  • This song was pretty bad. Really. And I LOVE Sinead and Gabriel.

  • Wonderful song. It sounds complex, but when you read the lyrics its sooo simple to understand. I remember hearing this on a very dark day in my life nearly 20years ago!

  • leave it to Peter

  • Seven people have sold their souls for insurance.

  • is it me, or somthing wrong with the audio!?

  • @TheGrotesqueReality It's you

  • Excelente cancion de Peter Gabriel , ademas la voz de Sinead o Connor es bellisima ..... unos arreglos vocales hermosos .

  • Sinad was the Peter's girlfriend

  • The lucky bastard got to kiss Sinead O'Connor...

  • Thanks for the best version on youtube!

  • this music is so much more powerful than the video portrays..

  • This is real music, real talent, to all people who watch X factor and those terrible programs, you are stopping the real artists from getting into the music industry. This is how it should be, artists around for years producing brilliant songs like this. Peter is fantastic. I cannot think of a better song put together than this one and Don't Give up...

  • Life's purpose... and its enigma... Love this song inside the video :-)

  • Ho voglia di piangere per la bellezza di questo brano ....trascende l' anima.

    Roberto da Mantova.

  • I first heard this song a few days ago and almost cried at my relation to it. I've never been so moved by a song before. I had it on replay for over 3 straight hours then sporadically over another 15 hours without listening to even one other song...

  • I wish you eternal life! I arrived at the Vatican! You have been given to participate in the biggest show in human history, the resurrection! They hide, distort and change my posts so as not to see and do not understand! Google and YouTube iulian jugarean

  • I ♥ Peter Gabriel

  • This sounds different.. I like it. Is it just unremastered, a weird rip, or a special "video mix"? the third sounds most likely

  • o'connor es una niña muy bien portadita

  • he best Peter Gabriel song

  • In the 'behind the scenes' clip on the making of this video it's obvious Sinead was in love with Peter Gabriel.

  • @TheToongrrl was she desperately and crazily in love with him???

  • pure music

  • This is song is an obsession.. Amazing..

  • Ever since I found my OTHER I have realized that LIFE is perfect. Jennifer is my COMPLIMENT in every way. She is the ANSWER to my every question.

  • @EshkaronsEngine WTF IS JENNIFER,MY SON?

  • @artconva She is the most wonderful woman in the world I never thot existed. She has been the one I have searched for my entire life and having NOW found her all my rivers flow into her.

  • @EshkaronsEngine Can I meet her,please ? Just kidding,congrats for that !

  • @artconva The only thing one needs to find their JENNIFER is Faith. I knew her before I ever met her. Never give up searching... is my best advice.

  • Can you get much deeper than Peter Gabriel and his endless well of inspiration?

  • what a fascinating video !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @mcallen83 its my name? of course its my theme song..

  • "...todos venimos de un mismo sitio: todos venimos de mujer, y de hombre." --Pablo Neruda

  • SHE IS THE PERFECT IRISH WOMAN

  • And for me is THE best ever written song. Its my all times favorit. And i always getting goosbumps in the refren. Listen it LOUD and alone.

  • For me, quite possibly the best song of all time.

  • my name is eden, and this is offically my theme song <3

  • @eden5675 Funny song to pick for a theme. A song about a failed relationship.

  • @mcallen83 I just love this song. I don't need to look into the meaning of the song

  • I love the way she touches her head.

  • It was all for the union.

  • The song's got an African feel to it. It's amazing. It defines the spritual union of a man and woman, in all faiths, as I see it.

  • I (¯`v´¯) it !

  • This sounds like a slightly different mix to the album version. Any idea where it's from?

Still great though, I love this song.

  • @dotbots It is definitely different than the album version. The album version is better.

  • If you think comparing them to Justin Bieber and Ke$sha is cool, that's not good. Peter Gabriel and Sinead O' Connor are 100x cooler than them.

  • I love you Peter....I will always love you!

  • A song about sex and love and blood and death and redemption and transformation. A song about what it means to be a human, and to be apart-from.

If this song doesn't touch some place deep inside you, you're not alive.

  • @alphasimian it's a nice tune only

  • @alphasimian You mean that if it doesn't touch you ....your dead inside....

But if it touch deep inside you, and in your everyday life you're dead...what does it mean?

  • @pewploid That was a genius statement.

  • Incredible!

  • signs

  • mon prefere

  • Over many many years I've often laid and listened to this masterpiece in the pitch black of my hand-made darkness... and it leaves me speechless and consumed each time.

  • Unbelievable....unbelievable how a human can interpret our situation in such a pure, smooth, sympathetic way. I love humane for instances such as this...

  • My favourite song now!

  • this has to be one of the most passionate, heart felt songs ever written. It certainly speaks to me <3

  • to be lost and alone is simplistic. to be lonely and desolate from love is a pain undescribable. to crave rain and darkness to surpress fear and pain is a path no one should travel but many draw a map for. to risk all for light with darkness so near on the horizon is the true flaw or love and creation

  • "I think we've all been there. That's the beauty of PG at times. He just says what we already know or have learned"--Beautiful, 3daypriest, I could not have said it better.

  • It's like a beautifull dream. It's a way to step out of reality watching this.

  • i saw this concert twice, once in chicago, then in san francisco, awesome

  • 2:42 pero quien es ese chamaquillo desgraciao tan rarillo ???!!!!

  • I am uncertain as to why religion or spirituality needs to be brought up when we are each enjoying the music and presence of Sinead & Peter in the ways that we can. Supernaturalism and joy are not one and the same. The former is part of one's imagination and the latter is part of our nature. Best wishes.

  • Cool tune. And all the problems for a moment of bliss.

  • Watching this video now, you can see the love that Peter and Sinead really did have for each other. But I guess their bipolar tendencies prevented that relationship from being permanent.

  • so,they were a boyfriend and girlfriend for some time til bipolarity destroyed that beautiful relationship?????

  • @artconva from peter or sinead ?? by the way i think peter was daiting whit someone else at that time

  • That's Peter:)

  • So beautiful.

  • Daniel Lanois!!!!! What a genius ! The musical emotion he shows both in Blood of Eden and "Goodbye" with Emmylou Harris is far beyond anyone else, I've heard.

  • Stunning!

The scenes at 4:11 are absolutely breathtaking and beautiful.

(I'm an old romantic softie at heart ....LOL!)

  • so do i !!!!!

  • 'i saw the signs of my undoing, they had been there from the start'. genius.

  • I think we've all been there. That's the beauty of PG at times. He just says what we already know or have learned.

  • i was at the chicago show and the san francisco show back in 92'. it was the W.O.M.A.D. tour with sinead o'connor. very cool show!!

  • That's my little sister in the tower! She's 23 now! Beautiful song x

  • Peter and Sinead, two of the greatest singers in popular music history. Love them both, and shame it didn't work out romantically as musically I agree a match made in heaven.

  • thanx for the upload, i have always loved peter gabriel, and with sinead, well the two compliment each other..awesome passionate video

  • Those lyrics. . . transcendental, sublime, core. . . straight from the softest center. The purest poetry. Wow!! If this doesn't make a believer out of you. . . .

  • @steelyman08 A briliant reflection. Who we are. That blood runs through my veins. I am a believer. Cheers.

  • @steelyman08 it doesn't make me a believer

  • @2xtreem4u

    And. . . ? Am I supposed to feel crestfallen or snubbed? (-;

It was just a manner of speaking. If a few folks can relate to my comment in a positive way, that's great. What was it that Lincoln said about pleasing some of the people some of the time, but never all of the people all of the time?

  • A thing of great beauty. These two were meant for each other (on a creative/spiritual level).

Thanks for the crystal-clean upload (-:

  • @steelyman08 Indeed - this version has a great audio track - the best I've heard, for any song!

  • i love this song. i remember when i first saw this video. meh dad was still alive then. he used to hold meh up on his shoulder and we would dance to this.. its so sad because at his feunaral they played this song. and i remember crying and i remembered how it felt to loose ur best friend heh was the only person in the world who could understand meh. i love u dad. this is ur song

  • HollywoodUndead1131:

Sorry to hear such a thing, the only thing I can say is that humans should be 'happy' that a family member is no longer tied to the bondage of the material world (at least this is the scope of Buddhism) and when we cried those who just passed away, UNCONSCIOUSLY, we retain their ethereal being to this world.

I've decided to be solemn when my beautiful mother passes away but I will try not to cry.

  • We'll be together Again I So Believe!

  • Your comment touched me as I'm sure that it has affected others. This is what music is about! Thank you for sharing your story. It is a beautiful one.

  • Gabriel was a f....ing genius.!! Nobody makes music like this anymore

  • You mean, Gabriel IS a f....ing genius! You said 'was', like he's dead or something. Well he's not dead and he's still making music like this. :)

  • @cushlinkes hihihihihi

  • @cushlinkes hihihihihi

  • A couple of lines of lyrics from Blood of Eden sum up the song for me: "What a moment this is; Oh for a moment of forgetting, a moment of bliss."

Thank you, Peter Gabriel, for your musical integrity, for your innovation, for WOMAD, for your ability to unite people through truly wonderful and inspirational music that knows no boundaries or limitations. Long may it be so.

  • Stunning song and lyrics. Jesus she looks utterly beautiful here x

  • A wonderful song and video with 2 fantastic singers !

  • The reason you can't get insurance is that there are dinosaurs roaming your back garden. I had the same problem. That and i don't think insurance firms exist in the era you are living in. You and your woman.

  • Someone necromance Charles Fort - falling fish!!! flying snakes!!! Peter Gabriel in the charts!!! He could write another awesome textbook!

  • this song is spiritual... everything is, but this is more... i only understand reflection, in the blood of eden the woman and the man... i don't care about words... i don't need them. music, universal languaje

  • Is it just me, or would Sinead O'Connor have been attractive if she had longer hair?

  • Dream

  • sounds different than the cd... this kind of songs should be listened in it's best ways...

  • "Play" had different special mixes from the album versions

  • At my request, you take me in

In that tenderness, I am floating away

No certainty, nothing to rely on

    Holding still for a moment

    What a moment this is

Oh for a moment of forgetting, a moment of bliss

    Heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

  • This album is amazing. I could listen to it forever. lol

  • The tempo,,,singing....perfect...Peter Gabriel at his best...reminds me of GENESIS....

  • Perfect Music!!!!Perfect Music!!!!Perfect Music!!!!Perfect Music!!!!

  • what a wonderful world it's really a small world after all we just want food and shelter nothing more and nothing less

  • A beautiful song and video.

Peter Gabriel has always been one of the only true innovators in the music industry.

While others look to play it safe and stay successful, he originates something fresh. I cant think of him without thinking of Kate Bush as well who also has went against the grain but turned out pure brilliance in return.

    "Don't Give Up".

    Indeed.

  • "I cannot get insurance anymore." Is there any better description of 21st century despair?

  • i love sinead but i hate this vid :/

  • I do agree.the clip is rubbish but the song is great. We can see she really adores him,it's not just acting.

  • u must try to undrstnd the profound words of the song and the imagery presented in the video. it has a very biblical message "the darkness still has work to do" which is represented by the serpent going around in the video... what this implies is that the devil is still very much in charge of this world and until we humans learn to treat each other like true brothers things are only going to get worst... 'million unheard souls' means souls that didn't get the chance 2 b born in this world...

  • Well, you are right in terms of the biblical massage and the imagery. But what I meant was I just didn't like the way it is presented e.g. the pictures,figures..

  • Dwa cudowne głosy, to jest piękne!
