The motorcycle is loud. It is hard to hear someone talking, even if that person is police.

If he lifted his hands up, the motorcycle may have tilted over.

You don't fire a weapon to protect yourself unless you see a threat. 'Might have had' just don't cut it.

Shooting someone in the back is wrong on all accounts.

The man on the motorcycle was blatantly ignoring his commands. He was acting as if he could have had a weapon. The policeman had a reasonable suspicion that he had a weapon by his actions. If I were the biker, my hands would have both been in plain sight and I would have listened to what he wanted me to do. I would not have put suspicion in his mind that I had a deadly weapon and was preparing to use it. I think the guy deserved to be shot. His actions caused it.

These guys were cruising around on motorcycles in the middle of nowhere, amirite? Where is the true crime in that to begin with? Second, the sirens are on at the time of the stop and probably the man who stopped couldn't even hear the officer's instruction. I have learned to treat police with a mixture of fear and respect, and the man who was stopped didn't seem to realize he had someone pointing a gun with a hair trigger at his back.Always be sure your hands are visible to the cop.

It sure looks like the Cop was a complete macho man, and that the victim did nothing wrong. Good thing there was a camera! It's hard to know what the cop was actually thinking.

I can guarantee you one thing -- if there was no camera, you would NEVER get the cop to admit the victim did nothing threatening. Even WITH the camera, he insanely tries to say the cop was justified in feeling threatened.

The judge should put the attorney in jail for an indefinite period of time for trying to justify injustice. The cop should be placed in the same prison facility and with the cop killers. In that situation the lights in your face, the siren was still going, how could Michael hear or see the officer? He saw his buddy driving around the other car. That would have caught my attention. When the White came into view, Michael is turning to acknowledge the officer. Typical of OHPD to follow someone all the way through the village waiting for a reason. I don't know how many times I avoided Bancroft coming from UT even when I lived just past the tracks in the 4500 block.

Tough situation. Guys take off, fleeing why? Officer has to take an aggressive stance at this point once they stop and the guy does turn and his arm is in a position that could indicate someone pulling a gun. Now it was not a blatant move for a weapon but an officer coming up with a gun drawn after a suspect flees in that manner might have seen it differently than we see it on the video. hindsight is always 20/20 but put yourself in the officer's place that night. Tough case either way.

In reality, Michael turned his body to listen to the cop and his arm (hanging down) followed the movement and turn of his body. Wouldn't you turn to listen if someone was yelling at you?
