Yeah, what really hurts you in this game is that finding quest items gives you no experience. The only way to get experience is by killing monsters. Figuring it takes 6,400 experience to reach level 8, that's a long damn time. Of course the Underworld is jam packed with monsters but you really need to be at least 7th level (preferably have two mages at that level) down there because it is rather difficult.
@storrs19 I wouldn't mind so much if there were an autobattle or autotarget function or something. I haven't finished recording for the game yet, but let me tell you, I am getting more than a little annoyed with the combat. It's not as bad as U4's combat system, though.
@aulddragon Very true. At least in Ultima 5 you can set an active player and the diagonal attack does help. Of course the easiest way to deal with combat is to use rings of invisibility. That way if it is a bunch of low exp monsters like bats you can just sit there and pass a few turns and they will all leave, ha ha. The other very helpful thing is the Crown of Lord British. That is a Godsend when you start fighting a bunch of daemons and gazers in the dungeons.
