The only thing that saved Robin from being swallowed is that his wrists were still chained to the wall while he was inside. Otherwise, the clam would've made short work of him.

I LOVE the Joker here. Showing up with his affable gang of goons and cackling with glee at his henchman's joke. I like that other writers have explored this character and reinterpreted him as an utterly monstrous psychopath, but I miss the Clown Prince of Crime version as well.

True story: When I was 7, this show was on our local station. My kid brother & I watched religiously, until he got a bit carried away with his play-acting as Batman, jumping off of things, etc., frequently risking his little life and limb.

As a result, we were grounded from the show. When our grounding expired, the show was no longer airing.

The last episode I ever saw was Joker's Hard Times.

Now, almost 20 years later, I FINALLY know how Robin got away from that clam. Thx for posting!

Seems TV Guide edited out a little bit where Venus moons over Batman after the rescue.

Also a bit where Uranus tells Joker they're gone and he laughs that "the clam made a good meal out of them" but Mercury points out the clam couldn't have eaten the Batmobile too.

Man, wish Fox and Warner Bros could settle their issues and put this series on DVD with Adam West commentaries.
