Dolphin emulation of Super Paper Mario distables: the graphics of the enemies in the first cutscene where bowser talks to his minions (inviseble); the sorrounding 8 Mario power-up Mario graphics (inviseble), maybe something more too. Is there a way to fix it, I don't know, I'm trying to figure it out right now.

@BRiTDRAG2 Not entirely. I would like to add that some emulators have special tools that let you do "God-like" speed-runs. Also know as TAS. Like you said before, it's also a nice way to record footage without buying a 100 dollar recording device or a recording device that will leave you pulling you hair out in an attempt to get it to work.

Not only that, you can also use emulators to use controls that one may be more comfortable with.

Also, the video quality usually looks better on an emulator. For example, Dolphin can games (Both Wii AND Gamecube) in 1080p. This is great for those who love their HD, as the Wii doesn't support 1080 from my knowledge and according to the official website.

@Dlive1845 It is in fact possible however only certain games can truly work with this controller. Obviously you cannot have perfect precision and movement like a wii mote so games that require it usually means using your mouse....unless it's like this game for the most part.

I am trying to emulator Dolphin 2.0 on Windows 7, infact i've tried other builds as well from 3000 etc. and I keep getting these two error messages:

1) "Can't init any PAD Plugins"

2) "Couldn't init the core"

for all of you having a problem getting your wii remote to work buy a wifi bluetooth toggle there like 6 dollars or less on ebay. plug it in and press some buttons till it picks it up. Also probably need a usb sensor bar or else youll be eating the batteries up mine is made by pelican. roughly a 1400$ pc can play this.

which is just fine for most games anyway, just dont emulate anything that needs a wii mode, and the mouse will get you thru any menus

Who said he doesn't own a Wii? The benefits of emulators go beyond not having to own a console; that's rarely the reason to use an emulator. Emulators open up the game to examination and graphics ripping, TASing and sometimes netplay where there'd be no netplay (although that point is becoming more and more moot with wifi enabled consoles.)

Plus, with region blocking, a good emulator could be a godsend. A lot of great games won't come in all regions. Plus, emulator development is educational.

Assuming you're talking about Freeloader and Backup Launcher, then yes. I have both of them working on my Wii. Nonetheless, for casual players, getting stuff like this working is perhaps a bit much, whereas Dolphin runs pretty much out of the box on a good computer.

I disagree.. Many emulator enthusiasts have the consoles they're emulating... It'd be different if you were talking about something like DS emulation, where anyone can easily get the emulator and ROMs working well on most computers, but when it takes such effort and computing power, and still is imperfect, I don't think as many people are using the emulator for lack of a console.

I think many underestimate the number of people who are interested in emulators and not just the games...
