@SVTJAVY You know, if I wouldn't have spun a rod bearing in the motor, i wouldn't have changed a thing in the car, they are amazing, the power, the sound, hell yes i'd buy them again if i had to do it all over again... So you want to buy them since they are coming out and my stage 3 blower cams are going in?
@Spec4Garza well technically all 4 are chain driven.... just the main chain that runs down to the crank , and then the intake and exhaust cams are tied together with a chain as well. but yes I did the FR500 kit, which is the intake and exhaust cams, as well as the followers, but I left the stock valves and stock valve springs in the car
@Viking445 nah man i havent had any issues with the stock valves or springs with these cams, however after having spent all the money to get it where it is, i'd rather have something that lopes like a full out drag car and a little less power, i'm not about making a sleeper, right now shes getting the boss 5.0 modular ford racing block, 9.2:1 compression, tubular K-member, 03 cobra timing cover and a 2.3KB with a return style fuel system. should be pretty sweet in about july when its finished
@Viking445 Well I beat on the car fairly regularly and I ended up grenading 3rd gear, then a month later spinning a crank or rod bearing... we'll see what actually happened when the machine shop gets it all torn apart. i'm shooting for about 550 to the wheels, but with the 2.3 spun up to about 22lbs and some race fuel it can push 650 or so to the tires. We'll see how fiesty I get when its all together, and you can bet i'll have a few videos up when i get er dun.
@centersnare86 Oh damn that sucks. Gotta pay to play though. Is there a difference between the Mach 1 Tranny and the 03-04 Cobra unit? Aside from the clutch that is?

My parents have never handed me anything. I've paid for every car, all the insurance, every cell phone... all by working hard for it. Thanks for that asshole assumption though
This might sound dumb, but what effect do new/upgraded cams have besides sound? I am new to modding mustangs, and I'm also a girl, so I don't know much about cars, but looking to learn!! Also, what do the long-tube headers do? Thanks =)
@stangdancenrob That's not 100% true about cams being useless on a non-heavily modded car. Cams determine your power-band, they're not a power adder, and they should be chosen depending on how your engine is setup. Choosing the wrong cam/cams for your setup will not provide gains you may be looking for. They're integral to the whole machine working efficiently. The gains from headers depends on A LOT of things and it's incorrect to assume 25hp gain.
@89krysie Cams determine what your power band is. Usually a cam swap causes a small loss down low (unless it's a really radical made for 100% racing set which will cause a large low end loss) to gain more up high and to be able to rev the engine higher (with other supporting mods of course). But, cams are just one piece of the puzzle. They should be chosen based on what you want out of the car and how your engine is built or will be built.
@89krysie Headers allow the engine to "breathe" out more effectively by increasing scavenging, which is sucking the air out of the combustion chamber to quickly get rid of the exhaust and help pull more air/fuel in. Kinda like putting a vacuum cleaner on it. ;) Long tube headers are the best for this but can be illegal on a street car depending on where you live.
@mell00ut5 Yeah I need to get a new video up with the Borla Stinger exhaust I have on there now. I've heard other FR500 setups and they all sound fairly similar to mine. check out crower cams, they make a good stage 2 four valve set.
@Redhawk4109 actually the motor is broken right now... I spun a main bearing or a rod bearing or something, I dunno, i pulled the motor a couple weekends ago and its at the machine shop now getting torn apart so I can have an idea what went wrong

They are pretty much a waste of money unless you have a heavily modded car. Headers will give you a 25 horse gain.
