Sadly ,after 30 years the boat captain has come forward to admit he lied to police re the incident on the boat on Nov 29, 1981. I have been around sailboats and large boats my entire life and never heard of anyone accidently falling overboard. Water temps of 51 degrees ( Nov avg) without a wet suit will overtake a weak swimmer in two minutes.

I was browsing a book at Barnes and Noble called Hollywood Hellraisers and Dennis Hopper said that when he went to pick up Natalie Wood one night she was at Nicholas Ray's house, She was 16 at the time. Maybe that's why she got the job.

She was going out with Dennis Hopper, that's why he was put in the background of the film when Nick Ray found out, as he was having an romance with her too and that she'd tried it on with Jimmy but he thought she was too young so wasn't interested.

Again, good for her but I didn't think she was so forward, she seems really shy?

That's according to the well-reviewed book "Live Fast, Die Young" about the making of "Rebel Without A Cause" that came out last year. Plus, other Wood biographies back up the stories about her mother, who would do anything, or would make her daughter do anything to further her career...
