@brightbite And this is a love story that no one will forget. Even through all of their tribulations, they still remained friends. I think they both still truly loved each other, they just couldn't be married to each other, and that's okay because some people are like that. Cher's eulogy at Sonny's funeral will always be in my memory, because she let her guard down so much and you could honestly tell that she was speaking from her heart.

Here is something interesting, Sonny Bono died on my 11th birthday. I had never even heard of him until his death. I remember the networks, especially CBS, kept showing clips from The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour. When this movie aired, I recorded on a VHS tape. I have since lost that tape, and I was so excited when I found the DVD that I just had to share it, because I know how rare it is. Thank you everyone for the comments!

@jamesbabyar This movie was made in 1999, and it aired the same year on ABC. I do not know if Cher made any comments on the movie, but I do know that Sonny's widow, Mary, was a Co-Producer.

@clickster010587 Cher actually did a special of her own around this same time called "Sonny and Me: Cher Remembers". I always got the feeling she did it because she did not care for the depiction of S&C in this biopic.
