  • Great to hear this again, Dan! Congratulations...I can't wait to hear more of your music performed and interpreted by other talented musicians (and maybe conductors?)!

  • I'm sure that this is a very beautiful piece, but my stubborn ears still can't get past the tuning, and I've listened to it 3 times now. :(

I really hope "the masses" do learn to appreciate microtonal, but it just doesn't seem likely.

2:40 - 3:20 is my favorite part. The whole piece is very well preformed, and very well written. Kudos to all!

  • I've heard it said this is exactly why "the masses" might appreciate microtonality; their ears haven't been carefully attuned to 12TET by musical training.

  • I do hear some Ives-ishness about your piece. I've been listening to Alois Hába's "Mother" a quarter-tone opera lately and other works by him. Microtonal music can be composed in an interesting way, but will be for the forseeable future quite strange to the masses of inexperienced ears. Luckily those masses are not 100% of humanity! Keep up the exploration.

  • brilliant, hilarious, elegant and beautiful piece.

please let me know about any recordings or performances of your work.

  • Congrats, Dan!

  • Bravo!

  • BEAUTIFUL AS ONLY STEARNS CAN DO.
