  • This vid is popular on Concord

  • Unusual comments about this video once again.

  • great comments and all, but i get the feeling you guys don't know who kutiman is. he's a musician, composer, producer and animator from israel, who was even personally sent material by maroon 5 so they could see what he'd do with it. time magazine named this 'youtube album' one of the 50 best inventions of 2009. i know it appears to be the typical youtube messin' around video-chop kinda thing, but this guy is obviously in a league of his own. just thought everybody should know (and respect).

  • Simply brilliant!

  • Heck - this is amazing. This is what the internet is for - bringing people together from all over and creating amazing, inspiring new things!

  • Hottest lick at 3:01!

  • Where can I get some of "Roland SH-1000 Synthesizer for sale on ebay"'s albums? They're awesome! :P

  • This is genius...are you releasing anything on iTunes? You should dude..Keep it lit.

  • 18 dislikes? 18 people without a clue more like. Skills!!

  • This is absolutely my favourite one! But love all your stuff!!

I follow ur videos since a while and I should tell you: great job!

  • Just cut them up like regular chickens :)

  • It would be cool if you could somehow put the names (or usernames) of the people performing up while they are singing/playing. Excellent form of collaboration!

  • this one is my favourite

    love it

  • @kukurica225 This is my favorite too

  • I dig this. Excellent!

  • <333333333333333333333333333333333333333

  • woow

  • what shines through is the magic part: the humanity

  • I still laugh when I see my trouble light in this - - and yet what was something silly and fun becomes mysterious and dark. Just goes to show what great editing can do. Genius stuff. Truly.

  • you capture "us" - as we are individually, and how we would be honoured to be as a band making music. The seclusion and isolation of solo YouTube-ing is gone when you go to work. That is huge.

  • it wasn't so good as other your projects! but still you are the most amazing musician in the world! probably should win Americas talent, but it's not so respectful as your works!

  • Absolutely superb stuff! Love it!

  • An amazing way of uniting people through music, universal language. Love the mama singing!

  • even though she maybe taken...I find i get a funny feeling in my pants...ok that maybe a bit piggish but hey she is gorgious.

  • I really have to say Im so impressed... I heard this song and It has been sticked to me for days!!! You're just awesome and I say hooray...great job...AWESOOOME!

  • ok this is prolly my fave outta the thruYou's.

  • I find it hard to have a favorite of all of them 0.0

  • Genial trabajo !!!

Y gracias, muchas gracias por compartirlo con el mundo !!

    Saludooos

  • zaraedemais1 : Agreed. It is genius!! IMHO, next level creativity. Taking bits and pieces from the seemingly infinite stuff on YouTube, and putting them together into a unique, free-standing, and GOOD creation....nice!!!

  • My god... you are genius... people dont realize how much inspiration you need to create something like this. Its not their fault tho, they prob work 9-5 and take the same route everyday to work. Please .... please.... please.... give us some more!!

  • i work 9- well past 5, wear a suit and tie everday but recognise this is FUCKING AMAZING!

Please don't judge us, suits might not look like you, but we might well be bumping the same shit on the bus ;)

  • Cool......more please!

  • you are genius to envision this

  • SKBane Tek... you are apparently a dick and also pretty freekin blind .

    rock on loser

  • Visionary Genius

  • Ugly? Not true!

  • my guess: he rips the videos from youtube with a youtube ripper and then load them into a video editor and arranges the music in it

  • fantastic, my fave for sure. thanks so much for doing this kutiman and all artists 'involved'

  • brilliant

  • The only thing thats wrong with this is that we'll never get to see it performed as a live act, but at least we have this 8^D Awesome stuff! Love this womans voice, and the music is paired perfectly IMHO.

  • Makes me happy :) Gives multicultural a whole new and beautiful dimension, as I see it...

    thanks!

  • Love the cameo appearance of JonnyMcBoingBoing @ 0:48

  • This is exactly what I'm trying to get into. Right now I sample Mp3's off of youtube.

What video program did you use to produce this?

  • this is incredibly good

  • my favourite!

  • Great Job!

    EPIC!

  • look in the info the instrument is called the jews harp

  • MIAŻDZY!!! EKSELLENT!! 2:58 ;]

Tried to send you right now more stuff for your project in Spain but the page ain´t working man... downer hoped you could get me some free txts! he-he-he...all the best.

  • Real Genius

  • This is GREAT! blow up my sick brain. Respect. I like this singer too.... Kutiman - the best!

  • It so good! So nice! Kutiman is a genius!

  • I just discovered this today! I've wanted to find something like this that uses stop-motion mash-up like this for over a YEAR!

  • i had a same experiance this guy is just epic. Kutiman FTW

  • Right on!

  • I just love these videos.

  • awesome, nice song,

  • Outstanding! You have a real gift in taking bits of music and vocals and using them to create audio art in the same way an artist uses paint on a palette in order to create a painting. It's also impressive to see the various clips you've pulled for in order to create your videos. And Attribution is always nice. Fantastic work. :c)

  • I just love this! I also love that look between mother and son :) wonderful!

  • it's a great idea and it's perfectly implemented. Great. Many thanks!!!

  • This just blows my mind. amazing job dude!

  • well done! inspiring to watch and listen to.

  • Incredible - but as much a visual creation as a sonic one. Your choice of when to cut to whom isn't motivated by who's playing necessarily but by what makes the best visual pattern in juxtaposition with the music. Very wonderful.

  • Another great one.

  • fuckin' amazing, left me breathless and amaze, just genious, I love that girl singing, bosanova bit is cool... You have made great job, really!

  • The bossa nova riff throughout this song gives it a great feel, and the singer's voice-Husky and velvety all at once.. Just amazing..!

  • All your vids and music are handsdown the most inspiring stuff I have seen i years! Thank you!!

  • this is some cool vibe!

  • stunning!

    (music, voice and video)

  • מה לעשות - גם אני קראתי בהארץ ורצתי לבדוק. עכשיו גם סיפרתי לכל החברים (בפייסבוק). זה ענק!

English readers: Check out the review of Kutiman's work in today's Ha'aretz newspaper (16 April 2009).

  • thats amazing, thxxxxxx rly music.

  • This is definately my favorite one.

  • Fantastic video

  • Wow..... All I have to say is.. wow..

  • I am speechless! I can't find the words that would describe my astonishment, love, fascination, happiness, groviness, and what have you..! this is a piece of art!

  • thats no music! thats freakin art! thx 4 sharing!

  • Watch No 8 and you'll see.

  • All random clips check out the more info in the top right he links to each one.

  • have you ever thought about to make an album with this songs?

    that would be absolutely amazing!

  • i would buy one. :)

  • I can't imagine a second the law and rights issues...

  • you loose copyright on anything as soon as you put it on youtube. Read the users agreement.

  • No you do not "loose" copyright, but you grant a right to youtube to use your material.(what you posted on youtube)

You can still sell your copyrights, release an album and be paid with copyrights royalties. But you will not earn anything from people wathcing your videos on Youtube.

I think also that youtube could re-sell your material (VoD, DVDs for instance) without having to pay any royalties to you.

  • In the case of this song, since it is not complete on youtube, I guess that if it was actualy released by its author on a CD or DVD (or paid downloaded video or mp3...), competition from youtube would not be a real risk !

  • Master Pieces

  • the roland sh101 is featured a lot :P

  • Endtroducing The 2009 version.

  • Awesome!!!

  • Lucy baby! Babies that grow up around music are magic.

  • wow!

    this is future art

  • Exactly, Mcbublick. This is an entirely new musical art form. And it's friggi' incredible.

Now, kutiman: what can you do with loud raucous git-fiddles and all the usual accoutrements? You know: rocou out with your c*** out and all that.

  • It's not an entirely new art form. It is great...

Look up Emergency Broadcast Network, DJ Shadow, Go Home Productions....

  • Future Sound of London, Fatboy Slim...etc...

  • its not ENTIRELY new. its Remix. A sound colage.

The new thing about it is that its youtube videos from people all over the globe. and thats pretty much taking it one step further.

  • Verily, I concur. Art form new it is not, but if not innovative then what?

  • haha "entirely new" not quite. Ironic utterance, considering its source material is all borrowed. It's musical collage. Hardly a new art form. What is new, is the nature of the source media. Rather than rely on decentralized recorded media, or obtaining audio from the "field," we now have an artistic compilation of an intentional community, YouTube. Whereas most samples of the past were not intended to be shared and recycled, here we have a new spirit of freedom and collaboration

  • if you put it like that nothing is new.....=S

  • nothing is entirely new. most of us act as creative lens of expression. and that's cool. just as long as we try to give props where they're due. can't give credit to every inspiration, but at least we gotta be humble, there were so many before us, and around us, who pave the way. and in this case, there are actual credits to be given!! I'm not saying it's not art, it helps us to hear and see things in a new way. But "entirely new?" No one inhabits their own universe.

  • more that nothing is new, we have a basic elements and we mix each one to create complex one, then if we mix that elements, we have diferent ones, and all were created in the begining by a basic one...

  • simply amazing.

  • This is hot shit. Right now. In my ears. Hot shit.

  • Can i download this somehow? Is the woman singing her own song?

  • Kutiman, you have created a new genre. Genius

  • I think this is beyond genre - a new Art form for our generation.

  • Amazing so inventive and really good to listen to well done love it!

  • your work is extraordinary! amazing. keep it up!

  • insane. you have a great taste for instruments too

  • ...

  • you are the music choreographer for visual sometimes flighty sometimes obscure but always interesting

  • The mother and child freaked me out -- and that's a GOOD thing ;)

  • Magical...kudos..!!

  • i love when the baby looks up. great job!

  • I'm a 60 year old blues dude who thinks this is not just excellent music, but an art form at the same time. Impressive.

  • it brings me back into the 60s

  • HAH NICE

  • it's a great moment, having heard what i guessed would be some wannabe diva, only to have it cut away to a mother and baby.

little moments that destroy stereotypes. much love.

  • YAY my friend Sarah is in it!!! great job

    -OlgaKay

  • BRAVO!!!!

  • para que aprendan !!!!!

  • kutiman - do you make your own music too? i would assume you do. if so, i would like to hear it ;)

  • "Someday I will find my sodaa, you'll have some toooo. Someday I will find my sodaa won't happen soooon." - this is how I hear the lyrics. XD

  • "Someday I will find my sodaa, you'll have one toooo. Someday I will find my sodaa won't happen soooon." - this is how I hear the lyrics. XD

THIS is what I meant (notice: this says "one" instead of "some".)

  • THE BABY IS AWESOMELY CUTE!

  • And not JUST the baby! ;-)

  • Music is the ultimate universal language! Think about it... You feel it.(If you actually like music)

  • i like how in just one viewing everyone's talents are recognized. we have a lot of major talent in youtube that we dont see in the main page.

  • Plus you don't have to have any talent to be used. Like the Farsifa Mini Compact video, all the guy did was play every note. That gives people like me hope!

  • Amazing. When the singer is shown for the first time, I smiled. Really incredible stuff.

  • amazing! i want a cd of your works and yah the vocals are awesome!

  • sweet jeebus, this is awesome!

  • This is great -- like some of the best Jazz techno club music out there...I want a CD!

  • Create it yourself. Save the video with the Video DownloadHelper Firefox extension, then strip out the audio track using Avidemux (Wikipedia it). It takes under a minute. Then burn the tracks to a CD.

  • Actually, the easiest way is to get the Audacity sound recorder, hit Record, play the clip, and just grab the sound as it comes through your soundcard. After snipping the whitespace at the start of the track you've just recorded, you can output straight to MP3 or whateve you prefer.

  • ..or do a search and download them all..

  • This has to be my favourite out of these videos, I just love the beat and that vocalist!

  • Totally Sweet.

  • I love all of these. They make me feel like there's a huge music that we're all part of. Great work!

    JMP, Dallas

  • amazing.. I saw several and all had this 'wow' effect.

    spread the word !

  • amazing! one of the best things i've seen on the internet. go on like this, genius.

  • How can this only have 12k views?

Peace and love to you Kutiman

  • Wished that I could play, the piano like that.

  • reminds me of sneaker pimps

  • Slacktive salutations!

  • i want this on an album!!
