  • It sound like someone's grilling some epic barbecue to this song

  • we women rreallly blew it when we 'allowed' guys to get by with the rock and later c/rap culture we should have insisted that lyrics stayed clean (song is about soldier boy leaving his sweetheart in ww2 [all the world will be free]))---music DOES AFFECT people--now there is sooo much out of wedlock kids--sigh--

  • This is a special song for me. Thanks for posting

  • You can almost smell the vinyl. This song is another reason that 1963 was the best year ever for music.

  • SLAMZ A BEER

  • @contessavaughnessa

Thank you for your service to our country!

  • How I wish music like this was still being recorded. The music of today, particularly rap, is pure junk, with a capital J.

  • My father always told me this song was from WW ll...I think it is one of the most beautiful songs ever.

    Thanks for posting it.

  • First came out in 1944 written by Eddie Seiler, Sol Marcus, and Guy Wood. It was a plea of a soldier before going into war.

  • @TNFlightNurse Artists who have recorded this song: Laurindo Almeida James Brown (1964) Les Brown and his Orchestra (1944) The Classics (1963) Sammy Davis Jr. (1960) Geraldo and his Orchestra (1944) The Hilltoppers (1954) Leslie Hutchinson (1944) Norman Luboff Choir The Mills Brothers (1944) Tom Morrell & The Time-Warp Tophands The Orioles (1954) Ray Peterson (1960) Ruby & The Romantics Hank Thompson Chester Zardis Michael Bublé Dean Martin
  • I rememember this version from 1963. This song was great. Little did I realize the Mills brothers did this song from the 40's.

  • Can I get some help? Looking for a group who did "'Til."

Like I'll love you ". ..'til the rivers flow upstream... " etc.

    Thanks for your help.

  • I believe you are looking for "Till" by The Angels (Female group)1961 Caprice label

A great slow dance song back in the day. ;-)

  • Angels

  • That was the Angels. They're post on YouTube. They usually come up best by typing in Angels and 'Til. If you don't, you could spend the rest of your life looking for them.

  • My best friend is one of the original Classics I Give a shout out to ya "John Delcoure" God BLess ya man.

  • I remember this song by THE HILLTOPPERS. Probably circa 1953.

  • my father used to play this version over and over while sitting in the living room,he may have had a tear in his eye.i am sure he had his memories

  • I believe this song first came out during WW II- I'm not sure who did the original.

  • Mills Brothers, I have it on 78

  • I would be happy to help another doo-wop

fan. First tell me what software you are

    using to download youtube videos?

  • with limewire you just have to keep trying.. it took me 2mos to download one song but i got it from limewire.. need exact title dont give up

  • Well, first tjings first. Limewire is illegal!

  • I was in junior high when I listened to this beautiful song. It is so nice to hear it again, the exact way I remember it. My parents knew it from the forties along with many others that were in my time -- the sixties.

  • One of the ALL TIME GREATEST doo wop oldies...Beautiful!!!

  • Great song. What an era!

  • A great track. Thanks for that. Released in 1963 on Musicnote Label. The group is from Brooklyn and released about ten records in the period 1960 to 1965. A quartette, lead singer is Emil Stucco

  • Comment removed

  • @possumnumi Emile Stucchio..South Brooklyn, President St & 6th Ave..Everyone sang in street corners. The Catholics sang in Latin in Church..The Baptists sang Gospel in theirs..& everyone brought that Church Music to the streets & thus Rock & Roll bloomed.. I was part of "The Classics" Fan Club..Mary, Maria, MaryAnn& Me..Maria, Chico's sister. Ciao, Adios ByeBye.

  • when did this come out?

  • Not 100% sure, but a good guess would be about 1960

  • @m1garand427 this is the best version ever.

  • 1st charted on Billboard 6/22/1963

  • @hacktik101 1963 believe it or not, I bought the 45. One of the last oldies that had that sound.
