@planedestroyer94 yea, the little iron duke 2.5 liter engines only turned 5k before redline. Most V-8 cars redline around 6000 rpm's. I know them honda's and toyotas turn a lot more rpm 7k and the H22a motors turn over 10k, but you got to remember the times too...the car was a 1987 after all.
@planedestroyer94 Yea, it's amazing how far engines have advanced as far as how many rpms they can turn, I hear some of the smaller mowers on race go karts and racing lawnmower engines can turn 20,000 rpms and higher.
@planedestroyer94 and the funny thing is the big diesel trucks put out 450+ horsepower and 1500+ft lbs of torque and most never turn over 2100 rpms (yes thats correct two thousand rpms)
@rodthepimp is that how you got circumcised? Damn man you need to get a life, it's sad that you have napolean syndrome and have to try to cut a person down to make yourself feel better. I could care less on your thoughts of me. I pay more in taxes in a week than you make in a week, and I make more in 1 month than you make in 3 months. Go back to burger king and flip annother couple hundred whoppers collect your 50 dollars a day and live like a king living of the dollar menu you burger bitch.
@rodthepimp listen dipshit. If you don't stop, I'm gonna come out to Kentucky, barge into your house, kick your sisters tits out of your mouth and slap you across your red neck.
@DevilsTale ironically the 4 cylinder was quicker than the six.. I had a friend that had a 6 cylinder and it was slow. I mean after all you are talking a 2.5 liter v/s a 2.8 liter motor. When you consider the 4 cylinder was a 151 CI and the V6 was 181 CI then that isn't a substantial difference...tack on the extra weight of the six and there was absolutely no performance gain stock for stock.
@rodthepimp I do believe it is actually yeehaw...man you definitely need a dictionary, or atleast some common sense to check out google and know that you are spelling a word right...instead of appearing to be a kindergarten drop out.
well actually it's 40 PSI. And it also depends on the Outside Air Temp the weight and viscosity of the oil. By the way it was in the 90's that day. But I'm not going to argue it because clearly you didn't read the other comments where I stated I moved and I got rid of the car...So I guess It's not really such a bad thing now is it?
Yea, I was a little surprised it started easily too. But it sat from 99-07 because the fuel pump was working (but the rubber hose coming off the fuel pump rotted and turned to mush...and hence no fuel to the TBI and no start) We figured it was a fuel problem back in 99 when we sprayed starter fluid in and it ran...till the fluid burned off. I know why they call the motor an "IRON DUKE" now...and why they have the rep of being darn near bullet proof...lol.
Well Considering the car had not been started from 1999 to 2007 (because of mechanical issues and me having lack of time to fix) I think it started pretty good. So it needs a light and buzzer replaced...no biggie and not a real problem as I got rid of the car when I moved to Florida. I've owned enough cars to know that there is no such thing as a PERFECT car they all have their own quarks...yes even the brand new ones.
I'll Post one up for you, I just have to go get it...Moved to Florida about 8 months ago and left the car at my sister's. So I been Mustangless, until I go get it, but it has almost nothing stock on it. Give me a couple monthsmaybe 3 and I'll post it if I have gotten it down to florida by then:)
Looking like sometime around September will be when I go get the Stang...as this is when I'm going on vacation and will definitely be getting my car:) So maybe sometime around the middle of Sept....If I don't get too sidetracked driving it...lol

I'm surprised, that was an awfully easy start for sitting 8 years.
When mine sat about 6mos-1yr, it took a few minutes to get going.
