlain would have fell like a tree... TIMBERRRR ! Looooool

  • @mrcjrowe and then he backed out of the fight...

  • @Epimpin101 Who backed out of the fight ? Ali ? If you mean Ali then I don't think so because Wilt Chamberlain wasn't more dangerous or scarier than a Sonny Liston or George Foreman. And like Muhammad Ali said... Wilt Chamberlain would have fell like a tree... TIMBERRRR !

  • @mrcjrowe thats what Jim Brown said in an interview, that Ali's manager feared an upset because of Wilt's height, so he backed out of the fight.

  • @Epimpin101 Yeah but you said Ali backed out when he never backed out of a fight with nobody. So now it was his MANAGER who backed out. Ok I'll accept that it wasn't Muhammad Ali but his manager.

  • The first time Ali met this guy he looked him up and down and just said one word: timber. The fight never took place.

  • Chamberlain would fuck up Ali so hard. He's got the speed and size.

    ffs

  • @xTnT87 that dont equate to fight skills. Ali would out point him and beat him with his mind. I love Wilt Chamberlin, but boxing and basketball are two VERY different sports

  • @xTnT87 LOL u tool

  • @RichCwm LOL you ez spawn. Go sit on dick more.

  • @xTnT87 that's your job, faggot

  • @RichCwm Nah fucking scrub. Faggot retards like you come to youtube to find dicks when there is something called google.

  • @xTnT87 good come back, retard

  • @xTnT87

You are one of the dummest people ive ever seen online! Are you really so stupid to believe that? Go fuck yourself

  • Wilt could have entered the NBA younger but at the NBA did not accept players who had not finished their last year of studies. Therefore, Wilt was prohibited from joining the NBA for a year. Wilt's problem was that he needed a coach like Alex Hannum or Bill Sharman who were the coaches that talked Wilt to concentate on playing defense and passing more. As a result Wilt won 2 championship rings in his NBA career. The 1967 Lakers and 1986 Celtics the best teams I've had the pleasure to watch live.

  • unlike ali, i thought heda sai AND I WHUPPED sonny liston!! knocked him cold in 1 round!! [not that he did but u no him] i would hav loved to see him slaughter this freak of nature

  • The Greatest of all time. Ali wispered in Wilt's ear, 'Timber' and he ran a mile. Enough said.

  • with all his natural athletic god given talents...i think if chamberlain would have been a boxer he would be better than ali....just look how big he is and how mobile he was! is like can you imagine if shaq would have been a boxer instead of basketball player...so strong..mobile...or even today dwight howard could have been a hw champion it's just that these athletes persue the dollar signs and that's why they go to the nba and nfl...that is why the hw division is dead these days.

  • @tmh1717 Yeah, if Wilt had been a boxer there would be no Ali, no Frazier, no Foreman...at least not as the greats we know them.

  • @DuckwalkSupreme well I ain't saying that wilt would beat them...but he would be great at boxing because he moves fast, agile and strong...and he is a smart athlete....unlike Valuev and others who are only a freakshow..that are not that fast...but wilt was a gifted athlete ...like roy jones...they would be good at any sport they dedicated to.

  • @tmh1717 I am saying that. If Wilt had decided as a child to be a boxer instead of a basketball player, I'm certain he would be considered one of the greatest of all time, if not THE greatest of all time.

  • @DuckwalkSupreme it takes alot more than height and reach to win fight.

  • @324582782 Yeah, it takes strength, quickness, toughness <---All things that Wilt had. The other most important thing is experience and knowing how to box, things that Wilt did not have, but my point was that if Wilt had decided to box as a child instead of play basketball, I think Ali would not have had a chance. Wilt was a track star in high school, so he wasn't just a stiff, he was a tremendous athlete.

  • @DuckwalkSupreme to different sport, imagine what inside fighters would have done to him. and since he is so tall there wont be enough space for him to move around the ring and will make him an easy target for inside fighters.

  • @DuckwalkSupreme if you watch fights or ever get in a ring you would know that with height you loose speed, Inside fighters would have killed him and tortured him. It would have been extremely hard for him to even hit Ali because ali would be too low for him. So many factors come into place. Go watch shaq vs oscar de la hoya and you'll know what i'm talking about.

  • @324582782 Shaq vs oscar de la hoya isn't the same thing here. I'm not talking about Wilt just stepping into the ring and being a badass, I'm talking about Wilt training his whole life to be a boxer instead of a bball player and then being a badass. I'd guess that he would have been at least as mobile as the Klitchko bros and probably at least as strong. And he really wouldn't have to be super quick, just quick enough with his hands to keep guys from getting close to him.

  • @DuckwalkSupreme ya that goes for every one. Even if you train and dedicate your life to a sport you will see results and may become the best

  • @DuckwalkSupreme some sports are not made for everyone. Im not saying he wouldnt have done well if he started in his youth, but dont think just because he was good at basketball he would be a good boxer. In boxing you need to be tough. Some men think theyre tough, others may think theyre tough too, but its insane how much the ring demands of the will. Most people dont have it in them.

  • @tmh1717 you're halfway outta ur mind if you think that just size and athleticism alone could make you a great fighter...if that was the case DWIGHT HOWARD WOULD HAVE BEEN THE BEST BALLER EVER...but he's not ITS KOBE BRYANT AND MJ. So when it comes to fighting its the same factors. I've seen a MMA fight were a 6'0 tall man knocked out a 6'11 kickboxer.

  • @santino2k6 you got to be kidding me if you're comparing half assed dwight howard to wilt chamberlain?? WILT was just as competetive as MJ and Russell...so in terms of competetive nature...yes he could have been a great boxer because he was dedicated to his craft..his game didn't consist of brute force. Wilt unlike dwight was very very skilled.

  • @tmh1717 obviously you can't read.

  • @santino2k6 you bring up Dwight...in a Wilt conversation..blasphemous.

  • @tmh1717 No he wasn't. And his playoffs stats prove that. Even Wilt say if he was lacking anything it would have been that killer instinct MJ had. His words. He just didn't have the aggressiveness to go that extra gear in the playoffs.

  • @NBAGOATS He said other people thought that was negative, he himself didn't think so. He thought you should use skill rather than brute strength, which is actually quite admirable.

  • @tmh1717 WUHAUHUHAUHAHUAHHAAHAUAUHHUAHUAUHUAUAHUHAHAUAHUAU AUHHUAUHAUHAUHH AHAUAHUHAUH AUHAHUAUHUHAAHUHAUHA UAHUHAUHAUHAH UAHUAUHAUHA HAUAUHHUAUH AUHHUHUAUH AUAUHHUA UHAHUAHUAUHHUA UAHHUAHAH AHAH HAHAHAH AHHA AH AHUAHUA H AUHAHUA HUAHUHUA HUAHUA AH AHUA UHAHU AHUA HU HUAUH HUAHU A HUHU AHUAHU A HUAH U HUA HU HUA UHAUH AAHUA HUAU HUH AHUAHU AU HA UHA HUA HUAUH HUA AUH HUA HUA HUA HUA UHA HUA UHA HUAH U YEAH HAHAHA HAHA HRIIIIIIIGHT AHHAHAHAHAHA

  • the only fact that keeps cuming up about Chamberlain is that he supported a 12" erection as thick as his wrist!

  • Muhammad Ali would beat Holmes in his prime. Ali wouldn't give it his best during sparring because he worked on his weakness. Ali would have given Tyson a surprised whupping. And so what if fighters like Norton gave Ali a hard time. Norton, who was past his prime, gave Holmes trouble as well. Norton was a good fighter. All great fighters have had hard times with other fighters. IT'S NOTHING NEW !

  • Wilt was a great athlete, but he would not have had the ring experience and ring savy to beat Muhammad who was just about to reach the peak of his talent and skills at the time. I don't think Ali would have KO'd Wilt, but Wilt would have definitely been battered for 15 rounds.

  • "and cut that beard cause i'm not fighting a billie goat" ..........LOL

  • i wonder how people from that generation reacted to ali's behavior on the show, cuz he was acting arrogant & we all know if mayweather did this now everyone would hate on him.

  • Comment removed

  • The Greatest!

  • This was just a publicity stunt. These guys were actually good friends.

  • i knew this video was a while ago cause i saw minnesota vikings beating a team...

  • Ali was so insecure, every single time, he had to moan. I like him better when he fights because I don't have to hear him bitch every single time.

Look at his quality of life now, looks like a retard with Parkinson. Wilt, if alive, would destroy him today.

  • @bigben0316 You're being very disrespectfull and acting inhuman.

  • @michaelyouth He was not blocking punches like he should, hands were kept low, thus getting hit in the face a lot, triggering that shake he has.

I hate athletes that are full of themselves.

  • @bigben0316 You're acting as if you're a medic. I've boxed too. And to be quit honest, I never had my hands up.

Maybe that's why I haven't been able to become a professional; I did get knocked down.

Ali had the reflexes to back it up. And when I kept my hands low, it wasn't because I'm full of myself.

It was because it's so hard to move around good with your hands up. But man, seriously you don't have to be so disrespectfull. The guy did great things.

  • @bigben0316 Say that to his face. Even at 70 Muhammad Ali would still fuck you up!

  • @BrianSou69 Huh, no. I'm taller and I weigh more than him, and being half his age, I would choke him out in 5 seconds.

  • @bigben0316 Ali has KILLED guys twice his height and men who were made of WAAAY tougher stuff than you. Keep talking shit on the Internet. It's obvious you aren't a fighter or a person who knows anything about boxing history.

  • @BrianSou69 ALi only fought one guy 6'6"earnie terrell.and he only outpointed him.I think Lennox Lewis would have given ali trouble because lewis had a great jab too.Holmes said when he sparred with ali for the first frazier fight,he was able to block all the ali jabs with his left hand and constantly throw and land rights on ali.Ali was great at pulling rabbits out of his hat but he couldnt with norton 3 times even though he won two fights.I think he lost all 3 with norton.Tyson of 88 beats ali

  • Ali will be knock him out !

  • Beautiful! Classic! Ali at his best and Wilt the Stilt a tremendous giant of a man in heart and spirit. Honestly, I think Wilt was too nice of guy to beat Ali. Wilt never wanted to be the ogre, the bully, the guy you hate to see coming. Wilt wanted to be a ladies' man, popular guy, part Renaissance man. In a way, Wilt played the game of basketball to please crowds. Wilt was far better than Russell and Willis Reed and he let both of them best him because he never wanted to be disliked.

  • @PatentRob he is to copetitive to let anyone beat him, but i think bill russel is better than wilt lol

  • they both seemed pretty serious about it, wish it would have happened

  • Wilt = The Ass Master.

  • my grandpa is a fame basketball player and he saw wilt do 100 1 handed pushups

  • @doobiebrother2 yay.

  • @doobiebrother2 Wow really ?? Did he tell you anything else about Wilts unhuman strenght ?

  • Ali said "i will knock you out in one punch, and i will scream TIMBER!" and wilt never spoken about the fight again, besides ali woulda won because he is the greatest boxer of all time... He knows how to get people like wilt in his trap

  • It's so weird to see Ali look so small up against another man. He's like a little kid by comparison. LOL! It's too bad this fight never happened. It would have been a farce, but still very entertaining.

  • funny but its easy ali would won in boxing wilt in bball thats what they what they did

  • Ali: and cut that beard off bcoze..?

  • Muhammad Ali once said if he fought WILT CHAMBERLAIN you would hear TEMMMMMMMMBEEEEEEEERRRRRRRR!!!!

  • Ali would just destroy him. work on the body of wilt

  • the great part about this clip is there is respect from all three parties.humor too.

  • Ali would have hurt Wilt I am afraid.

  • Everyone with doubts about ALi JUST WATCH SHAQUILEE O NEAL vs OSCAR de la hoya......... 7 foot tall 91 reach losses to small welterweight in exbition, heavyweight 6'3 or 5'11 oscar??????????? watch the actual fight on youtube Ali has to fight proper heavyweights first please remember this

  • @B04Jordan that wasn't even real fight stupid. It was a publicity stunt. Shaq would murder Oscar De La Hoya if he pissed him off.

  • @SamuelMoralesJr I 100% agree I am just sayin that if oscar (welter)can hit Shaq with combinations, Ali could hit Wilt with combinations as well, as I am sure you would agree

  • Ali destroys Wilt - and quick

  • Don't comment about boxing. You know NOTHING! Wilt Chamberlain would have been KOed by the first B level heavyweight he met. Don't even talk about the heavyweight champion in the same breath. We know how fighters the size of Chamberlain do. We have fighters the size of Chamberlain who have trained for years as fighters. Julius Long 7' got KOed by 6'2" Sam Peter, Tye Fields, Odlanier Solis. Long's cousin and brother were NBA players. Chamberlain had no fight experience. = KO.

  • '92 reach wdf thats crazy

  • Comment removed

  • hey the eagles beat the browns 34-32 in OT lol

  • Wilt was a gym rat - and a great athlete in any regards - had all the physical advantages - but Muhammad has that "find a way to win" quality.

If you think about it Wilt had all that on Russell too - Russel (even more than Ali) had that "find a way to win" quality.

Wilt may have lost... be he was NOT going down easy.

  • @AMilitantAgnostic Did you see the fight between Shaq and Oscar De La Hoya? Shaq weighed 325lbs to Oscar's 150lbs. In the end, Oscar won. If it was a street fight, Shaq would've won. But it was boxing. Shaq needed to KO Oscar to win. He didn't and Oscar won because he's a professional fighter and outpointed him. I think if it was a street fight, Wilt would have taken it. Otherwise it'd go to Ali.

  • Of course this chump would be absolutely destroyed within 30 seconds. Foolish argument.

  • Wilt would have as much chance to beat Ali in boxing as Ali would in a one on one basketball game against Wilt. One shot on the jaw and Wilt would have his lights put out. It is ridiculous to think Wilt could beat a heavy weight champ.

  • Look at Ali's face at 7:02 when he sees the size of Wilt's hand in comparison to his, lol; makes his had look like a childs.

Of course Ali would've destroyed him; he was one of the best, if not the best, boxers of all-time who trained in the sport all his life who would've been fighting a guy who never trained in the sport.

If Chamberlain got some coaching, given his innate strength, athleticism and size advantage, he may have given Ali something to think about for a while.

    Not for long, though.

  • omg ali would break wilt in half without ever having to hit him in the face

  • Ali's reach is exactly the same as David Haye's. You can see it here.

  • Every basketball player or NFL player would be KOed by any decent heavyweight. Too Tall Jones 6'9" All Pro NFL had 6 fights. He was pampered and had a paper record, because in his first fight he was KOed by a journeyman Abraham Meneses. Out for one minute. But his promoters had the officials in their pocket. Meneses was disqualified for hitting him after he had KOed him. After that Jones never fought a fighter with a winning record. Ali would KO Chamberlain faster than Meneses did Jones.

  • Pretty sure Ali would have won. I know Wilt was strong and if I was in a bar fight, I may prefer him over Ali, but you get them in the ring, Ali would win everytime.

  • Kinda like Bruce Lee vs Kareem Abdul Jabbar! In the movie. Bruce won. But in reality, who would have won?

  • @bayern4316 Kareem

  • yep ali should challenge him one on one or better yet, mike tyson vs jordan in his prime... give me a break!

  • so how come they never had the fight??

  • @smarteffort Wilt refused to sign. It can only be assumed he got cold feet.

  • Ali is like Bill Russell - he always seems to find a way to win.

But you kinda see it in his eyes - he is looking at Wilt saying 'damn".

Then again I'm sure Russell said that too - and we all know how that turned out for Wilt.

  • @ReformBarackObama well Wilt was better as far as individual talent...but russell was a far better teamate for his team! but both intelligent players on the court...although i give russell the edge on that one.

  • casius clay was very ambitious and yet very talkative during that time......imagine he was a boxer who liked to fight basketball player wilt chamberlain in the ring......very unprofessional, conceited. what now ha? your time had passed and you're not anymore the greatest as you were kept telling before. you were not a truly fighter like pacquiao that every boxing fan will really enjoy his performance in the ring.

  • You are talking shit...he was a big mouth.... so fucking what???

  • according to sources close to wilt, he backed out of the fight realizing that he didn't want to hurt one of the biggest figures in african american rights, ie Ali, because just like Wilt himself, his agents, Ali's agents, and most people, hell even Ali himself, they knew that Wilt would have been able to beat him, the size differencial is just too great. It's like if you got one of those lightweight MMA champions to fight a 300 pound wrestler, guess who's gonna win?

  • It's like if you got one of those lightweight MMA champions to fight a 300 pound wrestler, guess who's gonna win?

You neEd to watch more mma dude

  • @nomnomsquirrel

    you're retarded

  • @nomnomsquirrel i aint fighting no billy goats, get that thing shaved off... classic!

  • @nomnomsquirrel Don't comment about boxing. = KO.

  • Ali talks so much shit -- I love it! hahaha He's great. I would have loved to see this fight, but I'm glad it didn't happen, I have to say. Wouldn't want to injure either of these guys, and while it's an occupational hazard for guys like Ali, Wilt's smooth finger roll might not have worked as well after a fight with the Greatest.

For the record, I think Wilt would have destroyed him.

  • @Jahjaga : Ali talks so much shit -- I love it! = WHAT SHIT R U REFERRING TO?

For the record, I think Wilt would have destroyed him.= WHAT RECORD? WHY ARE YOU GUESSING WITHOUT KNOWING HOW CHAMBERLAIN FIGHTS OR HIS CAPABILITIES?

  • Gotta love the witty exchanges. Wilt is lean and clean, clever and cool. He's very polished, as is Ali. Cosell milks the whole thing, of course. These guys were cool and real.

  • this would have been a joke. ali maybe the greateset HW of all time vs a guy with no boxing exp..... i mean really... wtf?

  • ALI WOULD HAVE DESTROYED IM TO ATHLETIC CHAMBERLIN IS TALL VERY TALL BUT THATS NOT ENOUGH!

  • not really lol....both of the guys had a different personality. I mean Wilt was and had always been known to be calm with a course a few exceptions....but Ali on the other hand....liked to mouth a whole lot to oponents before he actually defeated them for most of the times and that was Ali's personality......

  • ali: "bill russel is going to be my sparring partner" LOL

  • is this for real or are they kidding around?

  • @44joints ....nah, it was for real....however later ALI lost to someone and th fight was never done unfortunately

  • @benjianubis...... yeah that would have been interesting!

  • @44joints ...indeed it would have.....you know, come to think of it...i think most likely it would have been categorized as a first class exhibition due to the fact that Wilt Chamberlain wasn't a boxer and he wasnt going for the tittle.. I think the person who ALi lost was Ken Norton in view of the fact that they never had that fight. Even though later Ali beat Ken Norton.

  • @benjianubis ...do you think that secretly Ali was slightly apprehensive?..... It's kind of eerie how WC was very calm collected and confident.

  • Lol Ali " And Cut that beard off because im not fighting Billy Goats"

  • ali would've cut wilt down like a tree. his "timber!" expression is accurate.

  • according to jim brown, ali's manager doubted ali's chances against such a tall opponent and ali backed out...

  • i think wilt may have realize what he actually may have gotten himself into right before ali left

  • lmao @ ali and Bundini screaming at the end
