  • Anyone happen to know what this clip is originally from?

  • el mejor remedio para el extres es clasica

  • Totally brilliant!!!!

  • Riding down the valley on my good horse Blondie with the sunset behind me...

  • Thanks so much. Love your channel AND The Shadows! This is a keeper!

  • ThankQ tar (Capatcha = barconinge) second capacha = equings third capacha = ersickni

  • What a perfect start to the 1960's? I remember listening to this over and over as an 8y/o on my big sisters borrowed Dansette in 1960, a kinda melancholy memory now...

  • Nice to hear this classic & see cool video. This is still being featured & done up right by touring guitar bands: YouTube (Apache Thackery) (the 1 with nearly 10,000 viewings).

  • 2:36 Very painful to watch that now, knowing that Jet Harris died of throat cancer.

  • On this date in 1961 {Jan. 23rd} 'Apache' by Jorgen Ingmann entered the U.S.A. Billboard's Top 100 chart; eventually it peaked at No. 2 {for 2 weeks} and spent 17 total weeks in the Top 100. The Shadows version never charted in the U.S.A.; for me it's a toss up; both version are excellent!!!

  • En media hora me aprendí a tocar este gran clásico =D

  • 152 miss clickers :D this is too cool

  • how play this song in guitar whit the same efect??? i want to know waht is the efecct that the shadows used for this kind of song, please tell me

  • @Faustcab the effects used on this tune are Reverb (from the amp) and a bit of "whammy bar" - and a lot of treble.

  • @Faustcab They used a lot of spring reverb plus the whammy bar on the guitar. The Ventures used reverb with some tape echo also.

  • thumbs up if you can play this with guitar :)

  • @stattelsson chuck norris can play this on the triangle

  • @stattelsson

thumbs up if you can play this with your penis

  • @Bestboytoo

    Get a grip.

  • Oh for the days when guys could play guitars and sing in tune and you could hear and understand what they were saying.

And there was none of this crapola techno angst that passes for 'music' these days.

What a poverty and a farce of 'talent' that is flogged to us now.

  • @Bestboytoo You can still find good rock n' roll bands if you use the internet.

  • 152 people were scalped

  • heard it many years ago once and it is all still there inside my head - etched - i just cant get it out of my head -

  • I first heard this in a shop with my old man in 1964 when i was a kid in bristol UK.cool tune.

  • Still good!

  • My username is just awesome

  • 2 words. Higher Music. God, I just cant get my timing right!

  • I keep expecting to see Clint Eastwood in this vidio.

  • @jtjjbannie you could use the youtube video editor and make a mix of this tune with Clint

  • I've not long turned 20, this was out before i was born but how can we have gone from such cool music like this to the shit of today??

  • @kierang06

I passed 20 many, many years ago, but we seem to think along the same lines. Makes me smile to hear that from someone your age. Think the bands of today are still trying to find something that makes them special. Don't think a face shot with a nail gun, grabbing their crotch and trying to shock people is going to do it. Talent might. i.e. Shadows, Ventures, etc..

  • @kierang06

    Aww its easy really

  • I've listening the Shadows more 30 yrs

  • what a play makes me nostalgic and sad at my early 60s

  • the bassplayer plays it cool hahaha

  • Very... Very beautiful... No comment for this one.. Brilliant song, you guys...

  • do they have a facebook page? they too good

  • This was played for my Grandfather's funeral, amazing song, R.I.P Granddad xo

  • We have a Telecaster

  • Hank B Marvin, Marvelous, should be rated the best guitarist in the world.

  • Absolutely Fantastic!!! I still love it after all these years :o) And I agree - it should be dedicated to the true people of America!

  • This instrumental should be dedicated to the brave ,noble & proud ,original Americans, who got slaughtered in the name of progress, & arrogant white supremacy....

  • @ironbark1100 also for the brave indians who fought against british rule both violently and non-violently...

  • @shaurya23rajput Didn't know they had Apaches in india....

  • Timeless instrumental

  • stupenda♥♥♥

  • 149 dislikes? What the heck? I can't believe some people. This is such a freakin' classic...

  • Hank Marvin was unbelievable years ahead of his time influenced Hendrix, Clapton, Dylan every top guitarist of the 20th century.

  • The last guy looks so cool, he could make smoking stylish again. Ha ha

  • Genial very good song...

  • 149 thumbs down? Zozzoni!

  • Would there have ever been Hip Hop without this song? Probably, but it wouldn't have been the same.

  • @sighedeffects tonto, jump on it!

  • r.i.p. i love you guys

  • this would be sooo epic on guitar hero..

  • 47 anni fa si ballava anche questa tipo twist

  • HANK LOOKS LIKE BUDDY HOLLY ON THIS..

  • I know i love Beach Boys and shadows music! THANK YOU FENDER FOR THE SIXTY THREE REVERB UNIT!

  • All those dislikes must be gen., Y's no thought controll, nothing between there ears but SH----t

  • @Hecling Yea...those people with their opinions...nothing between their ears...because they don't like exactly what you like. I don't follow the logic.

  • thumbs up if u cried of the top comment - i respect you :)

  • I saw Cliff and the Shads in concert about 18 months ago and the Shads played this. I expected them to butcher it with a "re-imagining" but they made it sound just the same and just as fantastic as the original. Now that is talent.

  • Makes me proud to have a Stratocaster

  • @lGabrielSDlznyl I wish I had a Stratocaster!

  • im getting a electro harmonix holy grail reverb pedal because of this song!

  • BEST OF BRITISH.

  • nekad beše....sjajno

  • for all time...

  • jlogmcl: that is really lovely. Whenever I hear this I imagine a young brave riding along the ridge on a pinto. IT was the first instrumentaI bought at the age of 11.and have loved the Shadows ever since.

  • just noticed at the end jet harris lights up his fag while bruce and hank finish up legend haha

  • sin palabras, solo ver y oir

  • Is there anyone out there who could put The Shad's doing a tune called 'Peacepipe' onto YouTube. I think it featured in the film The Young One's with Cliff Richard. It was just used as background music while the characters were trying to tidy up an old forgotten cinema to use for a gig. As the title suggests, it is very peaceful - slow and listenable to...well I always thought so.

  • Beautifull song!

Sorry i am italian, non parlo inglese.

E' stupenda e già nel 60 erano avanti. Mitici Shadows!

  • @zionuccio555 fa niente che la bellezza parla per se!

  • wish i wasnt born in 96' woulda rathered 45 years ago

  • @sammykicksass1 why?

  • @2Crystalight better music mate

  • @sammykicksass1 sounds better now than what it did when it first came out

  • I listen to music from the 40's, mainly to the 70's most of the time, and this is really my favourite era of music, but I'm shocked to say I have never heard this song, or of this band.

  • You guys ALL know that The Shadows are the Fucking Coolest !

Should be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame !

  • @DCLAURIE

    they aren't already?

I mean just look at them-they simply do not care about image, just playing and enjoying it.

And in the process of it they deliver one of the greatest tunes of all times..ahh i guess music was better before..

  • @DCLAURIE They're in my rock and roll hall of fame, and that's all that matters. That thing in Cleveland is rubbish.

  • @DCLAURIE Interesting . We all know the R-n-R Hall of Fame only seems to induct acts based on sales. The Shadows sold MANY records, but they are just too obscure for us dumb Americans. This dumb American though is a Shadows fan and I agree with you.

  • @DCLAURIE

The original Shadows. Jet Harris y Tony Mehan. ¡¡¡Fantastico!!!

    Thanks a lot.

  • brilliant just fantastic

  • My Grandma has had lunch with Hank Marvin

  • Hank is a god amongst men, makes the stratie sound so incredible.

Thanks to Cliff Richard for this band

  • simply amazing ..

  • Damn, Hank Marvin's tone and touch is beautiful!

  • we usually play in our band few of the shadows great instrumental at a party because even those youngters likes these type of intertaining musics. i wish to have this musics in which the sound of the lead beimg muted so that i can play the lead along,i mean something like the'minus one' format.

  • love song....

  • Just great .. Love it

  • David Gilmour from Pink Floyd said that "The Shadows" was his major influence... I understand why now :)

  • @MrLufillo Not to mention a kickass, yet subtley atmopheric drummer backing them. Ahh, this is a good dose of medicine every now and then.

  • The purest form of rck their is.

  • love this song!!!!

  • @MrLufillo But they used the the latest technology of their day. Hank Marvin had the first Stratocaster in the UK. He also had the cutting edge Meazzi Echomatic, which was a very advanced piece of musical audio gear at the time. That's what gives the reverb on this track for the lead guitar. The band was also involved with VOX in the development of the AC-30 amp.

  • He's smoking ! should go to jail !

    *JOKE* !

  • @baretous Thats OK. It was good for you back then.

  • My Grandma Had Lunch with Hank Marvin

  • Best INSTRUMENTAL ever !! Can you get any better than this?? If any one does knows , let me know.

  • @Koldobika8A

Well, in those years The Cream were performing and recording "Fresh Cream" , "Disraeli Gears"... And J Hendrickx was also well known by then

  • @Koldobika8A

Spoonful perfeormed by Crea, or Dark Star, by Grateful Dead

  • @Koldobika8A you cannot be far wrong. Have you heard Beck's Bolero by the Jeff Beck band? That has to be a contender! Give it a go. If you like this...

  • @mog505 Becks Bolero obviously influenced by this but goes beyond this. Early forerunner to Zep sound

  • This is GREAT music!!! I LOVE IT and will listen to it until i die!!!

  • Cette musique est incroyable ! Je voyage !

  • Friends of The Shadows in canal Mucholap0941

  • onvergetelyke muziek

  • The original and the best ever version of Apache!

  • trop bon le son

  • Most perfect instrumental song ever!!!!

  • Without this original version, the Sugarhill Gang would not have made their version of " Apache'-Get On It"

  • ey I am always in the mood for some fun and I never say NO

  • people just love this song in my country

  • 144 dislikes ?.

It just goes to show how many have escaped from the asylum.

  • I played this in a band in the sixties. We did WMCs for a year playing just Shadows' instrumentals and Ventures instrumentals.

  • Just great !!!!!!

  • When I was ten years old , I liked this song

  • My grandfather used to love this song. His last wish when he was lying on the bed, dying from cancer, was that this song should be played at his funeral.

We honored his wish. I remember the beautiful tones pouring through the church and how I had to shed tears from all the memories this song gave me..

I hope you will rest in peace my dear grandfather. You were always there to guide me and inspire me..

  • @jlogmcl liar

  • @jlogmcl Rest In Peace Mate!

  • I'm guessing the dislikes come from those folks who have never heard guitars without tons of effects or power chords. This was recorded in a time when "electric instruments" were in their infancy. Groups like the Shadows and songs like Appache laid the ground work for much of today's music. Imagine what music would be like if instruments only backed up vocals?

  • the dislikes are probably cause of the vid. I mean, the (video) quality is really bad, but the song is great and thats what matters

  • the finest tune during my time and its still today@25\09 \2011!!!!!!!!!!

  • 144 dislike?? What the world is coming to???

  • My father played this sound when he was young, whit a bended knee as this guy.

  • does anyone know the orginal album of the shadows apache came from??

  • @MrLufillo I agree with you, I believe if one asked some of todays musicians to play this type of music today they couldn't do it!!!

  • @28211145 likewise you could ask musicians from their era to play it as well....and they wouldn't be able either ....don't get dragged along like a sheep with the rest of youtube when it comes to music...there are lots of people out there writing and playing very good original music....you need to look further than radio one. likewise there were as many people writing and miming to rubbish back then as there is now...although the sad sixties brigade will have us think otherwise.

  • - -*

  • RIGHTEOUS BRAH!!

  • This is such a great bit of music!

  • A fantastic song by Brit boys about the last

of the American Indians to surrender.

    I love it

  • Thanks for the info on the Shadows. Apache... what a great piece of music

  • @ss2k10 justin bieber fans are to ill minded to know this work of art exists

  • Scroll up! You're missing the video!

  • Scroll up! You're missing the video!

  • Who would have thought that one of the greatest Surf Tunes of all time would have originated from a British so much on the cusp of the '60's that they look more like a a '50's band. Great tune, great performance.... hail to the '60's and the British invasion.

  • @56Daut

the shaddows were around since '58 but they were known as the driffters. but bruce welch and hank marvin were playing toget
