Oh, I did a paper on amelia in college. in 2005.  That's how I knew this stuff Marga. :P

By the way-another of those sort of ground breaking women helped establish a place out near my place in South Carolina.

Know what you mean re B&B's. Somehow I expect them to smell of lavender and be inhabited by 80yr old ladies OR be the setting of a Cluedo game (you know mrs green in the parlor with a candlestick) creepy from the get go! I think you were very brave to take the plunge!(No bathroom pun intended) and stay in one. Loving your vids! :)

Hey Marga, It's your old pal Sidney. The same thing actually happened to me when I first moved to SF. We were staying at the VanGreen Hotel at the intersection of (well, you guessed it,Van Ness & Green)& the door handle fell off while I was in the bathroom. I panicked, banged on the wall & yelled each time I heard the elevator stop on my floor. I memorized all the toiletry labels. Eventually (like 2 hours later), I was rescued & to this day I still have a fear of unknown bathrooms.

LOL, I lived in an old house here in Annapolis that had a crappy knob like that on the front door. No good! Oh, but it's "historic". Whatever. If you ever have a knob like that, remember to ALWAYS turn it to the right. Righty tighty!
