ZR1s reach the performance of mid range Porsches. Only Porsches arent in the 6.2 litre bracket. They get their performance out of superiour technology and alot more modest engines. So why compare them.

Americans love to brag about their faked Nurburgring lap times but Porsche went a full minute quicker in 1983. Speed is cheap. Its style, handling and technology thats new and expensive. Comparing a car costing 1.2 million to one costing around 110 grand is ridiculous, yet the Vette is equally fast. How much better could the ZR1 be if Chevrolet sold it for $250,000? Bigger engine..more horsepower..all wheel drive? The resulting car would a monster that the SLR could only see from the rear as the Vette passed it. The SLR is grossly overpriced. Rich people line up for these cars because they know they are getting proper stuff. There are around 50-60 European currently available supercars and many of them are sold to american customers. German car - Porsche 911 turbo, BUT! it costs 130k, however for difference in 20k you get super luxorious interior and a huge choice in customisation your car, for example 12 standart and 5 special exterior colours instead of 5 and 3 in chevy, and 12 interior colours instead of 4. Other cool features comes for additional price:)

@PendallF The ZR1 is produced in 8 exterior colors & 4 interior colors. Furthermore, things like dual zone auto climate control air conditioning, keyless entry, power windows, leather seats & a Bose sound system are all standard equipment.
Exterior colors:
Arctic White, Torch Red, Black, Velocity Yellow Tintcoat, Blade Silver Metallic,
Jetstream Blue Metallic Tintcoat, Cyber Gray Metallic & Crystal Red Metallic Tintcoat.
Interior colors:
Titanium Gray, Red, Cashmere, Ebony.

Speed is nothing new. They did 3 times the Veyrons top speed at Bonneville in the 60s. My father has a 1964 7.3 litre Chrysler with the same performance figures as a modern day ACR10 Viper. Americans love to brag about their faked Nurburgring lap times but Porsche went a full minute quicker in 1983. Speed is cheap. Its style, handling and technology thats new and expensive. And thats exactly where americans are miles behind. The entire list of american sportscar is... Corvette and.. thats it.

As a chevy fan, there is one thing you have to understand. The Corvette does one thing well and one thing only. Goes fast. German cars are priced high because they are well engineered. It's ok for a ZR1 to beat a supercar (That was made for it's price tag) but if a ZR1 gets owned by a supercar (Which is no surprise) "Oh that 's because it suppose to,but the ZR1 is still the better bang for your buck." Logically any car can be fast if you have money I can get a 1000HP supra or mustang and reck the ZR1 for less than half the price but you know what. Price tags don't win races!
